Friday night has six games scheduled, though one contest is an unusual 6 pm ET start.
Elias Pettersson (VAN) – C - $6,600 FanDuel, $5,400 DraftKings, $24 Yahoo
Pettersson has only been held off the scoresheet once in his last seven games. He’s been particularly effective lately with four assists in two contests, bringing him up to two goals and 10 points in nine games.
Tomas Hertl (SJS) – C - $6,100 FanDuel, $5,700 DraftKings, $24 Yahoo
Hertl opened the campaign with no points in his first five games, but he’s been red hot since. He has three goals and nine points in his last five contests.
Josh Bailey (NYI) – W - $5,400 FanDuel, $5,100 DraftKings, $17 Yahoo
Bailey has been somewhat hit-and-miss this season, but he’s averaged out to be very effective for his price point. Through nine contests, he’s scored four goals and eight points. With Jordan Eberle sidelined, he’s also been given ice time with Mathew Barzal and Anders Lee.
Bargain Bin: Evander Kane (SJS) - $7,000 FanDuel/$7,000 DraftKings/$22 Yahoo, Anthony Mantha (DET) - $6,600 FanDuel/$6,400 DraftKings/$23 Yahoo, Clayton Keller (ARI) - $6,200 FanDuel/$5,200 DraftKings/$19 Yahoo, Bo Horvat (VAN) - $5,700 FanDuel/$5,900 DraftKings/$19 Yahoo, Brock Nelson (NYI) - $5,400 FanDuel/$6,400 DraftKings/$18 Yahoo, Nick Schmaltz (ARI) - $5,100 FanDuel/$5,300 DraftKings/$18 Yahoo
John Carlson (WAS) - $7,300 FanDuel, $7,100 DraftKings, $27 Yahoo
In general, I’m a little hesitant about the Capitals tonight given that they played on Thursday, but Carlson is the exception to that. His start has just been unreal with him scoring five goals and 21 points in 12 contests. Plus he takes a lot of shots, which helps pad his value. In FanDuel for example, he hasn’t earned fewer than eight fantasy points in any game this season.
Thomas Chabot (OTT) - $5,300 FanDuel, $6,200 DraftKings, $19 Yahoo
Chabot got off to a slow start this season, but he’s heated up. He’s on a four-game point streak that has brought him to a goal and seven points in nine contests in 2019-20.
Bargain Bin: P.K. Subban (NJD) - $4,900 FanDuel/$5,900 DraftKings/$20 Yahoo, Devon Toews (NYI) - $4,600 FanDuel/$4,600 DraftKings/$17 Yahoo, Quinn Hughes (VAN) - $4,300 FanDuel/$4,100 DraftKings/$16 Yahoo
Jacob Markstrom (VAN) - $8,300 FanDuel, $7,700 DraftKings, $30 Yahoo
Anytime a goaltender is set to face Washington, it’s cause for caution, but the Capitals did play yesterday, so the fatigue factor favors Vancouver. Markstrom has also been one of the league’s top goaltenders early this season with a 4-2-0 record, 2.16 GAA, and .933 save percentage in six starts, making him look good at his current price.
