NHL Plays: Friday

NHL Plays will highlight the best and the most underrated daily fantasy options among forwards, defensemen and goaltenders.  

Please note, these players were chosen early in the day, so make sure to check Rotoworld’s player news for any lineup changes, injuries and potential changes in the crease for starting goaltenders.  

Additionally, it is worth reminding everyone that FanDuel allows you to roster nine players (2C, 4W, 2D, 1G) with a salary cap of $55,000, while DraftKings has a cap of $50,000 for nine players (2C, 3W, 2D, 1G, 1UTIL). Yahoo has a $200 cap for nine players (2C, 3W, 2D, 2G).

Forwards:

Jack Eichel (BUF) – C - $8,700 FanDuel, $7,800 DraftKings, $34 Yahoo

Eichel was held off the scoresheet on Dec. 23rd, but he recorded at least a point in each of the 18 games that preceded it. He scored 16 goals and 32 points over that span. That puts him up to 24 goals and 51 points in 37 games this season.

Patrick Kane (CHI) – W - $8,500 FanDuel, $7,000 DraftKings, $32 Yahoo

Kane has been red hot lately with five goals and nine points in five contests. That gives him 20 goals and 46 points in 38 contests. He’s expensive to be sure, but he’s been one of the league’s most reliable forwards with his longest point slump this season lasting three games from Oct. 22-26.

Patrice Bergeron (BOS) – C - $8,100 FanDuel, $7,600 DraftKings, $33 Yahoo

Bergeron entered the break with back-to-back multi-goal games. He’s also incredibly consistent, only being held off the scoresheet twice in his last 19 games. He has 15 goals and 32 points in 29 games in 2019-20.

Patrik Laine (WPG) – W - $7,700 FanDuel, $7,600 DraftKings, $26 Yahoo

Laine has found the back of the net in five of his last seven games. After recording 50 points in 82 games last season, he’s bounced right back with 14 goals and 35 points in 35 contests in 2019-20.

Mitchell Marner (TOR) – W - $7,600 FanDuel, $6,300 DraftKings, $28 Yahoo

Marner is on an eight-game point streak and has recorded multiple points in each of his last three contests. He has six goals and 17 points in that eight-game span. That brings him up to 10 goals and 35 points in 27 contests in 2019-20.

Mark Scheifele (WPG) – C - $7,400 FanDuel, $7,500 DraftKings, $26 Yahoo

Scheifele has recorded at least a point in nine of his last 10 games. He also hasn’t been held off the scoresheet in back-to-back games from Oct. 26th onward. He’s scored 17 goals and 39 points in 37 contests in 2019-20.

Max Pacioretty (VGK) – W - $7,300 FanDuel, $7,300 DraftKings, $26 Yahoo

Pacioretty has six goals and 11 points over his last eight contests. He’s been very consistent over that span, only being held off the scoresheet once. The season as a whole has been good for him. He has 16 goals and 37 points in 40 contests after being held to just 40 points in 2018-19 and 37 points in 2017-18.

Bargain Bin: Victor Olofsson (BUF) - $7,200 FanDuel/$6,900 DraftKings/$19 Yahoo, Mark Stone (VGK) - $6,900 FanDuel/$6,000 DraftKings/$23 Yahoo, Eric Staal (MIN) - $6,600 FanDuel/$5,500 DraftKings/$18 Yahoo, Teuvo Teravainen (CAR) - $6,600 FanDuel/$5,400 DraftKings/$23 Yahoo, Anders Lee (NYI) - $6,600 FanDuel/$4,700 DraftKings/$21 Yahoo, David Perron (STL) - $6,400 FanDuel/$5,900 DraftKings/$19 Yahoo, Kyle Palmieri (NJD) - $6,200 FanDuel/$5,600 DraftKings/$18 Yahoo, Jaden Schwartz (STL) - $5,700 FanDuel/$5,100 DraftKings/$18 Yahoo

Defensemen:

Kris Letang (PIT) - $7,000 FanDuel, $5,900 DraftKings, $23 Yahoo

Letang had a stretch from Oct. 19-Nov. 25 where he had two assists in just eight games, but other than that, he’s been having a great season. He has two goals and nine points in his last seven contests going into tonight’s action. Overall in 2019-20, he’s scored nine goals and 25 points in 28 contests.

Roman Josi (NAS) - $6,600 FanDuel, $6,400 DraftKings, $27 Yahoo

Josi is on a five-game goal scoring streak ahead of Friday’s contest. His career-high in goals in 15 markers, but he already has 14 goals and 35 points in 36 contests in 2019-20.

Bargain Bin: Erik Karlsson (SJS) - $6,500 FanDuel/$5,400 DraftKings/$21 Yahoo, Brent Burns (SJS) - $6,300 FanDuel/$6,200 DraftKings/$23 Yahoo, Alex Pietrangelo (STL) - $6,200 FanDuel/$5,600 DraftKings/$22 Yahoo, Zach Werenski (CBJ) - $5,900 FanDuel/$4,800 DraftKings/$23 Yahoo, Cale Makar (COL) - $5,800 FanDuel/$5,000 DraftKings/$24 Yahoo

Goaltenders:

Jordan Binnington (STL) - $8,800 FanDuel, $7,900 DraftKings, $33 Yahoo

Binnington is on a four-game winning streak and he’s allowed just eight goals over that span. He’s shown that his rookie campaign wasn’t a fluke, posting a 17-6-4 record, 2.38 GAA, and .921 save percentage in 27 starts.
