NHL Plays will highlight the best and the most underrated daily fantasy options among forwards, defensemen and goaltenders.

Please note, these players were chosen early in the day, so make sure to check Rotoworld’s player news for any lineup changes, injuries and potential changes in the crease for starting goaltenders.

Additionally, it is worth reminding everyone that FanDuel allows you to roster nine players (2C, 2W, 2D, 2UTIL 1G) with a salary cap of $55,000, while DraftKings has a cap of $50,000 for nine players (2C, 3W, 2D, 1G, 1UTIL) and Yahoo has a $200 budget for nine players (2C, 3W, 2D, 2G).

Don’t forget, for everything NHL, check out Rotoworld's Player News, and follow @Rotoworld_ HK and @CoreAbbott on Twitter.

Monday night has five games on tap.

Forwards:

David Pastrnak (Boston) - W - $7,500 (FanDuel), $7,800 (DraftKings), $33 (Yahoo)

Pastrnak had an assist and five shots on goal during his season debut on Saturday against Washington. It won’t be long before the Bruins winger is pumping out multi-point performances and this is may be the lowest his cap hit will be across the board all season long.

Nicklas Backstrom (Washington) - C - $6,800 (FanDuel), $5,800 (DraftKings), $24 (Yahoo)

Backstrom has been racking up points in 2020-21 and he has been held off the scoresheet just one time through nine games this season. He has five goals and 13 points during that span, including four multi-point efforts. Backstrom will go into Monday’s contest with a five-game point streak (three goals, six assists). He notched one goal and two helpers in Saturday’s 4-3 overtime win over Boston.

Brock Boeser (Vancouver) - W - $6,800 (FanDuel), $5,800 (DraftKings), $21 (Yahoo)

Boeser has four goals and one assist in his last two outings. He compiled seven shots and scored twice in Vancouver’s last game. Boeser also has two goals and two assists in three previous matches versus Montreal this campaign.

Bargain Bin: Elias Lindholm (CGY) - C - $5,800 (FanDuel), $5,400 (DraftKings), W - $20 (Yahoo), Nick Suzuki (MTL) - C - $5,700 (FanDuel), $5,300 (DraftKings), $17 (Yahoo), Paul Stastny (WPG) - C - $5,500 (FanDuel), $4,900 (DraftKings), $17 (Yahoo), Anthony Cirelli (TB) - C - $5,200 (FanDuel), $4,800 (DraftKings), $19 (Yahoo), Bryan Rust (PIT) - W - $5,500 (FanDuel), $21 (Yahoo), Tyler Toffoli (MTL) - W - $5,900 (DraftKings), $21 (Yahoo), Tom Wilson (WSH) - W - $5,200 (FanDuel), $4,400 (DraftKings), $18 (Yahoo)

Defensemen:

Victor Hedman (Tampa Bay)  - $6,900 (FanDuel), $7,000 (DraftKings), $25 (Yahoo)

Hedman requires plenty of cap space, but he’s very tempting for Monday’s slate. He had one goal and one assist in Tampa Bay’s 4-3 victory over Nashville on Saturday. Hedman also has three multi-point performances in six contests this season. He has generated two goals and five helpers during that time. The Predators also rank last in the league in penalty kill percentage, which the Lightning could take advantage of on Monday night.

Charlie McAvoy (Boston) - $4,800 (FanDuel), $4,900 (DraftKings), $19 (Yahoo)

McAvoy is more of a bang for the buck option on the defense side. He has accumulated one goal and six assists during a four-game point streak. He has two multi-point efforts in that stretch, including one against Washington on Saturday when he notched one goal and one assist.

Bargain Bin: Quinn Hughes (VAN) - $5,800 (FanDuel), $5,800 (DraftKings), $19 (Yahoo), Rasmus Andersson (CGY) - $4,700 (FanDuel), $4,800 (DraftKings), $18 (Yahoo)

Goaltenders:

Thatcher Demko (Vancouver) - $7,600 (FanDuel), $7,100 (DraftKings), $24 (Yahoo)

Demko is a bit of a risky play for Monday night because Montreal’s offense has been clicking this season and he was burned for seven goals on 42 shots by the Canadiens back on Jan. 21. However, he has stopped 100 of 103 shots since that start, while posting three wins in a row. Demko could be a bargain option in the crease for Monday night if his recent string of success continues and the Canucks go back to him for this matchup.

Bargain Bin: Vitek Vanecek (WSH) - $7,700 (FanDuel), $7,600 (DraftKings), $27 (Yahoo)
