NHL Plays will highlight the best and the most underrated daily fantasy options among forwards, defensemen and goaltenders.
Please note, these players were chosen early in the day, so make sure to check Rotoworld’s player news for any lineup changes, injuries and potential changes in the crease for starting goaltenders.
Additionally, it is worth reminding everyone that FanDuel allows you to roster nine players (2C, 2W, 2D, 2UTIL 1G) with a salary cap of $55,000, while DraftKings has a cap of $50,000 for nine players (2C, 3W, 2D, 1G, 1UTIL) and Yahoo has a $200 budget for nine players (2C, 3W, 2D, 2G).
Monday night has six games scheduled.
Connor McDavid (Edmonton) - C - $8,900 (FanDuel), $9,000 (DraftKings), $35 (Yahoo)
McDavid has amassed six goals and 15 assists during a nine-game point spree heading into Monday night’s action. He has recorded a multi-point effort in each of his past seven outings, including his previous two meetings against Ottawa. McDavid had a five-point performance on Jan. 31 and he picked up two helpers on Feb. 2. He will look to continue his offensive tear against the Senators on Monday.
Auston Matthews (Toronto) - C - $8,800 (FanDuel), $8,800 (DraftKings), $34 (Yahoo)
Matthews has found the back of the net in each of his past seven appearances, while scoring nine goals on 29 shots and adding one assist during that span. He has netted two goals in each of his last two matches versus Vancouver, while being credited for 11 shots on target. He will be seeking more of the same on Monday when the Leafs host the Canucks again.
Vincent Trocheck (Carolina) - C - $4,800 (FanDuel), $6,400 (DraftKings), $20 (Yahoo)
Trocheck has been producing like he did back in 2017-18 when he erupted for 31 goals and 75 points in 82 games. He has six goals and nine points through nine contests this year. Trocheck had one goal and one assist on Sunday versus Columbus and he will be looking for more in Monday’s rematch.
Mike Hoffman (St. Louis) - W - $5,400 (FanDuel), $4,700 (DraftKings), $19 (Yahoo)
Hoffman’s promotion to a line with David Perron and Ryan O’Reilly gives plenty of upside. He scored a pair of goals on Feb. 4 against Arizona to extend his point streak to four games. However, that ended on Saturday. Still, Hoffman has plenty of bang for the buck potential on Monday when the Blues face Arizona again.
Bargain Bin: Jordan Staal (CAR) - C - $3,900 (FanDuel), $4,300 (DraftKings), $15 (Yahoo), Christian Dvorak (ARI) - C - $5,200 (FanDuel), $5,300 (DraftKings), $19 (Yahoo), Anthony Cirelli (TB) - $5,400 (FanDuel), $5,000 (DraftKings), $20 (Yahoo), Jack Roslovic (CBJ) - W - $3,700 (FanDuel), C - $3,300 (DraftKings), $13 (Yahoo), Jordan Kyrou (STL) - W - $4,300 (FanDuel), $4,900 (DraftKings), $15 (Yahoo)

Tyson Barrie (Edmonton) - $5,400 (FanDuel), $5,900 (DraftKings), $19 (Yahoo)
Barrie has heated up with one goal and seven assists during a five-game point streak. That includes two multi-point performances against Ottawa, which will be Edmonton’s opponent on Monday night. Fellow Edmonton blueliner Darnell Nurse has been racking up points as well, making him a solid choice too, but Barrie has picked up four power-play points during his hot streak to give him a bit of a boost. Additionally, he has a slightly lower cap hit.
Bargain Bin: Colton Parayko (STL) - $4,900 (FanDuel), $5,300 (DraftKings), $17 (Yahoo), Morgan Rielly (TOR) - $5,200 (FanDuel), $5,800 (DraftKings), $19 (Yahoo), Quinn Hughes (VAN) - $5,900 (FanDuel), $5,400 (DraftKings), $19 (Yahoo), Adam Fox (NYR) - $4,300 (FanDuel), $4,300 (DraftKings), $20 (Yahoo), Jakob Chychrun (ARI) - $4,200 (FanDuel), $4,200 (DraftKings), $18 (Yahoo), Brett Pesce (CAR) - $3,500 (FanDuel), $3,500 (DraftKings), $14 (Yahoo)
Alexandar Georgiev (NY Rangers) - $7,300 (FanDuel), $7,600 (DraftKings), $31 (Yahoo)
If the Rangers choose to ride with Igor Shesterkin, who has been superb in his last three starts, then he’s a good option in this spot as well. However, this seems like a good game to get Georgiev back between the pipes. He blanked the Islanders with 23 saves back on Jan. 16 and he has superb numbers versus the Rangers’ rival in his career. Georgiev has a mark of 6-2-0 with a 1.80 goals-against average, a .941 save percentage and two shutouts against the Islanders.
Bargain Bin: Darcy Kuemper (ARI) - $7,300 (FanDuel), $7,400 (DraftKings), $30 (Yahoo)
