NHL Plays: November 27

DRAFT is back for another season of quick and exciting daily fantasy action. Their DFS platform offers poolies with a chance to participate in a format that most of us have grown very accustomed to over the years. You can compete in a live snake draft in which the participants take a player with each pick. Unlike other DFS games, this gives you the opportunity to use your knowledge to craft a team that no one else will have because the players you select cannot be chosen by your competition.

The draft is quick as you are allotted just 30 seconds per pick and you take five players. Your team is comprised of three forwards, a defenseman and a goalie.

Your strategy can be dictated by the positions being selected ahead of you. For instance, if you are going last and everyone else has a goaltender then you can wait until your last pick to make that selection. Of course, selecting players going up against weaker competition or players who are riding hot streaks are always popular strategies as well.

Remember, there are new pools available to play in but the players in my rankings will fall off the table as soon as the puck drops in their respective game.

Familiarize yourself with the rues and enjoy! It’s a great game! Tuesday’s 10-game slate features 10-person, eight-person, six-person and plenty of three-person drafts. There are also head-to-heads to participate in.

Forward Rankings:

MacKinnon and Rantanen remain high on the list based on their body of work this year, but MacKinnon was the only member of the Avs’ top line to pick up a point, with an assist, in Colorado’s 4-1 loss to Nashville on Nov. 7. The high-powered offenses of Penguins and Jets will lock horns in Winnipeg. Laine has tallied 11 goals in the last four games, while Crosby has five points in three games since his return from injury. Minnesota could have plenty of value versus the struggling Coyotes. Ottawa will play for the second time in two nights on the road, but Philadelphia’s leaky defense and goaltending could make them strong picks as well. The red hot Sabres and suddenly surging Golden Knights will make for strong plays too.

Defense Rankings:

There is a great selection of defenders for this slate, so you can probably wait to choose one with your final pick. Karlsson has finally heated up with two goals and six helpers in the past six contests. Chabot has been a consistent contributor, so he should remain high on your board. Dumba has been a roll with a six-game point streak, which includes five goals. Colin Miller deserves an honorable mention. He has two goals and four assists in the last five games.

Goaltender Rankings:

The goaltending for Tuesday night is not particularly strong. Dubnyk has been superb this season and he already has one win over Arizona this year when he stopped 31 of 32 shots. Fleury gets the second spot versus the struggling Blackhawks because he has won his last four games and has blanked the opposition in each of his last two starts. Hutton and Domingue have been playing lights out of late. Rinne has a difficult matchup, but he is having another Vezina Trophy caliber season and has enjoyed plenty of success versus Colorado in the past.
