NHL Plays: November 29

DRAFT is back for another season of quick and exciting daily fantasy action. Their DFS platform offers poolies with a chance to participate in a format that most of us have grown very accustomed to over the years. You can compete in a live snake draft in which the participants take a player with each pick. Unlike other DFS games, this gives you the opportunity to use your knowledge to craft a team that no one else will have because the players you select cannot be chosen by your competition.

The draft is quick as you are allotted just 30 seconds per pick and you take five players. Your team is comprised of three forwards, a defenseman and a goalie.

Your strategy can be dictated by the positions being selected ahead of you. For instance, if you are going last and everyone else has a goaltender then you can wait until your last pick to make that selection. Of course, selecting players going up against weaker competition or players who are riding hot streaks are always popular strategies as well.

Remember, there are new pools available to play in but the players in my rankings will fall off the table as soon as the puck drops in their respective game.

Familiarize yourself with the rues and enjoy! It’s a great game! Thursday’s eight-game slate features 11-person, eight-person, six-person and plenty of three-person drafts. There are also head-to-heads to participate in.

Forward Rankings:

Kucherov takes the top spot thanks to his seven-game point streak. He has amassed 13 assists during that span to go with two goals. Kucherov has been clicking alongside Point. McDavid’s six-game point ended on Tuesday against Dallas and he hasn’t gone more two matches in a row without a point this season. Winnipeg will look to fill the net versus Chicago like Vegas did on Tuesday. That should make Laine, Scheifele and Wheeler attractive plays. Speaking of the Golden Knights, Pacioretty and Tuch have been on fire during the team’s four-game win streak.

Defense Rankings:

Chabot leads all defensemen in scoring, so he gets the top spot even though the Rangers won’t be an easy opponent. Dumba has been red hot during a seven-game point streak, which includes five goals. Ristolainen is worth highlighting, as his offense has picked up of late. He has one goal and four helpers in the last five games. Theodore has heated up as well with two goals and five assists in his past six contests.

Goaltender Rankings:

Rinne and Fleury have been outstanding and they have matchups they should be able to take advantage of on Thursday night. Hellebuyck has been great against Chicago in his career and the Blackhawks have been struggling mightily, so he will be targeted high as well. Rask played well in a win over Montreal last Saturday and could start Thursday even though the opponent will be Jaroslav Halak’s former team. Either one of them would be a solid play. Hutton will take an eight-game win streak into a tough matchup versus Tampa Bay. Koskinen has been impressive for the Oilers and is coming off a shutout win over Dallas on Tuesday. Lundqvist has quietly been very good lately with three wins in his last four outings, which includes a victory versus Ottawa in his last start.
