NHL Plays will highlight the best and the most underrated daily fantasy options among forwards, defensemen and goaltenders.

Please note, these players were chosen early in the day, so make sure to check Rotoworld’s player news for any lineup changes, injuries and potential changes in the crease for starting goaltenders.

Additionally, it is worth reminding everyone that FanDuel allows you to roster nine players (2C, 4W, 2D, 1G) with a salary cap of $55,000, while DraftKings has a cap of $50,000 for nine players (2C, 3W, 2D, 1G, 1UTIL) and Yahoo has a $200 budget for nine players (2C, 3W, 2D, 2G).

There are 14 games scheduled on Saturday, though two of them are afternoon contests so we’ll be focusing on the 12 night games.

Forwards:

Cam Atkinson (CBJ) – W - $7,400 FanDuel, $5,800 DraftKings, $20 Yahoo

Atkinson’s season got off to a rough start, but he is starting to turn things around. He’s only been held off the scoresheet once in his last five games. At this point it’s worth gambling on him, especially in DraftKings where his cost is rather favorable.

Johnny Gaudreau (CGY) – W - $7,200 FanDuel, $5,700 DraftKings, $27 Yahoo

Gaudreau is on a three-game point streak and has recorded at least a point in five of his last six contests. He’s up to three goals and 13 points in 15 games, which isn’t ideal for him, but I suspect he will get up to a PPG pace before long.

Elias Lindholm (CGY) – C - $6,600 FanDuel, $6,100 DraftKings, $20 Yahoo

Despite being cheaper than Gaudreau in FanDuel and Yahoo, Lindholm has been the better option this season with nine goals and 12 points in 15 games. He’s been particularly good lately with four goals and six points in his last five contests.

Mathew Barzal (NYI) – C - $6,500 FanDuel, $6,700 DraftKings, $22 Yahoo

Barzal is on a three-game point streak and has recorded at least a point in seven of his last eight contests. He has six goals and 11 points in 12 contests in 2019-20 despite only getting an assist over his first four games of the campaign.

Travis Konecny (PHI) – W - $6,100 FanDuel, $5,900 DraftKings, $21 Yahoo

The Flyers have been a mixed bag so far, but Konecny has been a really consistent high note. He’s recorded at least a point in 10 of 12 games thus far. That gives him six goals and 14 points in 12 contests this season.

Reilly Smith (VGK) – W - $5,600 FanDuel, $5,900 DraftKings, $18 Yahoo

Smith is off to a great start with seven goals and 11 points in 14 games. He’s also going into today’s action on a three-game point streak.

Bargain Bin: Mark Stone (VGK) - $7,800 FanDuel/$7,300 DraftKings/$27 Yahoo, Sean Monahan (CGY) - $7,100 FanDuel/$5,900 DraftKings/$24 Yahoo, Anthony Mantha (DET) - $6,500 FanDuel/$6,300 DraftKings/$23 Yahoo, Tomas Hertl (SJS) - $6,400 FanDuel/$5,200 DraftKings/$23 Yahoo, Bo Horvat (VAN) - $6,100 FanDuel/$7,000 DraftKings/$19 Yahoo, Nikolaj Ehlers (WPG) - $5,600 FanDuel/$6,500 DraftKings/$18 Yahoo, Pierre-Luc Dubois (CBJ) - $5,500 FanDuel/$5,700 DraftKings/$17 Yahoo

Defensemen:

Dougie Hamilton (CAR) – D - $6,500 FanDuel, $6,600 DraftKings, $23 Yahoo

Hamilton has been one of the safest bets among defensemen so far. He’s on a six-game point streak and has only been held off the scoresheet twice this season. He’s up to six goals and 16 points in 13 games.

Shea Weber (MON) – D - $5,500 FanDuel, $6,000 DraftKings, $20 Yahoo

If you’re looking for a cheaper option, Weber has been strong with two goals and nine points in 13 games. He’s only been held off the scoresheet once in his last four games.

Bargain Bin: Morgan Rielly (TOR) - $6,400 FanDuel/$6,300 DraftKings/$25 Yahoo, Alexander Edler (VAN) - $5,600 FanDuel/$6,900 DraftKings/$23 Yahoo, Rasmus Dahlin (BUF) - $5,400 FanDuel/$5,000 DraftKings/$17 Yahoo

Goaltenders:

Tuukka Rask (BOS) – G - $9,000 FanDuel, $8,400 DraftKings, $40 Yahoo

Rask is off to a phenomenal start with a 6-0-1 record, 1.41 GAA, and .951 save percentage in seven games this season. On Saturday, the Bruins will be up against the lowly Senators, so this seems like a particularly good time to take him, even at that price.

Thatcher Demko (VAN) – G - $7,900 FanDuel, $7,300 DraftKings, $31 Yahoo

If you need a cheaper option, Canucks backup Demko is projected to play at the time of writing.  He has a 3-1-0 record, 1.73 GAA, and .941 save percentage in four games. He is up against San Jose, but the Sharks are on the second half of a back-to-back.

Bargain Bin: Semyon Varlamov (NYI) - $7,700 FanDuel/$7,200 DraftKings/$30 Yahoo, Pavel Francouz (COL) - $7,600 FanDuel/$7,400 DraftKings/$29 Yahoo, Robin Lehner (CHI) - $7,500 FanDuel/$7,400 DraftKings/$34 Yahoo
