Saturday’s Return to Play slate has five games scheduled, as the Stanley Cup Qualifiers gets started and NBC has you covered. The New York Rangers and Carolina Hurricanes will kick things off at 12:00 PM ET. The Chicago Blackhawks will face the Edmonton Oilers at 3:00 PM ET followed closely by the Florida Panthers versus the the New York Islanders at 4:00 PM ET. The Pittsburgh Penguins tangle with the Montreal Canadiens at 8:00 PM ET and finally the Winnipeg Jets will take on the Calgary Flames at 10:30 PM ET.
Mika Zibanejad (New York Rangers) - C - $8,400 (FanDuel), $7,900 (DraftKings), $34 (Yahoo)
Zibanejad compiled a league-leading 23 goals and 36 points over 22 games from Jan. 31 until the season was paused. He had career-highs in goals (41) and points (75) during the 2019-20 campaign. Zibanejad stands a good chance to carry over that momentum and he’ll be an integral offensive piece for the Rangers in the postseason.
Blake Wheeler (Winnipeg) - W - $6,800 (FanDuel), $5,600 (DraftKings) - C - $24 (Yahoo)
Wheeler is slated to play alongside Mark Scheifele and Kyle Connor in Game 1 against Calgary. The Flames have questionable goaltending, which makes players on the Jets intriguing options and the team’s stacked top unit certainly offers plenty of upside. Wheeler had seven goals and 22 points in 19 outings going into the NHL’s shutdown.
Jordan Eberle (New York Islanders) - W - $6,200 (FanDuel), $5,100 (DraftKings), $18 (Yahoo)
Eberle produced 13 of his 16 goals and 23 of his 40 points in 27 matches prior to the pause of the 2019-20 campaign. He was clicking with Mathew Barzal and Anders Lee during that time and the trio will be back together on Saturday for the Islanders in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Qualifiers versus Florida. The duo of Eberle and Barzal was superb against Pittsburgh during the first round of last year’s playoffs. They will look to rekindle that success against a Panthers team that had trouble keeping the puck out of the net during the regular season with the third-most goals against per game played (3.25 - tied with New Jersey).
Bryan Rust (Pittsburgh) - W - $5,400 (FanDuel), $6,600 (DraftKings), $27 (Yahoo)
Rust has plenty of bang for the buck upside, especially on FanDuel, for Saturday’s slate and he can fit nicely into several different lineups. The high-powered Penguins will play against Montreal in the Stanley Cup Qualifiers, which gives them plenty of appeal. Rust is projected to play on a combination with Evgeni Malkin and Jason Zucker in Game 1. He amassed 27 goals and 56 points in 55 contests during the regular season.
Bargain Bin: Kailer Yamamoto (EDM) - W - $5,100 (FanDuel)/$4,700 (DraftKings)/$19 (Yahoo), Dominik Kubalik (CHI) - W - $4,700 (FanDuel)/$4,500 (DraftKings)/$18 (Yahoo), Dylan Strome (CHI) - $4,400 (FanDuel)/$4,300 (DraftKings)/W - $18 (Yahoo), Justin Williams (CAR) - W - $4,100 (FanDuel)/$4,200 (DraftKings)/$18 (Yahoo)
Oscar Klefbom (Edmonton) - $5,500 (FanDuel), $6,000 (DraftKings), $19 (Yahoo)
Klefbom generated five goals and a personal best 34 points in 62 games during the 2019-20 season. He also had a career-high 18 power-play points. Klefbom won't break the bank and he offers exposure to offensive studs Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl.
Bargain Bin: Shea Weber (MTL) - $5,000 (FanDuel)/$5,400 (DraftKings)/$20 (Yahoo), Neal Pionk (WPG) - $4,700 (FanDuel)/$5,000 (DraftKings)/$19 (Yahoo), Sami Vatanen (CAR) - $4,500 (FanDuel)/$4,400 (DraftKings)/$15 (Yahoo), Jacob Trouba (NYR) - $4,100 (FanDuel)/$5,600 (DraftKings)/$14 (Yahoo)
Connor Hellebuyck (Winnipeg) $8,300 (FanDuel), $7,500 (DraftKings), $32 (Yahoo)
Hellebuyck is a great value selection for Saturday’s slate. He won five of six starts going into the pause of the 2019-20 season, while posting a .957 save percentage and two shutouts. The 27 -year-old netminder stopped 179 of 187 shots during that span. Hellebuyck, who is arguably the front-runner for the Vezina Trophy, has a 5-2-0 record with a 1.97 goals-against average and .932 save percentage in his career against Calgary.
Bargain Bin: Igor Shesterkin (NYR) - $7,900 (FanDuel)/$7,400 (DraftKings), Semyon Varlamov (NYI) - $8,100 (FanDuel)/$7,800 (DraftKings)/$30 (Yahoo), Sergei Bobrovsky (FLA) - $7,600 (FanDuel)/$7,700 (DraftKings)/$24 (Yahoo)
