NHL Plays will highlight the best and the most underrated daily fantasy options among forwards, defensemen and goaltenders.
Please note, these players were chosen early in the day, so make sure to check Rotoworld’s player news for any lineup changes, injuries and potential changes in the crease for starting goaltenders.
Additionally, it is worth reminding everyone that FanDuel allows you to roster nine players (2C, 4W, 2D, 1G) with a salary cap of $55,000, while DraftKings has a cap of $50,000 for nine players (2C, 3W, 2D, 1G, 1UTIL) and Yahoo has a $200 budget for nine players (2C, 3W, 2D, 2G).
Saturday has four games scheduled, but DraftKings isn’t offering a full-day Classic contest that includes the 12:00 PM ET Boston-Carolina matchup.
Reilly Smith (Vegas) - W - $5,800 (FanDuel), $5,300 (DraftKings), $21 (Yahoo)
Smith has been one of the hotter players in the postseason with three goals and four assists in five games. He has generated a multi-point performance in each of the first two games of Vegas’ series against Chicago, while accounting for three goals, two helpers and nine shots during that span. He is also relatively inexpensive despite his excellent production.
Pierre-Luc Dubois (Columbus) - C - $6,200 (FanDuel), $5,000 (DraftKings), $19 (Yahoo)
Dubois has plenty of bang for the buck potential for Saturday’s slate. He has been held off the scoresheet one time in his last five outings. Dubois also he has three multi-point efforts during that stretch, including one in each of the past two games. He has picked up one goal, three assists and eight shots versus Tampa Bay. Dubois has one goal and one assist on the power play versus the Lightning.
Andrei Svechnikov (Carolina) - W - $6,700 (FanDuel), $27 (Yahoo)
Svechnikov notched one goal and one assist in Carolina’s 3-2 win over Boston in Game 2. The two teams will play for the third time in four days, which could lead to some offensive fireworks. Svechnikov has four goals and seven points in five postseason games.
Bargain Bin: Kirby Dach (CHI) - C - $4,400 (FanDuel), $3,500 (DraftKings), $14 (Yahoo), Ondrej Palat (TB) - W - $5,200 (FanDuel), $4,700 (DraftKings), $16 (Yahoo), Andre Burakovsky (COL) - W - $4,100 (FanDuel), $4,500 (DraftKings), $18 (Yahoo)
Shea Theodore (Vegas) - $5,900 (FanDuel), $6,800 (DraftKings), $22 (Yahoo)
Theodore is worth spending up for on Friday. He has three goals and five points in five postseason matches. He has also racked up 17 shots, nine blocks and two power-play points, including one goal.
Victor Hedman (Tampa Bay) - $6,300 (FanDuel), $5,600 (DraftKings), $22 (Yahoo)
Hedman is fairly expensive on FanDuel, but he makes for a solid pick for Saturday’s slate. He has been a big contributor despite being limited to one assist in two games against Columbus. Hedman has also been credited with 15 shots on goal and six blocks during that span. He is bound to break out eventually.
Joonas Korpisalo (CLS) - $7,700 (FanDuel), $7,600 (DraftKings), $33 (Yahoo)
Korpisalo has been one the great stories of the playoffs. He has stopped 154 of the 158 shots he has faced over the last three games. He is coming off a 36-save win over Tampa Bay in Game 2 and even if the Blue Jackets lose on Saturday he could provide plenty of fantasy points. It also doesn’t hurt that he can fit into most lineups because of a very good cap hit.
