NHL Plays: Thursday 11/21

NHL Plays will highlight the best and the most underrated daily fantasy options among forwards, defensemen and goaltenders.  

Please note, these players were chosen early in the day, so make sure to check Rotoworld’s player news for any lineup changes, injuries and potential changes in the crease for starting goaltenders.

Additionally, it is worth reminding everyone that FanDuel allows you to roster nine players (2C, 4W, 2D, 1G) with a salary cap of $55,000, while DraftKings has a cap of $50,000 for nine players (2C, 3W, 2D, 1G, 1UTIL) and Yahoo has a $200 budget for nine players (2C, 3W, 2D, 2G).

Forwards: 

Leon Draisaitl (Edmonton) - W - $9,000 (FanDuel), $8,300 (DraftKings), $34 (Yahoo) 

Draisaitl is an expensive option, but the NHL leader in points has amassed 10 goals and 18 assists during a 13-game point streak.  He has nine power-play points during that span.  Draisaitl also has 18 points (six goals, 12 assists) in 20 career meetings versus Los Angeles, including two assists back on Oct. 5.  

Patrick Kane (Chicago) - W - $8,600 (FanDuel), $7,800 (DraftKings), $33 (Yahoo) 

Kane has been red hot with eight goals and 11 helpers during a 10-game point streak.  He has six multi-point performances over that span.  Kane has also racked up six goals, 15 points and 44 shots in 12 home matches this campaign.  

Nathan MacKinnon (Colorado) - C - $8,800 (FanDuel), $8,400 (DraftKings), $35 (Yahoo) 

MacKinnon is another high-priced option loaded with upside.  He has produced five goals and eight assists in the past six games.  MacKinnon has supplied four multi-point efforts during that stretch.  He has also generated nine goals and 23 points in 27 career contests against Minnesota, including two helpers back on Oct. 5.

Aleksander Barkov (Florida) - C - $8,400 (FanDuel), $7,700 (DraftKings), $29 (Yahoo) 

Barkov has six goals and six assists in eight games this month.  He has five multi-point outings during that span.  Barkov has accounted for four goals and nine assists in nine home appearances this season.  He also has 11 points (three goals, eight assists) in 10 career matches versus Anaheim.  

Max Pacioretty (Vegas) - W - $6,700 (FanDuel), $7,700 (DraftKings), $24 (Yahoo) 

Pacioretty has six goals and six assists in the past 11 games.  He has registered a multi-point performance in each of the last three contests, while supplying two goals and four helpers over that stretch.  

Andrei Svechnikov (Carolina) - W - $6,600 (FanDuel), $7,100 (DraftKings), $22 (Yahoo) 

Svechnikov has tallied four goals and four assists during a five-game point streak.  He has nine markers and 15 points in the past 11 outings.  Additionally, Svechnikov has six goals and 13 points in 10 home matches this campaign.  

Bargain Bin: Pierre-Luc Dubois (CBJ) - C $5,800 (FanDuel)/$5,800 (DraftKings)/$19 (Yahoo), William Nylander (TOR) - W - $5,700 (FanDuel)/$5,200 (DraftKings)/$20 (Yahoo), Nick Schmaltz (ARI) - W - $5,400 (FanDuel)/C - $4,800 (DraftKings)/$18 (Yahoo), Andre Burakovsky (COL) - W - $5,000 (FanDuel)/$5,000 (DraftKings)/$17 (Yahoo), Justin Dowling (DAL) - W - $4,100 (FanDuel)/C - $3,400 (DraftKings)/$10 (Yahoo), Kirby Dach (CHI) - W - $3,700 (FanDuel)/C - $3,700 (FanDuel)/$18 (Yahoo), Emil Bemstrom (CBJ) - W - $3,300 (FanDuel0/$3,300 (DraftKings)/$14 (Yahoo)

Defensemen: 

Cale Makar (Colorado) - $5,100 (FanDuel), $5,700 (DraftKings), $21 (Yahoo) 

Makar has earned four goals and nine assists in nine games this month.  The rookie blueliner has 23 points in 21 matches this season.  Makar still has a great price tag and plenty of bang for the buck potential.  

Victor Hedman (Tampa Bay) - $6,400 (FanDuel), $6,700 (DraftKings), $23 (Yahoo)

Hedman has two goals and six helpers during a five-game point streak going into Thursday night’s action.  He has five power-play points over that span.  Hedman has amassed four goals and 17 points in 13 appearances in 2019-20.  

Bargain Bin: Keith Yandle (FLA) - $5,600 (FanDuel)/$5,500 (DraftKings)/$19 (Yahoo), Oscar Klefbom (EDM) - $5,700 (FanDuel)/$17 (Yahoo), Miro Heiskanen (DAL) - $5,300 (FanDuel)/$5,500 (DraftKings)/$18 (Yahoo)

Goaltenders: 

Jordan Binnington (St. Louis) - $8,500 (FanDuel), $8,200 (DraftKings), $36 (Yahoo) 

Binnington has a 6-1-1 record in his last eight outings to go along with a .925 save percentage.  He has surrendered three goals or fewer in each of his last seven starts.  Binnington stopped 27 of 29 shots in a 3-2 overtime win over Calgary on Nov. 9.  The Flames have been struggling offensively, which could work in the favor of the Blues on Thursday night especially at home.  Binnington has gone 6-1-3 at Enterprise Center in 2019-20 to go along with a 2.06 goals-against average and .924 save percentage.  

Philipp Grubauer (Colorado) - $8,100 (FanDuel), $7,700 (DraftKings), $29 (Yahoo) 

Grubauer returned to action from a lower-body injury on Tuesday night and he made 31 saves in a 3-2 victory versus Calgary.  He turned aside 29 shots in a 4-2 win over Minnesota back on Oct. 5.  Grubauer has played well this season and the Wild have struggled this campaign.  

Bargain Bin: Joonas Korpisalo (CBJ) - $7,600 (FanDuel)/$7,800 (DraftKings)/$25 (Yahoo), Pekka Rinne (NSH) - $8,100 (FanDuel)/$7,900 (DraftKings), Frederik Andersen (TOR) - $8,100 (FanDuel)/$7,600 (DraftKings)/$32 (Yahoo),
