NHL Plays will highlight the best and the most underrated daily fantasy options among forwards, defensemen and goaltenders.
Please note, these players were chosen early in the day, so make sure to check Rotoworld’s player news for any lineup changes, injuries and potential changes in the crease for starting goaltenders.
Additionally, it is worth reminding everyone that FanDuel allows you to roster nine players (2C, 2W, 2D, 2UTIL 1G) with a salary cap of $55,000, while DraftKings has a cap of $50,000 for nine players (2C, 3W, 2D, 1G, 1UTIL) and Yahoo has a $200 budget for nine players (2C, 3W, 2D, 2G).
Thursday night has 10 games on the schedule.
Steven Stamkos (Tampa Bay) - W - $8,200 (FanDuel), $7,800 (DraftKings), $31 (Yahoo)
Stamkos has three goals and one assist in his last two outings to give him seven markers and 14 points in 11 games this season. He notched two goals and two assists in four appearances versus Florida last year after he racked up seven points (two goals, five assists) in four contests against the Panthers in 2018-19. Stamkos and Brayden Point could make for a good stack play on Thursday night, but that would take up a large chunk of cap space.
Johnny Gaudreau (Calgary) - W - $7,600 (FanDuel), $6,100 (DraftKings), $21 (Yahoo)
Gaudreau has cooled slightly from his nine-game point streak to start the year, but a meeting against the struggling Canucks could just what he needs to get back on track. He had one goal, two assists and four shots in two games versus Vancouver earlier this season. Gaudreau has been a point-per-game player against the Canucks in the previous three campaigns.
Elias Lindholm (Calgary) - C - $6,200 (FanDuel), $6,300 (DraftKings), $19 (Yahoo)
Lindholm doesn’t play with Gaudreau, but he has plenty of appeal for Thursday night’s slate thanks to red-hot start to the 2020-21 campaign. He has been held off the scoresheet in only two of his 12 appearances, while generating four goals and 13 points. Lindholm has lit the lamp in each of his last two outings. He also has five markers and four helpers in his past 10 matches versus Vancouver, including one goal and one assist in two games this year.
Kyle Connor (Winnipeg) - W - $7,200 (FanDuel), $6,000 (DraftKings), $23 (Yahoo)
Connor has three goals in the past four games, but his production has slowed a bit recently. He will find himself in a good spot to bounce back against a Senators team allowing a league-high 4.14 goals against per game played. Connor has already had some success versus Ottawa this season with one goal, three assists and five shots in two contests. He has accumulated markers and 12 points in eight career games against the Senators.
Josh Anderson (Montreal) - W - $5,000 (FanDuel), $5,400 (DraftKings), $18 (Yahoo)
Anderson has scored a goal in four straight games. He has five goals, one assist and 14 shots over that span. Anderson has been productive for the Canadiens this year, with 11 points in 13 contests, and he has been credited with 31 hits as well.
Bryan Rust (Pittsburgh) - W - $6,000 (FanDuel), $5,900 (DraftKings), $21 (Yahoo)
Rust has picked up a point in eight of his past 10 appearances. He has two goals, six assists and a whopping 37 shots during that span. Rust had one assist and eight shots on target in a 4-3 loss to the Islanders last Saturday. He potted four goals on 12 shots in three matches versus the Islanders last year.
Bargain Bin: Dustin Brown (LA) - W - $5,100 (FanDuel), $4,500 (DraftKings), $19 (Yahoo), Carter Verhaeghe (FLA) - W - $4,700 (FanDuel), $4,800 (DraftKings), $14 (Yahoo), Alex Tuch (VGK) - W - $4,600 (FanDuel), $4,300 (DraftKings), $17 (Yahoo), Vincent Trocheck (CAR) - C - $5,000 (FanDuel), $20 (Yahoo), Roope Hintz (DAL) - C - $4,800 (FanDuel), $5,500 (DraftKings), $18 (Yahoo), Pierre-Luc Dubois (WPG) - C - $4,900 (FanDuel), $4,200 (DraftKings), $16 (Yahoo), Jack Roslovic (CBJ) - C - $4,300 (FanDuel), $4,100 (DraftKings), $16 (Yahoo)

Jeff Petry (Montreal) - $6,100 (FanDuel), $6,600 (DraftKings), $23 (Yahoo)
Petry has been racking up points from the back end this season with six goals and 14 points in 13 games. He has also been credited with 35 shots, 17 blocks and 21 hits. Petry has been superb against Edmonton during his career with three goals and 10 points in 12 games. That includes two markers, one assist and six shots in two matches versus his former team this campaign.
Tyson Barrie (Edmonton) - $5,400 (FanDuel), $5,600 (DraftKings), $21 (Yahoo)
Barrie has turned on the jets of late with two goals and seven helpers in the last seven games. He has piled up 26 shots on target during that stretch. Barrie also has four power-play points in that span.
Bargain Bin: Quinn Hughes (VAN) - $5,800 (FanDuel), $5,500 (DraftKings), $19 (Yahoo), Dougie Hamilton (CAR) - $5,500 (FanDuel), $23 (Yahoo), Seth Jones (CBJ) - $4,700 (FanDuel), $4,800 (DraftKings), $18 (Yahoo), Alec Martinez (VGK) - $4,100 (FanDuel), $17 (Yahoo)
Connor Hellebuyck (Winnipeg) - $7,900 (FanDuel), $8,300 (DraftKings), $36 (Yahoo)
Hellebuyck has a surprisingly good cap hit on FanDuel, but he will occupy a larger slice of space elsewhere. He is coming off a loss to Calgary on Tuesday, but has plenty of rebound appeal on Thursday night. Hellebuyck already has two wins in his previous two starts versus Ottawa. He has stopped 46 of 50 shots for a 2.00 goals-against average and .920 save percentage in those contests.
Jacob Markstrom (Calgary) - $7,600 (FanDuel), $7,900 (DraftKings), $34 (Yahoo)
Markstrom has a good cap hit and a good matchup on Thursday night. He has won his last two outings and will look to continue that play with a meeting against the struggling Canucks on the docket. Markstrom has a 2-0-0 record versus his former team this year with a 1.00 goals-against average, a .966 save percentage and one shutout. He has turned aside 57 of 59 shots in that span.
Bargain Bin: Kevin Lankinen (CHI) - $7,200 (FanDuel), $7,700 (DraftKings), $29 (Yahoo)
