NHL Plays will highlight the best and the most underrated daily fantasy options among forwards, defensemen and goaltenders.

Please note, these players were chosen early in the day, so make sure to check Rotoworld’s player news for any lineup changes, injuries and potential changes in the crease for starting goaltenders.

Additionally, it is worth reminding everyone that FanDuel allows you to roster nine players (2C, 4W, 2D, 1G) with a salary cap of $55,000, while DraftKings has a cap of $50,000 for nine players (2C, 3W, 2D, 1G, 1UTIL).

Wednesday night has three games on tap.

Elias Pettersson (VAN) - C - $6,400 (FanDuel), $5,300 (DraftKings)

Pettersson hasn’t picked up a point in two games to open the 2019-20 campaign, but that should change in Vancouver’s home opener.  The Canucks will play against a Los Angeles team that played the night before at Calgary.  Pettersson registered two goals and three helpers in five outings versus the Kings last year.

Victor Olofsson (BUF) - W - $5,300 (FanDuel), $6,700 (DraftKings)

Olofsson has been hot to start the season with three goals and one assist during a three-game point streak.  He has scored all three goals on the power play, while providing exposure to Jack Eichel and Sam Reinhart, who have both been productive out of the gate.  Eichel and Reinhart were also very good against Montreal last year with six and four points, respectively, over four meetings.

Kevin Hayes (PHI) - C - $5,500 (FanDuel), $4,500 (DraftKings)

Philadelphia will play for just the second time this season when the club hosts New Jersey after returning from Europe for the 2019 NHL Global Series.  Hayes is projected to play between Claude Giroux and Jakub Voracek, which gives him plenty of bang for the buck upside.  He was held off the scoresheet in his Flyers debut, but has 12 points in 17 career games against the Devils.

Bargain Bin: Nikita Gusev (NJ) - W - $4,300 (FanDuel)/$4,600 (DraftKings), Jonathan Drouin (MON) - W - $5,400 (FanDuel)/$4,500 (DraftKings)

Rasmus Dahlin (BUF) - D - $5,700 (FanDuel), $6,000 (DraftKings)

Dahlin has collected one goal and four assists during a three-game point streak to begin his sophomore season.  He has generated three helpers on the power play during that span.  Dahlin had three assists in four contests versus Montreal last year.

Alexander Edler (VAN) - D - $5,400 (FanDuel), $5,500 (DraftKings)

Edler has one goal and four blocks following two games this season.  He generated one goal and one assist in three appearances versus Los Angeles last year, while generating seven shots.

Bargain Bin: Ivan Provorov (PHI) - $4,600 (FanDuel)/$4,800 (DraftKings), Jeff Petry (MON) - $4,500 (FanDuel)

Jacob Markstrom (VAN) - G - $8,500 (FanDuel), $7,700 (DraftKings)

Markstrom is the most expensive goalie on the slate for FanDuel, but he could be considered a bargain on DraftKings. He posted a 2-0-1 record against Los Angeles last year with a 2.26 goals-against average and .918 save percentage.  Facing a Kings team that played the night before in Vancouver’s home opener could be just what he needs to get into the win column this campaign.

Bargain Bin: Keith Kinkaid (MON) - $7,600 (FanDuel)/$7,600 (DraftKings)
