Updated On: December 18, 2019, 10:11 am ET

NHL Plays will highlight the best and the most underrated daily fantasy options among forwards, defensemen and goaltenders.

Please note, these players were chosen early in the day, so make sure to check Rotoworld’s player news for any lineup changes, injuries and potential changes in the crease for starting goaltenders.

Additionally, it is worth reminding everyone that FanDuel allows you to roster nine players (2C, 4W, 2D, 1G) with a salary cap of $55,000, while DraftKings has a cap of $50,000 for nine players (2C, 3W, 2D, 1G, 1UTIL) and Yahoo has a $200 budget for nine players (2C, 3W, 2D, 2G).

Forwards:

Mikko Rantanen (Colorado) - W - $7,800 (FanDuel), $7,400 (DraftKings), $28 (Yahoo)

Rantanen is a great option if you don’t want to spend up for Nathan MacKinnon.  Rantanen provides exposure to MacKinnon and he has plenty of upside.  He produced one goal and three assists against Chicago in his return to the lineup from injury back on Nov. 30.  Rantanen has four goals and 10 points in eight games since he got back in the lineup.

Jonathan Toews (Chicago) - C - $6,500 (FanDuel), $5,800 (DraftKings), $18 (Yahoo)

Toews has heated up with two goals and seven helpers in the past five games.  He has three multi-point performances during that span, which includes the last two games.  Toews is riding a three-game point streak, with one goal and five assists, going into Wednesday night’s action.  The veteran center has collected 21 goals and 47 points in 47 career matches versus Colorado.

David Perron (St. Louis) - W - $6,100 (FanDuel), $5,800 (DraftKings), $19 (Yahoo)

Perron is coming off a hat trick versus Colorado on Tuesday night.  He has seven goals and seven assists in his last 14 outings.  Additionally, he has three goals and five helpers in his last seven appearances versus Edmonton.

Bargain Bin: Kyle Palmieri (NJ) - W - $6,000 (FanDuel)/$5,400 (DraftKings)/$18 (Yahoo), Rickard Rakell (ANA) - W - $5,900 (FanDuel)/$5,600 (DraftKings)/$18 (Yahoo), Brandon Saad (CHI) - W - $4,700 (FanDuel)/$4,400 (DraftKings)/$17 (Yahoo), Andre Burakovsky (COL) - W - $4,600 (FanDuel)/$5,000 (DraftKings)/$16 (Yahoo), Robert Thomas (STL) - W - $4,100 (FanDuel)/C - $2,700 (DraftKings)/W - $15 (Yahoo),

Defensemen:

Alex Pietrangelo (St. Louis) - $6,200 (FanDuel), $5,600 (DraftKings), $21 (Yahoo)

Pietrangelo has generated one goal and four assists in the last seven games.  He has also been very productive against Edmonton during his career with eight goals and 25 points in 28 contests.  That includes one goal and two helpers versus the Oilers back on Nov. 6.

Bargain Bin: Erik Gustafsson (CHI) - $4,400 (FanDuel)/$4,600 (DraftKings)/$15 (Yahoo), Ryan Graves (COL) - $4,200 (FanDuel)/$4,700 (DraftKings)/$18 (Yahoo)

Goaltenders:

Jordan Binnington (St. Louis) - $8,600 (FanDuel), $8,000 (DraftKings), $35 (Yahoo)

Binnington has won his last three starts, while stopping 72 of 79 shots and posting a .911 save percentage.  He faced Edmonton once last year and turned aside 15 of 17 shots in a 7-2 victory.  Jake Allen made 32 stops in a 5-2 win over the Oilers on Nov. 6 this season.  If the Blues decide to give him the start instead of Binnington then he has plenty of bang for the buck potential.

Bargain Bin: Ryan Miller (ANA) - $7,300 (FanDuel)/$7,400 (DraftKings)/$25 (Yahoo), Mackenzie Blackwood (NJ) - $7,100 (FanDuel)/$7,200 (DraftKings)/$27 (Yahoo)
