Wednesday’s slate has six games scheduled, but you should note that DraftKings’ offerings only has the Panthers-Islanders match in Tiers or Showdown contests.
Nikita Kucherov (Tampa Bay) - W - $8,400 (FanDuel), $7,800 (DraftKings), $33 (Yahoo)
Kucherov was red hot at the end of the regular season with 16 goals and 36 points in 24 games. He picked up right where he left off in Tampa Bay’s first round-robin game against Washington on Monday. Kucherov had one goal and two shots in a 3-2 shootout win over Capitals. He also provided the shootout winner.
Ryan Nugent-Hopkins (Edmonton) - W - $7,300 (FanDuel), $6,700 (DraftKings), $27 (Yahoo)
Nugent-Hopkins has been very productive alongside Connor McDavid during Edmonton’s qualifying round series versus Chicago. He collected one goal and two assists in Game 1 and had three helpers in Game 2. RNH has picked up three assists on the power play and he has seven shots on goal through two postseason matches.
Ryan Johansen (Nashville) - C - $5,100 (FanDuel), $4,300 (DraftKings), $13 (Yahoo)
Johansen offers plenty of bang for the buck upside. He potted a goal and added a power-play assist in Game 2 on Tuesday after he contributed a helper in the series opener against Arizona. Johansen has been dangerous alongside Filip Forsberg and Viktor Arvidsson. He has bounced back following a rough 2019-20 campaign.
Jake Guentzel (Pittsburgh) - W - $7,500 (FanDuel), $6,500 (DraftKings), $28 (Yahoo)
Guentzel has made an immediate impact for the Penguins after being sidelined since Dec. 30 because of a shoulder injury. He has one goal and two assists for a team-leading three points following two games of the qualifying round against Montreal. Guentzel has been clicking with Sidney Crosby and he stands a good chance to keep rolling in Game 3.
Bargain Bin: Andre Burakovsky (COL) - W - $4,500 (FanDuel)/$4,300 (DraftKings)/$19 (Yahoo), Conor Sheary (PIT) - W - $4,300 (FanDuel)/$3,800 (DraftKings)/$13 (Yahoo), Anthony Beauvillier (NYI) - W - $4,800 (FanDuel)/$ (DraftKings)/$ (Yahoo), Kirby Dach (CHI) - C - $4,100 (FanDuel)/$4,100 (DraftKings)/$13 (Yahoo)
Kris Letang (Pittsburgh) - $6,800 (FanDuel), $6,500 (DraftKings), $25 (Yahoo)
Pittsburgh’s power play has struggled through two games in the postseason, while going 1-for-12. Letang hasn’t earned a point yet in the series despite having nine shots on goal and five blocks. He should be on the verge of a breakout performance and some success on the man advantage would certainly help him in that regard. Letang was fourth on the team with 15 power-play points during the regular season.
Bargain Bin: Torey Krug (BOS) - $5,800 (FanDuel), $5,100 (DraftKings), $20 (Yahoo), Cale Makar (COL) - $5,700 (FanDuel), $5,400 (DraftKings), $22 (Yahoo), Miro Heiskanen (DAL) - $4,700 (FanDuel)/$4,600 (DraftKings)/$17 (Yahoo)
Thomas Greiss (New York Islanders) - $7,400 (FanDuel), $23 (Yahoo)
If the Islanders follow Carolina’s example from last night then Greiss could get the nod in the second half of a back-to-back situation. The Hurricanes used James Reimer on Tuesday night after Petr Mrazek played the first two games of the series against the Rangers, including a match on Monday. Semyon Varlamov has started the first two games against Florida, but the team may turn to Greiss to complete the sweep. The Panthers have three goals through the first two outings.
