Point Guard

Elfrid Payton - New York Knicks (vs. Miami Heat)

*Julius Randle and Bullock are expected to play*

Payton is slated to return tonight against a Miami team with one back-up point guard down. We all know Payton has a massive potential ceiling but his floor is what worries me. There are so many talented Knick guards capable of vulturing his minutes. The Knicks have a plethora of talented guards capable of producing in a big way on any given night. If Julius Randle is confirmed out for tonight, it almost becomes worth it to make your lineups and swap and switch the three New York point guards. These guards include Alec Burks, Emmanuel Quickley, and Elfrid Payton. Barrett is expected to succeed as a featured player but one of these three guards must distribute the ball and avoid turnovers allowing for value play against the Miami Heat. The Miami Heat are favored by - 4.5 with a 204.6 O/U Courtesy of Pointsbet.com.

Shooting Guard

Alec Burks - New York Knicks (vs. Miami Heat)

*Julius Randle and Bullock are expected to play*

Alec Burks should assume a larger role with Bullock expected to sit. Bullock is a big-bodied, three-point shooting threat. In a nutshell, Burks has many of the same qualities and more. Burks is my pick to most benefit from the Knicks’ injuries tonight. His salary is low and the matchup is favorable against Robinson. The Miami Heat are favored by -4.5 with a 204.6 O/U Courtesy of Pointsbet.com.

Other SG Option: Fred VanVleet - Toronto Raptors (vs. Detroit Pistons)

Small Forward

RJ Barrett - New York Knicks (vs. Miami Heat)

*Julius Randle and Bullock are expected to play*

Your success on tonight’s slate will be dictated by your attentiveness to late news. Many players are at risk of not playing tonight. Monitor confirmed lineups throughout the night to gain an advantage on your opponent by using the NBC Sports Edge Starting Lineups Tool. If Julius Randle is confirmed out, you can then fire up Barrett. In this scenario, RJ carries a significant upside at reasonable salaries around the industry. Randle takes up a significant amount of offensive usage in the Knicks lineup. Who assumes his usage? Well, Barrett is definitely one of the players who will statistically benefit from Randle’s absence.

Other SF Options: Deni Avdiji - Washington Wizards (vs. Indiana Pacers)

Power Forward

Rui Hachimura - Washington Wizards (vs. Indiana Pacers)

*Bradley Beal is OUT*

Bradley Beal is listed as questionable tonight. If he decides not to play many will flock towards Russell Westbrook. In my opinion, Malcolm Brogdon is the perfect defender to maintain Westbrook. Brogdon‘s size, agility, and ability to stay out of foul trouble will benefit him tonight in a match-up against one of the league’s top all-time point guards. Oddly enough, the players from this game that intrigue me the most are Hachmura and Avdiji. If Westbrook cannot beat Brogdon off the dribble look for Washington’s starting shooting guard to rack up assists and begin to feed his supporting cast. Hachimura could be a major benefactor tonight.

Other PF Option: Grant Williams - Boston Celtics (vs. New Orleans Hornets)

Center

Bam Adebayo - Miami Heat (vs. New York Knicks)

*Julius Randle and Bullock are expected to play*

With Julius Randle questionable for tonight’s matchup against the Miami Heat, who takes over the offensive focus if Randall can’t go? RJ Barrett will be matched up against Jimmy Butler and Nerlens Noel will be tasked with maintaining Bam Adebayo you as Mitchell Robinson is already confirmed out for tonight‘s game. Not to mention, Reggie Bullock is also a game-time decision, currently labeled as questionable. If you ask me who takes over the majority of the Knicks’ offensive usage, I’d have to say either Barrett or Quickley. Quickley can easily come off the bench aggressive and accurate. Miami will be without Kendrick Nunn and Victor Oladipo for tonight‘s match-up at Madison Square Garden. Remember, the Knicks have allowed minimal percentages to the opposition (from beyond the arc) all season long. I do not expect that to change tonight. Look for Bam Adebayo to take advantage of his size and speed on New York’s backup center Nerlens Noel. Robinson will be out tonight and Bam sees massive advantages.

Other C Option: Mason Plumlee - Detroit Pistons (vs. Toronto Raptors)

Bargain Bin

PG Alec Burks

SG Duncan Robinson

SF Saddiq Bey

PF Grant Williams

C Mason Plumlee
