I’m starting to sound like a broken record by heading to Coors Field again, but it has to be done. The Rockies have run out of starting pitchers so they pretty much have a AAA staff and Yohan Flande is a minor league pitcher. The Dodgers hit righties better than lefties, but Flande hasn’t been able to calm the bats of either hand with seven runs allowed in his 10 innings since being called up. The Dodgers have scored 17 runs in their last two games in Coors and they should hit Flande off a tee today.
Adam Jones – BAL – If Flande wasn’t pitching in Coors I’d most likely be picking on Peavy at the top of this article. Peavy has given up seven homers in his last five games and a .348 wOBA to righties.
Hanley Ramirez – LAD – Ramirez made it through the whole game yesterday and put up good numbers. He should have no trouble with Flande in this one.
Giancarlo Stanton – MIA – Stanton is hitting lefties for a .388 average, 1.204 OPS and .503 wOBA. Marco Gonzales has a very small sample size so far, but is getting destroyed by right-handed hitting with two home runs allowed against them in just ten innings already.
Marcell Ozuna – TAM – Marco Gonzales has been hit hard since being called up. He’s allowed 14 hits, 10 runs and two homers in 9.1 innings. Right-handed hitters have done most of that damage and Ozuna has hit lefties well this season with a .368 wOBA.
Michael Saunders – SEA – The Mariners get a poor righty, Noesi, in a hitters’ park. That’s great news for this lefty-centric lineup. I love Seager and Cano today, but go down the lineup and swipe a cheap lefty for your roster in this one. Saunders is just getting back into the groove after his DL stint and had a 3-for-5 game yesterday. I like for him to get to Noesi in this one.
Scott Van Slyke – LAD – Van Slyke is hitting an outrageous .481 wOBA against lefties this season and Flande is a lefty who can be hit.
Manny Machado – BAL – Peavy, as I’ve mentioned, is getting rocked this season and Machado has been playing well, especially against righties.
Andrelton Simmons – ATL -- Simmons has a .387 wOBA and a 150 wRC+ against lefties this season. He is also 8-for-15 with 2 doubles in July already. Check his status for this game, but if he goes he’s a must play at this price.
Jordan Zimmerman – WAS – The Cubs don’t hit righties or on the road very well and in his last six games Zimmermann’s allowed just seven runs and looks to be locked in. He’ll most likely need to pitch very well to keep up with Arrieta who has been lights out as well.
Garrett Richards – LAA – Richards has put together a great stretch of pitching in June with a 1.05 ERA and 35 K’s in 34 innings. The Astros hit just a .297 wOBA against righties and .301 on the road. They also strike out 24% of the time against righties while just hitting a team .280 wOBA over the last two weeks.
Tim Lincecum – SFG – Well, it’s impossible not to recommend Timmy here as he goes up against the Padres whom he just no-hit. I’m guessing at his good price he will be heavily owned and for good reason. There are some decent matchups for pitchers today, but no must have studs. He can be faded because he can be hit and hit hard, but the Padres are just so bad that just about anyone could shut them down.
