Canadiens drop eighth straight game

If the Canadiens manage to make the playoffs at this point, it was be very impressive. With a 4-2 loss to Edmonton, the Canadiens are on an eight-game losing streak (0-7-1). That's pretty bad, but what's worse is its their second eight-game drought of the 2019-20 campaign.
Given that they have two losing streaks that combine to a 0-12-4 record, it's pretty amazing that they even have the 18-20-7 record they currently own. That said, if the season ended right now, they would miss the playoffs and not by a small margin. They're nine points behind in the Wild Card race, which isn't an impossible gap to overcome, but it's a very difficult one. Montreal will try to at least stop the bleeding on Saturday against the lowly Ottawa Senators.
