Every second round series is now two games deep and San Jose is the only team with a 2-0 edge. The Sharks will play the Predators next on Tuesday with the hopes of pushing Nashville to the brink of elimination.
Elsewhere Capitals defenseman Brooks Orpik received a three-game suspension for his high, late hit on Olli Maatta. The hit in question occurred on Saturday and knocked Maatta out of that game. Maatta's still being evaluated, but it would be surprising to see him in Game 3 on Monday.

Kari Lehtonen started the game for Dallas, but he allowed three goals on just five shots in the first period. Unsurprisingly, he didn't come out for the second frame.
Antti Niemi took his place and was perfect until halfway through overtime. He kicked out 19 of 20 shots in the losing effort.
David Backes scored the game-winning goal in overtime and had an assist earlier in the contest. He has three goals and six points in nine playoff contests.
Cody Eakin assisted on all three of the Stars' markers. He doesn't have a goal yet in the playoffs, but he does have seven assists in eight games.
After being held off the scoresheet in Game 1, Jamie Benn had a goal and an assist on Sunday. In eight playoff contests he has five goals and 12 points.
Dallas defenseman Alex Goligoski extended his point streak to four games with a goal on Sunday.
Meanwhile St. Louis' Patrik Berglund is on a three-game point streak after finding the back of the net.
Mattias Janmark scored a goal for Dallas in the third period. It was his first marker of the 2016 playoffs.
Troy Brouwer had a goal and an assist on Sunday. After being held off the scoresheet in St. Louis' first five playoff contests, he has four points in four games.
Blues defenseman Joel Edmundson scored his first career playoff goal at 7:02 of the first period.
Brian Elliott kicked out 31 of 34 shots tonight. He improved to 5-4 in the 2016 postseason.

Joe Thornton had an assist and scored the game-winning goal on Sunday. It was his eighth career game-winner in the playoffs.
Teammate Logan Couture also had a goal and an assist last night. He's recorded at least two points in three straight contests.
That said it was Joe Pavelski that led the offensive charge for San Jose with a goal and two assists. He now has six goals and 10 points in seven postseason games.
Predators goalie Pekka Rinne ended up with 22 saves on 24 shots. He has a 2.48 GAA and .915 save percentage in nine starts in the 2016 playoffs.
At the other end of the ice Martin Jones kicked out 37 of 39 shots. He has a 2.13 GAA and .923 save percentage in seven postseason contests.
Nashville defenseman Mattias Ekholm found the back of the net on Sunday. He has three goals and four points in nine playoff games.
Ryan Johansen accounted for the Predators' other marker. He has three goals and five points in his last five contests.
