Brighton vs. Liverpool Picks & Predictions

Brighton & Hove Albion (+500) vs Liverpool (-188, Draw +333)

Quick Hitter

At 2.39 average total goals, Brighton preside over one of the EPL’s stingiest campaigns. This could set the overall tone for a match in which Liverpool may aim to rest their stars and give reps to younger legs (Jurgen Klopp used all five subs in their previous outing vs. Aston Villa).

With that said, Liverpool have been surgical in the first half, sporting a league-best +25 goal differential. Brighton have scored just 13 first-half goals this season, one of the EPL’s worst marks.

The Seagulls aren’t going to win this match by outscoring Liverpool, so it’s logical why they would slow things to a defensive grind. That points to fewer opportunities, but against the champs, there’s only so much to be done. A 1-0 Liverpool half mark seems reasonable, and at a great value to gamble.

Pick: Half time score 1-0 Liverpool (+260)

Team/Player Prop

Mo Salah and Sadio Mané are both near the top of the Golden Boot race. While catching Jamie Vardy's lofty pace may seem ambitious, both are still threats to light up Brighton.

Mane scored vs Aston Villa last time out, and he gets a slightly better price (+110) than Salah (-110) to score anytime. The margins may be slim between these two, both in odds and probability. But a Liverpool player scoring is the safest prop, and these two are obvious candidates. We'll side with Mane at a slightly better value.

Pick: Sadio Mané anytime goal (+110)

Total Bet

As Brighton may attempt to slow Liverpool's attack, they should have trouble finding the net themselves. The Seagulls have failed to score in two of four post-COVID games, notching an anemic 1.06 goals per match this season.

Liverpool, meanwhile, have kept the sheet clean in three of their last four league matches. Included in that run are Crystal Palace's basement-dwelling offense, but the inherent trends point to a low-scoring affair in this one. The Under 2.5 goals is ripe for the picking at +100.

Pick: Under 2.5 goals (+100)

Side Bet

It's pretty easy to pencil Liverpool in for a victory here. They're chasing history, are healthy once again, and have last week's rout at the hands of Manchester City firmly in their rear-view.

Brighton are relatively safe from relegation and should be less desperate to put up points, rather than hold serve in their toughest remaining match. It wouldn't surprise us if Liverpool cruised to a somewhat-easy victory, and given their first-half margins, it should be safe to tab them for a halftime lead as well.

Pick: Half Time/Full Time - Liverpool (+137)
