How will the new NHL playoff format work?

The top 12 teams in each conference will compete in the new-look NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs format. The top four teams in each conference will compete in a three-game round-robin to determine first-round seeding. Teams No. 5 through 12 will face off in a best-of-five “play-in” series to advance to the first round. So, team No. 5 would play No. 12, No. 6 would play No. 11 and so on.

How to bet NHL series prices

Betting NHL series prices is pretty straightforward, as you are just betting which team will win the series. Let’s take the Pittsburgh Penguins vs Montreal Canadiens play-in series for example. The Penguins are listed at -201, while the Canadiens are on the board at +141.

The minus (-) indicates the Penguins are the favorite to win the series and the price means that bettors would have to wager $201 on Pittsburgh to win $100. While a $100 bet on the underdog (+) Canadiens would return $141.
