While the stars will shine this week in Florida, there's another trophy up for grabs on the Isle of Enchantment.
This is the first week of 2021 with two concurrent PGA Tour events, as the top players in the world will flock to Concession for the WGC-Workday Championship while those who didn't make the WGC cut will instead head to the Puerto Rico Open. It's a tournament that has seen a number of notable players shine before they hit the limelight, from recent winners (Tony Finau, Viktor Hovland) to recognizable runners-up (Jason Day in 2009, Jordan Spieth in 2013, Bryson DeChambeau in 2017).
This week's field has a decidedly international flavor to it, with each of the top six favorites hailing from outside the U.S. That list is topped by Belgium's Thomas Pieters, who shined at the 2016 Ryder Cup but remains in search of his first PGA Tour win. Another European Ryder Cup veteran, Ian Poulter, is not far behind, while Andrew Putnam is listed as the top American.
Here's a look at some of the notable odds this week, in Puerto Rico, via PointsBet Sportsbook:
+1200: Thomas Pieters
+1400: Matt Wallace
+2200: Byeong-Hun An
+2500: Andrew Putnam, K.H. Lee
+3000: Patrick Rodgers
