We are being treated to matinee basketball in the Western Conference, as the Utah Jazz and Los Angeles Lakers face off as the first matchup of today’s six-game NBA slate.
Utah Jazz vs. Los Angeles Lakers (+6.5) Total: 216
Yesterday the Jazz knocked off the Indiana Pacers 119-111. The big news to come out of the game was the ankle injury suffered by Utah's All-Star guard, Donovan Mitchell. Thankfully, the injury looked worse than it actually was and Mitchell is not expected to miss much time. However, he is questionable for today's game.
In the first half of the NBA season, the Jazz were the most profitable team in the NBA against the spread. Since the All-Star Break, though, the Jazz have dropped an 8-12 ATS record and are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games. They have become overvalued.
Today’s game opened with the Jazz as a 8.5 point road favorite. Currently on PointsBet, that number has been steamed down to Jazz -6.5.
The Lakers are 0-4 ATS this season as home underdogs and are 2-4 SU on their home court in their last six-games.
Offense will be hard to come by in this game, especially if Mitchell is out as expected.
