SHORT HANDED

The Toronto Raptors get a quick shot at redemption after falling to the Boston Celtics 118-102 on Christmas Day. The Celtics now enter today on a five game winning streak, and throughout their winning streak, the Celtics have shot above 50 percent from the floor.

The Raptors have struggled putting points up early away from home averaging 52.2 first half points per game and they take on a Celtics team giving up the fewest first half points per game in the Association with 51. With Toronto still shorthanded with Marc Gasol, Norman Powell and Pascal Siakam all still out, take Under their first half total of 53.5.

NO REST, NO PROBLEM

The Philadelphia 76ers travel to Miami to take on a Heat squad who have posted a 14-1 (11-4 ATS) home record this season with both teams playing on a back-to-back. Last night, Philadelphia lost 98-97 to Orlando where they were held to 40 percent shooting while the Heat enter on a four game winning streak after a 113-112 victory over the Pacers.

The 76ers have been one of the best team's in the Association since 2018 putting up points on no rest. They have gone Over the total in 14 of their last 18 games in that situation. Expect a good bounce back effort as Philadelphia eclipsed the 120 point mark in the three games prior. Bet Over their team total of 104.5.

THIRD TIME’S A CHARM

The highest game total of the night is set at 228.5 as the New York Knicks travel to Washington to take on the Wizards. The Wizards have been efficient offensively, but have really struggled to defend all season long.

The Wizards surrender 51.3 points per game in the paint this season (28th in the NBA) and a league high 122.7 points per game on their home court. Julius Randle has put up two consecutive 30 point games in which he has attempted 20 or more field goals. Expect big numbers Randle once again and bet Over his points total of 22.5.

FORCING UP TOUGH SHOTS

The Los Angeles Lakers hope to snap their four game losing streak as they travel to Portland to take on the Trail Blazers. The Lakers have done well versus Western Conference opponents posting a 16-3 record. Los Angeles has LeBron James questionable for today's contest, but Anthony Davis, and Kyle Kuzma upgraded to probable.

In their one prior meeting this season the Lakers held CJ McCollum to 15 points on 38 percent shooting on 5-of-13 made baskets from the floor. Expect similar numbers today versus a Lakers team giving up 21.5 points on a very low 41 percent shooting to opposing shooting guards. Bet Under his points total of 22.5.

STARTING QUICK

The Los Angeles Clippers are 8.5-point favorites as they host the Utah Jazz. Los Angeles has won 14 of their most recent 16 games at home and average the fourth highest points per game on their home court averaging 116.7 points per game. They take on a Jazz team who rank 22nd in points per game.

Utah has gotten out to very slow starts on the road this season ranking 29th in first half points per game averaging 48.4. With the Clippers putting up big numbers at halftime, averaging 62 over their most recent three, bet Over the Clippers first half team total of 55.5.
