NBA Betting Cheat Sheet for March 31

by Corey Parson
Updated On: March 31, 2021, 5:11 pm ET

We have a 10-game NBA slate to occupy us tonight and with no NCAA tournament games tonight, all eyes will be on the NBA hardwood. Important injury items are included in the game breakdowns.

Miami Heat vs. Indiana Pacers (+2) Total: 218.5

The Indiana Pacers and Miami Heat meet tonight in a matchup of two teams that really need to get on a winning streak. The Heat are currently the No. 7 seed in the East, while the Pacers are currently in the No. 8 spot and Indiana has already won the two earlier matchups this season. Miami needs to win tonight, but Victor Oladipo will not be in the lineup tonight vs. his former team.

Edge: Heat -2

Edge Finder Plus Tip: the Miami Heat are 8-2 to the Under as road favorites this season.

Portland Trail Blazers vs. Detroit Pistons (+7.5) Total: 221

The Detroit Pistons are 12-9 ATS at home this season, while the Trail Blazers are 14-9 ATS on the road this season. Portland should win the game straight up, but the point spread will likely come down to free-throws to close the game. The Total in this game opened up at 220 and has moved to 221.5 with the juice to the Over. Keep in mind, the Trail Blazers are 14-9 to the Over in road games this season.

Edge: Over 221

Houston Rockets vs. Brooklyn Nets (-12.5) Total: 230

The Brooklyn Nets are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games and the Rockets are even worse at 2-8 ATS in their last 10. The James Harden revenge narrative is irrelevant in this game because Houston doesn't have the pieces to compete with Brooklyn. The problem for the Nets is they play to the level of their competition. The Total in this game is too high. I would grab the Under right before tip-off.

Edge: Under 230

Dallas Mavericks vs. Boston Celtics (-1) Total: 222

We have a big nationally-televised, inter-conference game tonight as the Celtics host the Mavs. Boston doesn't look right this season and I don't think it's a playoff team. Plus, Jaylen Brown is questionable for the Celtics tonight.

Edge: Mavericks +1

Utah Jazz vs. Memphis Grizzlies (+5.5) Total: 226

The Utah Jazz are rolling again and have already beaten the Memphis Grizzlies twice during their current six-game win streak. As home dogs, the Grizzlies are 7-5 ATS and 8-4 to the Under. Plus, Donovan Mitchell is out tonight for Utah.

Edge: Under 226

New York Knicks vs. Minnesota Timberwolves (+3.5) Total: 218.5

The Knicks are 4-3 ATS this season as road favorites, but I personally do not like backing them when they are the favorite because some of my all-time bad beats have come at the hands of the Knicks. Against the Timberwolves, the Knicks will likely be the most heavily bet team on the slate this evening. I would almost always fade the Knicks in this spot, but I'm going to back them tonight.  I hope I don't regret it.

Edge: Kicks -3.5

Toronto Raptors vs. Oklahoma City Thunder (+7.5) Total: 221

The Raptors will be without Kyle Lowry tonight in Oklahoma City and the Thunder have a ton of injury issues of their own. The Raptors auto-fade is in effect and the Thunder are 13-9 to the Over as home dogs this season.

Edge: Over 221

Sacramento Kings vs. San Antonio Spurs (-2.5) Total: 231

When these two teams met earlier this week, the Kings used a 41-point second quarter to destroy the Spurs 132-115. I think the Spurs will return the favor this evening.

Edge: Spurs -2.5

Milwaukee Bucks vs. Los Angeles Lakers (+8.5) Total: 225.5

If good teams win and great teams cover, the Bucks can't be considered a great team. The Bucks are 3-7 ATS over their last 10 games, including four straight losses ATS and are 7-14 ATS as road favorites on the season. Andre Drummond is expected to make his Lakers debut tonight.

Edge: Lakers +8.5

Chicago Bulls vs. Phoenix Suns (-7.5) Total: 217

The Phoenix Suns host the Chicago Bulls, which have both Zach LaVine and Coby White questionable tonight. The Total in this game opened up at 222.5 and it has been bet all the way down to 217. I think the Under is a good play, but laying the points with the Suns will be my bet.

Edge: Suns -7.5
