BIGGEST RISE: NEW YORK JETS

OPEN: 100/1
WEEK 12: 10,000/1
WEEK 13: 1,000/1

Let’s be straight: the Jets aren’t winning the Super Bowl, no matter how intense the Natty Light-fueled inspirational speeches at the Gang Green tailgates get. But, to stay true to the focus of this article, New York is by far the biggest climb on the Super Bowl odds board in Week 13.

An upset win over Oakland at home and a three-game winning streak heading to Cincinnati has slimmed the Jets from impossible long shots at 10,000/1 to improbable long shots at 1,000/1. New York isn’t officially out of the playoff picture – mathematically – but has less than 1 percent shot of making the postseason cut. So, for those guys kicking themselves for not getting the 10,000/1 odds last week, don’t be so hard on yourself.

BIGGEST FALL: LOS ANGELES RAMS

OPEN: 6/1
WEEK 12: 50/1
WEEK 13: 100/1

A primetime beatdown on national TV has all but put the Rams’ Super Bowl dreams to bed. Los Angeles was trounced 45-6 by Baltimore Monday night, which served as the team’s fifth loss in the past eight games. The Rams head into Week 13 with a 6-5 mark, which would get the job done in the NFC East, but has them well off the pace in the NFC West.

Things don’t get any brighter for L.A. either. Los Angeles has one hell of a closing calendar, visiting Arizona this Sunday before a home stand against Seattle. Then it’s off to Dallas and San Francisco before a home finale against the Cardinals.

MVP WATCH: Jimmy Garoppolo, SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS

OPEN: 80/1
WEEK 12: 80/1
WEEK 13: 40/1

Much like the Jets’ Super Bowl chances, Jimmy G has zero shot of winning NFL MVP. Some might even say that the 49ers are 10-1 despite Garoppolo, which is harsh but maybe a little true – at least it was earlier in the season. To come to Garoppolo’s defense, he’s played well over the past four games.

The San Francisco quarterback has improved his completion percentage and watched his yardage totals tick up as well. He’s connected for 11 TDs to just three INTS over those four outings, which is a stark contrast to his 9-to-7 TD-to-INT count in the first seven starts of 2019. Most Valuable Player is a two-QB race between Jackson and Wilson, but Jimmy G - we salute you. And so do books with this Week 13 adjustment.
