Who will score more points: LeBron or AD?

Creativity is one of my favorite things about the booming business of sports betting.

It's not your Daddy's betting sheet anymore. Long gone are the days of only being able to bet the spread, total or moneyline. We can bet on almost anything now and each game has endless exotics and deep derivative markets. PointsBet Sportsbook has a very interesting prop bet posted for Game 5 of the NBA Finals tonight. It caught my eye right away.

Who will score more points? LeBron James (-115) or Anthony Davis (-113).

I'm one of those people that tries not to overthink things. And I hate going against my gut. So the first thing I thought about when I saw the prop was LeBron James cradling the Larry O'Brien Trophy in his arms after posting yet another triple-double and leading the Los Angeles Lakers to the promised land.

Full disclosure, I'm also on the Miami Heat +7 tonight

Where was I? Oh right, LeBron. I went back and checked the box scores from the first four Finals games to see how the superstar duo has scored so far this series:

Game 1: Davis 34, LeBron 25

Game 2: LeBron 33, Davis 32

Game 3: LeBron 25, Davis 15

Game 4: LeBron 28, Davis 22

That makes me feel even better. I've written many times on Rotoworld about how I witnessed the greatness of King James in several playoff series against the Chicago Bulls. He usually saves his best ball for later in a series, when he's able to physically impose his will and schematically slice and dice an opposing defense.

Davis is an incredible player but I like him to make more of an impact on the defensive end. The guy is a damn pterodactyl and he can dominate a game without even touching the ball. And you would have to imagine Frank Vogel will switch AD on Jimmy Butler again late in this game. That should be way more important than Davis flinging long jumpers on the other end.

This has been LeBron's league for a decade and more times than not, he's going to try to take center stage with a championship on the line. Because let's be real, he loves the attention more than anybody ever. Some love that, others hate it.

I personally don't care. Just get buckets.

Play on LeBron James (-115) to score more points than Anthony Davis
