Back in October, Lauri Markkanen jump-started his season like a player who was ready for massive things. He debuted with 35 points and 17 rebounds... and then more or less disappeared.
Markkanen followed up a big 2018-19 (18.7 ppg, 9.0 rpg) with a sub par 2019-20 (14.7 ppg, 6.3 rpg). The main issue was a reduced role, as his shot attempts dropped from 15.3 to 11.8 per game. That points directly at the Bulls' coaching, and it appears that Markkanen's reported recent frustration lands in more or less the same place.
On the latest episode of the Rotoworld Fantasy Basketball Podcast, Steve Alexander joins me to consider the outlook for Markkanen and De'Andre Hunter moving forward, plus the impressive longevity of Kyle Lowry, and why elite fantasy production past the age of 30 is somewhat ridiculously hard to find.
