Mallex Smith came into late May (May 27, specifically) hitting .164 on the season, already having been sent down to the minor leagues for a tune-up. Since that time, he has hit .285 in 42 games, with three homers and 17 steals, plus 12 doubles and four triples with a .794 OPS, looking a lot more like the Mallex we saw last year.
Meanwhile, Keston Hiura is back from his own stint in the minor leagues, and after a 3-for-4 game on Monday, he's hitting .349 with three home runs, seven RBI and four stolen bases so far this month.
On the latest episode of the Rotoworld Baseball Podcast, George Bissell joins me to discuss the potential going forward for Smith, Hiura, Emilio Pagan and other options, including AL Player of the Week Nate Lowe and Andres Munoz, the Padres reliever with the 100+ mph heater.
