Alex Ovechkin leads the NHL in power play goals on ice for with 27. He has only 10 power play points, which is a fairly low total considering the Capitals have scored so many.

 

Here is a list of the top players who have been on the ice for more than 20 power play goals. Their power play points total are in brackets.

Sami Vatanen: 5 points in 95:40 minutes of power play time.

Corey Perry:  11 points in 94:15.

Cam Fowler: 6 points in 93:40.

Ryan Getzlaf: 9 points in 82:47.

Ryan Kesler: 7 points in 77:54.

Rickard Rakell: 4 points in 71:53.

 

The Ducks were 4-8 this week and are 20-100 on the season. Kesler scored twice with Bieksa getting a goal and an assist and Getzlaf finishing the goal scoring parade. Mike Santorelli and Chris Stewart had two assists apiece with Perry and Vatanen each chipping in with one helper.

 

ARIZONA

Oliver Ekman-Larsson: 11 points in 210:17 minutes of power play time.

Mikkel Boedker: 12 points in 175:27.

Max Domi: 7 points in 115:31.

Tobias Rieder: 4 points in 1114:46.

Anthony Duclair: 4 points in 111:39.

Antoine Vermette: 7 points in 98:57.

 

The Coyotes were 4-16 this week and are 24-143 on the season. Shane Doan scored twice with Ekman-Larsson scoring once and adding an assist. Viktor Tikhonov also scored while Boedker and Rieder each had two assists. Vermette, Michael Stone and Connor Murphy each chipped in with one assist.

 

BOSTON

Torey Krug:  9 points in 112:43 minutes of power play time.

Patrice Bergeron: 18 points in 107:06.

Ryan Spooner: 11 points in 105:08.

Loui Eriksson: 11 points in 104:17.

David Krejci: 11 points in 104:13.

Zdeno Chara: 5 points in 48:57.

 

The Bruins were 4-10 this week and are 30-105 in 2015-16.  Bergeron scored twice with Matt Beleskey and Jimmy Hayes each scoring once. Krug had two assists while Spooner, Seth Griffith, Brett Connolly, Brad Marchand, Dennis Seidenberg and Max Talbot all had one helper.

 

BUFFALO

Ryan O'Reilly: 14 points in 123:32 minutes of power play time.

Rasmus Ristolainen: 11 points in 108:06.

Jack Eichel: 6 points in 100:51.

Sam Reinhart: 4 points in 97:20.

Cody Franson: 6 points in 97:08.

Matt Moulson: 4 points in 90:34.

 

The Sabres were 3-16 this week and are 25-124 this season. Eichel had a goal and an assist with Reinhart and O’Reilly each getting one. Ristolainen had two assists.

 

CALGARY

Johnny Gaudreau: 7 points in 139:14 minutes of power play time.

Dennis Wideman: 7 points in 124:34.

Sean Monahan: 4 points in 124:13.

Mark Giordano: 4 points in 106:41.

Jiri Hudler: 5 points in 105:07.

T. J. Brodie: 4 points in 76:43.

 

The Flames were 1-14 this week and are 15-122 this season. Dougie Hamilton scored an unassisted goal.

 

CAROLINA

Justin Faulk: 15 points in 125:15 minutes of power play time.

Eric Staal:  6 points in 116:46.

Victor Rask: 11 points in 109:46.

Elias Lindholm: 4 points in 98:05.

Jeff Skinner: 2 points in 78:05.

Kris Versteeg: 5 points in 71:36.

 

The Hurricanes were 0-7 and are 20-120.  

 

CHICAGO

Patrick Kane: 21 points in 124:33 minutes of power play time.

Artemi Panarin: 10 points in 113:42.

Brent Seabrook: 11 points in 112:02.

Jonathan Toews: 4 points in 103:06.

Duncan Keith: 11 points in 84:29.

Artem Anisimov: 4 points in 83:31.

 

Chicago was 5-11 this week and are 29-123 thus far. Kane led the way with a goal and three assists while Keith had a goal and two helpers. Panarin had one of each while Toews and Anisimov each scored. Seabrook had three assists and Marian Hossa had one.

 

COLORADO

Nathan MacKinnon: 13 points in 128:33 minutes of power play time.

Jarome Iginla: 8 points in 116:00.

Tyson Barrie: 10 points in 114:46.

Matt Duchene: 9 points in 113:55.

Gabriel Landeskog: 8 points in 96:30.

Francois Beauchemin: 9 points in 94:44.

 

The Avs were 5-11 this week and are 27-133 on the season. Carl Soderberg had a huge week with two goals and two assists while MacKinnon scored twice and Comeau once. Alex Tanguay had three helpers with Beauchemin chipping in with two. Iginla, Barrie and Johnson each had one assist.

 

COLUMBUS

Ryan Johansen: 11 points in 113:00 minutes of power play time.

Scott Hartnell: 8 points in 105:31.

Jack Johnson: 5 points in 101:53.

Ryan Murray: 5 points in 101:06.

Brandon Saad: 7 points in 87:23.

David Savard:  3 points in 86:39.

 

The Blue Jackets were 2-5 this week and are 23-124 this season. Johnson scored both goals with Johansen, Brandon Dubinsky, Nick Foligno and Savard each getting one assist.

 

DALLAS

John Klingberg: 14 points in 137:32.

Jason Spezza: 11 points in 136:43.

Jamie Benn: 14 points in 133:08.

Patrick Sharp: 14 points in 122:21.

The Stars were 1-11 this week and are 30-131 this season. Valeri Nichushkin scored the only Dallas goal and was set up by Spezza and Colton Sceviour.

 

DETROIT

Niklas Kronwall: 10 points in 118:15.

Gustav Nyquist: 8 points in 115:17

Justin Abdelkader: 6 points in 110:18.

Tomas Tatar: 9 points in 97:32.

Detroit were 2-13 this week and are 23-126. Riley Sheahan, for the second week in a row, and Pavel Datsyuk scored with Kronwall, Zetterberg, Green and Tatar each getting one assist.

 

EDMONTON

Ryan Nugent-Hopkins: 8 points in 112:09.

Teddy Purcell: 4 points in 111:32.

Andrej Sekera: 4 points in 84:18.

Leon Draisaitl: 5 points in 79:43.

Mark Letestu: 6 points in 74:30.

 

The Oilers were 1-9 this week and are 20-121 this season. Jordan Eberle scored and was set up by Benoit Pouliot and Letestu.

 

FLORIDA

Jonathan Huberdeau: 7 points in 108:34 minutes of power play time.

Aaron Ekblad: 6 points in 107:19.

Jussi Jokinen: 6 points in 106:24.

Brian Campbell: 5 points in 105:52.

Vincent Trocheck: 8 points in 104:38.

Reilly Smith: 6 points in 102:31.

 

The Panthers were 2-14 this week and are 24-138 for the season. Aleksander Barkov and Brandon Pirri scored with Dmitri Kulikov, Ekblad, Smith and Jokinen picking up the helpers.

 

LOS ANGELES

Drew Doughty: 10 points in 108:06 minutes of power play time.

Anze Kopitar: 5 points in 96:55.

Alec Martinez: 5 points in 77:27.

Jeff Carter: 5 points in 76:28.

Milan Lucic: 4 points in 76:03.

Tyler Toffoli: 7 points in 74:02.

 

The Kings were 4-9 this week and are 22-109 this season. Doughty had a goal and an assist with Dustin Brown (for the second week in a row), Toffoli and Tanner Pearson also scoring. Kopitar and Jake Muzzin each had two assists with Trevor Lewis and Gaborik each had one helper.

 

MINNESOTA

Ryan Suter: 10 points in 138:21 minutes of power play time.

Mikko Koivu: 10 points in 128:17.

Mikael Granlund: 6 points in 113:46.

Thomas Vanek: 8 points in 106:27.

Jason Pominville: 5 points in 101:37.

Zach Parise: 8 points in 94:00.

 

The Wild were 1-11 this week and are 22-118 on the season. Koivu scored as Parise and Matt Dumba drew the assists.

 

MONTREAL

P.K. Subban: 13 points in 180:15 minutes of power play time.

Andrei Markov: 9 points in 132:32.

Max Pacioretty: 9 points in 126:49.

Tomas Plekanec: 9 points in 109:12.

Alex Galchenyuk: 9 points in 97:27.

David Desharnais: 4 points in 87:49.

 

The Canadiens were 1-8 this week and are 25-133 this season. Pacioretty scored with Subban and Galchenyuk drawing the helpers.

 

NASHVILLE

Roman Josi: 15 points in 122:46 minutes of power play time.

Shea Weber: 15 points in 121:17.

Filip Forsberg: 12 points in 113:40.

James Neal: 7 points in 112:52.

Mike Ribeiro: 5 points in 101:17.

Seth Jones: 4 points in 92:50.

 

The Predators were 2-8 this week and are 26-126 this season. Forsberg and Ryan Ellis scored as Josi, Jones and Ribeiro drew the assists.  

 

NEW JERSEY

Michael Cammalleri: 10 points in 118:57 minutes of power play time.

Adam Henrique: 4 points in 107:08.  

Lee Stempniak: 9 points in 105:42.

Kyle Palmieri: 13 points in 99:17.

Jacob Josefson: 4 points in 85:01.

Damon Severson: 2 points in 78:21.

 

The Devils were 2-10 for the second week in a row and are 26-130 this season. Cammalleri and John Moore scored while Henrique drew the lone assist.  

 

NEW YORK ISLANDERS

John Tavares: 8 points in 127:09 minutes of power play time.

Kyle Okposo: 10 points in 116:01.

Frans Nielsen: 8 points in 105:24.

Nick Leddy: 8 points in 104:44.

Anders Lee: 6 points in 93:44.

Brock Nelson: 3 points in 78:30.

 

The Islanders were 3-13 this week and are 21-112 this season. Okposo and Lee each had a goal and an assist with Nielsen also scoring. Leddy chipped with two assists while Tavares and Marek Zidlicky each had one.

 

NEW YORK RANGERS

Mats Zuccarello: 9 points in 104:47 minutes of power play time.

Derick Brassard: 10 points in 102:38.

Keith Yandle: 8 points in 90:00.

Rick Nash: 6 points in 89:16.

The Penguins were 5-12 this week and are 24-129 this season.  It was a big week for Malkin as he set up all five goals. Crosby had two goals and one assist with Letang getting one goal and setting up three others. Hornqvist had a goal and an assist while Kunitz finished the goal-scoring.

 

ST. LOUIS

Alexander Steen: 14 points in 112:37 minutes of power play time.

Vladimir Tarasenko: 13 points in 103:07.

David Backes: 7 points in 94:32.

Alex Pietrangelo: 3 points in 88:42.

Jori Lehtera: 2 points in 72:48.

Kevin Shattenkirk: 14 points in 72:08.

 

The Blues were 2-7 this week and are 24-112 this season. Shattenkirk and Tarasenko scored with Stastny assisting on both goals. Steen and Backes also had assists.

 

SAN JOSE

Brent Burns: 17 points in 144:48 minutes of power play time.

Joe Thornton: 10 points in 135:13.

Joe Pavelski: 16 points in 133:30.

Patrick Marleau: 13 points in 132:38.

P. A. Parenteau: 7 points in 91:13.

The Capitals went 3-10 this week and are 30-117 this season. Johansson scored once and added an assist while Oshie and Jason Chimera also found the back of the net. Matt Niskanen (who took over quarterbacking the power play as Carlson is injured) and Kuznetsov each had two assists with Backstrom picking up one.

 

WINNIPEG

Dustin Byfuglien: 8 points in 126:36 minutes of power play time.

Blake Wheeler: 10 points in 118:34.

Andrew Ladd: 5 points in 115:02.

Bryan Little: 9 points in 113:37.

Mathieu Perreault: 9 points in 111:56

Tyler Myers: 1 point in 86:18.

 

 

The Jets were 2-12 this week and are 17-122 in 2015-16.  Ladd and Perreault scored with Wheeler setting up both goals. Byfuglien and Little also drew assists.
