Power Play Report

Monahan, Simmonds and Letang

by Michael Finewax
Updated On: October 4, 2018, 4:04 pm ET

As the NHL heads into the final week of the season it’s interesting to note that last week nine teams failed to score on the power play and this week it was only three as the Oilers, Wild and Canucks failed to put the biscuit in the basket.

There were 68 goals scored this week compared to only 47 in the previous seven days. I wrote last week that it appeared that teams were getting into playoff mode but that looked to be the opposite case this week.

There were a trio of four point performances this week as Sean Monahan, Wayne Simmonds and Kris Letang all boosted their power play point totals.
