PPR: The Final Week

It’s the last power play column of the season. What a year Alex Ovechkin has had as he leads the NHL in power play goals with 24.


It was also a big week for Brayden Schenn as the Flyers forward had two goals and two assists.

James Wisniewski: 15 points in 208:05.

Sami Vatanen: 17 points in 204:53.

Ryan Kesler: 11 points in 202:46.

Cam Fowler: 9 points in 188:04.

Corey Perry: 7 points in 182:13.


The Ducks were 0-4 this week and are 37-231 (16.0%) this season.



Oliver Ekman-Larsson: 20 points in 306:25 minutes of power play time.

Shane Doan: 10 points in 206:35.

Sam Gagner: 12 points in 176:50.

Mikkel Boedker: 12 points in 127:39.

Martin Erat: 6 points in 125:18.

The Coyotes were 2-7 this week and are now 46-223 (20.6 %).  Ekman-Larsson was in on both with a goal and an assist while Doan had the other goal. John Moore, Mark Arcobello and Michael Stone drew assists.



Torey Krug: 13 points in 196:25 minutes of power play time.

Loui Eriksson: 10 points in 188:36.

Patrice Bergeron: 13 points in 183:56.

Dougie Hamilton: 15 points in 180:22.

Carl Soderberg: 8 points in 161:20.

Milan Lucic: 8 points in 143:56.


The Bruins were 1-11 this week and are 37-207 (17.9%) thus far this season. Soderberg scored with Reilly Smith and Brett Connolly setting him up.

The Sabres were 3-13 this week and are 29-221 (13.1%) this season. Johan Larsson had a goal and an assist with Moulson and Andrej Meszaros also scoring. Gionta, Ennis, Ristolainen, Mikhail Grigorenko and Andre Benoit also had assists.

Jiri Hudler: 16 points in 225:21.

Sean Monahan: 19 points in 221:58.

Johnny Gaudreau: 20 points in 216:43.

Chicago was 1-10 this week and are 46-258 (17.8%) this season. Keith was the lone goal scorer with Toews and Hossa drawing the assists.



Tyson Barrie: 16 points in 232:23 minutes of power play time.

Jarome Iginla: 11 points in 222:01.

Ryan O'Reilly: 12 points in 210:35.

Gabriel Landeskog: 16 points in 199:27.

Alex Tanguay: 13 points in 186:26.

Matt Duchene: 6 points in 185:28.


The Avs were 2-8 this week and are 35-243 (14.1%) this season. Landeskog and Duchene scored with Barrie, Tanguay, John Mitchell and Zach Redmond getting the assists.



Ryan Johansen: 26 points in 226:18 minutes of power play time.

Jack Johnson: 21 points in 207:07.

Scott Hartnell: 15 points in 197:25.

Nick Foligno: 26 points in 192:26.

Cam Atkinson: 9 points in 172:19.

The Blue Jackets were 1-9 during the week and are 51-235 (21.7%) overall. Foligno scored and Johansen and Alexander Wennberg drew the assists.



Jason Spezza: 23 points in 287:49 minutes of power play time.

Jamie Benn: 19 points in 280:23.

Tyler Seguin: 28 points in 264:18.

Trevor Daley: 12 points in 183:43.

John Klingberg: 11 points in 178:25.

Alex Goligoski: 8 points in 166:07.


The Stars were 2-8 this week and are 51-278 (18.4%) for the season. Seguins scored both while Klingberg, Jamie Benn, Spezza and Patrick Eaves had one helper each.



Niklas Kronwall: 23points in 252:12 minutes of power play time.

Henrik Zetterberg: 27 points in 243:20.

Gustav Nyquist: 24 points in 240:53.

Marek Zidlicky: 20 points in 214:46.

Justin Abdelkader: 14 points in 199:29.

Detroit was 3-14 this week to go 69-287 (24.0%) thus far this season. Nyquist, Darren Helm and Stephen Weiss scored with Zetterberg, Kronwall, Zidlicky, Teemu Pulkkinen, Riley Sheahan and Datsyuk picking up the helpers.

The Oilers were 1-6 this week and are 41-228 (18.0%) on the season. Teddy Purcell scored with Schultz and Anton Lander drawing the assists.

Aaron Ekblad: 11 points in 220:27.

Jonathan Huberdeau: 12 points in 179:56.

Jaromir Jagr: 9 points in 176:20.

Jussi Jokinen: 9 points in 175:02.

The Panthers were 2-12 this week and are now 38-240 (15.8%).  Brandon Pirri and Ekblad scored while Aleksander Barkov, Huberdeau, Campbell and Jimmy Hayes each chipped in with one helper.



Drew Doughty: 15 points in 275:11 minutes of power play time.

Jeff Carter: 15 points in 221:55.

Anze Kopitar: 23 points in 219:09.

Jake Muzzin: 13 points in 187:34.

Marian Gaborik: 18 points in 184:19.

Andrej Sekera: 6 points in 135:50.


The Kings were 1-3 this week and are 45-240 (18.8%) this season. Carter scored with Doughty and Gaborik drawing the assists.  



Ryan Suter: 11 points in 285:50 minutes of power play time.

Jason Pominville: 14 points in 264:14.

Mikko Koivu: 15 points in 254:55.

Zach Parise: 15 points in 234:29.

Thomas Vanek: 16 points in 231:42.

Chris Stewart: 10 points in 149:10.


The Wild were 1-8 this week and are 37-237 (15.6%) this season. Parise was the lone goal scorer with Suter and Pominville setting him up.  



P.K. Subban: 20 points in 291:57 minutes of power play time.

Andrei Markov: 24 points in 253:31.

Max Pacioretty: 11 points in 206:21.

Brendan Gallagher: 8 points in 193:58.

David Desharnais: 11 points in 189:13.

Tomas Plekanec: 15 points in 173:25.


The Canadiens were 4-20 this week and are now 39-236 (16.5%) this season. Subban and Plekanec each had a pair of goals with Markov setting up a pair. Gallagher, Galchenyuk, Pacioretty, Sergei Gonchar and Nathan Beaulieu drew assists.



Roman Josi: 15 points in 247:26 minutes of power play time.

Shea Weber: 15 points in 236:23.

Mike Ribeiro: 12 points in 233:32.

Filip Forsberg: 19 points in 227:09.

Craig Smith: 8 points in 198:14.

Cody Franson: 17 points in 197:03.


The Predators were 2-9 and are currently 41-225 (16.3%). Mike Fisher scored and assisted on Cody Franson’s goal.



Travis Zajac: 7 points in 144:26 minutes of power play time.

Michael Cammalleri: 11 points in 143:14. 

Patrik Elias: 8 points in 138:12.

Eric Gelinas: 9 points in 133:23.

Adam Henrique: 15 points in 125:28.

Scott Gomez: 12 points in 105:06.


The Devils were 1-7 this week are 39-206 (18.9%) thus far.  Cammalleri scored and was set up by Gelinas and Henrique.



John Tavares: 30 points in 293:09 minutes of power play time.

Frans Nielsen: 18 points in 222:38.

Brock Nelson: 15 points in 217:26

Kyle Okposo: 18 points in 215:49.

Johnny Boychuk: 15 points in 185:30.

Nick Leddy: 11 points in 181:13.


The Islanders were 1-4 this week and are now 4-258 (19.0%). Okposo found the back of the net this week with Tavares and Nielsen drawing the assists.



Keith Yandle: 28 points in 326:26 minutes of power play time.

Derick Brassard: 17 points in 207:07.

Rick Nash: 12 points in 204:21.

Martin St. Louis: 13 points in 197:23.

Derek Stepan: 10 points in 166:04.

Dan Boyle: 7 points in 161:37.


The Rangers were 2-10 this week and are now 37-216 (17.1%) this season. Brassard scored and added an assist with Nash scoring as well. Ryan McDonagh set up both goals with Yandle also getting an assist.



Erik Karlsson: 30 points in 378:03 minutes of power play time.

Kyle Turris: 15 points in 239:36.

Bobby Ryan: 14 points in 234:37.

Mika Zibanejad: 14 points in 206:19.

Mark Stone: 12 points in 182:48.

David Legwand: 12 points in 179:42.


The Senators were 4-13 this week and are now 44-266 (16.5%).  Karlsson had a goal and two assists while Stone, Zibanejad, and Clarke MacArthur had one of each. Turris had a pair of helpers with Ryan getting one.



Mark Streit: 29 points in 282:18 minutes of power play time.

Claude Giroux: 36 points in 260:01.

Jakub Voracek: 32 points in 259:38.

Brayden Schenn: 19 points in 237:09.

Wayne Simmonds: 24 points in 236:27.

Sean Couturier: 6 points in 124:34.


The Flyers were 5-11 on the power play and are now 59-249 (23.7%). It was a big week for Brayden Schenn who had two goals and two assists. Voracek had one goal and a couple of helpers with Michael Del Zotto getting one of each. Michael Raffl completed the goal scoring while Streit had three assists. Giroux and Couturier had one assist each.



Sidney Crosby: 31 points in 270:12 minutes of power play time.   

Kris Letang: 24 points in 262:10.

Evgeni Malkin: 26 points in 242:42.

Chris Kunitz: 16 points in 224:50.

David Perron 9 points in 210:25.

Patric Hornqvist: 15 points in 203:33.


The Penguins were 1-7 this week and are now 49-248 (19.8%). Brandon Sutter scored while Perron drew the only assist. 



Alexander Steen: 24 points in 242:38 minutes of power play time.

Vladimir Tarasenko: 18 points in 202:13.

Alex Pietrangelo: 11 points in 190:37.

David Backes: 15 points in 186:41.

Kevin Shattenkirk: 25 points in 183:53.

Jori Lehtera: 6 points in 169:38.


The Blues were 2-11 this week and are now 54-242 (22.3%). Backes led the way with a goal and an assist while Paul Stastny also scored. Jaden Schwartz assisted on both with Shattenkirk and Ian Cole also assisting.

The Sharks were 2-9 this week and are now 53-245 (21.6 %) with the man-advantage. Chris Tierney led the way with a goal and an assist while Hertl also scored. Matt Irwin had the only assist.

Valtteri Filppula: 17 points in 270:22.

Ryan Callahan: 16 points in 227:17.

Anton Stralman: 14 points in 201:16.

Nikita Kucherov: 13 points in 173:12.

The Lightning were 4-13 this week and are now 50-273 (18.3%).  Jonathan Drouin scored twice with Stamkos and Callahan also finding the back of the net. Stralman had two assists with Filppula, Kucherov, Palat and Tyler Johnson had one.



Phil Kessel: 25 points in 292:41 minutes of power play time.

James van Riemsdyk: 19 points in 281:11.

Tyler Bozak: 18 points in 279:14.

Dion Phaneuf: 15 points in 237:55.

Jake Gardiner: 8 points in 190:43.

Morgan Rielly: 9 points 189:59.


The Maple Leafs were 1-10 and are now 44-263 (16.7%). Nazem Kadri had the lone goal with T.J. Brennan and Joakim Lindstrom drawing the assists.



Daniel Sedin: 24 points in 236:36 minutes of power play time.

Henrik Sedin: 24 points in 234:37

Radim Vrbata: 23 points in 221:13.

Alexander Edler: 12 points in 206:56.

Linden Vey: 6 points in 139:30.

Alex Burrows: 8 points in 136:22.


The Canucks were 2-10 this week and are now 43-228 (18.9%) this season. Henrik Sedin and Chris Higgins scored with Daniel Sedin, Edler, Burrows and Nick Bonino picking up one assist apiece.

Troy Brouwer: 14 points in 240:07.

The Capitals went 4-8 this week as they are 59-233 (25.3%) this season on the power play. Ovechkin scored twice with Evgeny Kuznetsov picking up a goal and an assist. Joel Ward completed the goal scoring and John Carlson had three assists.  Backstrom, Green and Matt Niskanen each had one assist.

Andrew Ladd: 18 points in 245:53.

Blake Wheeler: 11 points in 243:28.

Bryan Little: 18 points in 211:07.

Tyler Myers: 6 points in 192:44.

The Jets were 0-6 this week and are 47-253 (18.6%) this season.
