Tavares & Malkin lead the way

Nineteen players have been on the ice for at least 80 percent of their respective teams power play goals, led by John Tavares and Evgeni Malkin who has been on for 26 of the Islanders’ and Penguins’ 29 goals for an 89.7 percent efficiency rating.

 

Kevin Shattenkirk just misses this list, but he has been on the ice for the most power play goals with 30 out of 38 St. Louis goals (78.9%).

 

The remainder of players at 80 percent or more is as follows:

Ryan Kesler: 7 points in 128:38.

Cam Fowler: 5 points in 106:19.

Patrick Maroon: 4 points in 101:53.

Corey Perry: 6 points in 93:50.

 

The Ducks were 3-8 this week and are 24-144 (16.7%) this season.  Kyle Palmieri had a goal and an assist with Melker Karlsson and Francois Beauchemin also scoring. Getzlaf, Perry, Rickard Rakell and Vatanen had assists.

 

ARIZONA

Keith Yandle: 17 points in 194:45 minutes of power play time.

Oliver Ekman-Larsson: 12 points in 177.03.

Antoine Vermette: 11 points in 123:43.

Shane Doan: 7 points in 122:52.

Mikkel Boedker: 12 points in 119:39.

Sam Gagner: 6 points in 95:04.

 

The Coyotes were 3-11 this week and are now 29-133 (21.8 %). It was a big week for Doan who scored once and added two assists. Boedker had one of each with Ekman-Larsson also finding the back of the net. Vermette and Michael Stone had one assist each.

 

BOSTON

Dougie Hamilton: 6 points in 94:40 minutes of power play time.

Loui Eriksson: 5 points in 83:05.

Reilly Smith: 5 points in 82:31.

Patrice Bergeron: 5 points in 81:27.

Carl Soderberg: 7 points in 81:10.

Torey Krug: 8 points in 80:52.

 

The Bruins were 2-9 this week and are 19-101 (18.8%) thus far this season. Lucic and David Pastrnak scored with Krug setting up both goals. Chara and Krejci also had helpers.

 

BUFFALO

Tyler Ennis: 8 points in 129:57 minutes of power play time.

Matt Moulson: 5 points in 115:50.

Tyler Myers: 2 points in 104:19.

Drew Stafford: 5 points in 104:03.

Zemgus Girgensons: 1 point in 80:08.

The Sabres were 1-9 this week on the power play and are a league worst 11-120 (9.2%) this season. Mikhail Grigorenko scored with Chris Stewart drawing the lone assist.

 

CALGARY

Jiri Hudler: 7 points in 129:32.

Dennis Wideman: 9 points in 128:12.

Sean Monahan: 8 points in 126:07.

Johnny Gaudreau: 8 points in 119:36.

T.J. Brodie: 8 points in 115:49.

 

The Flames were 1-11 in the last seven days and are 26-146 (17.8%) for the season. Brodie scored with Joe Colborne and Giordano drawing the assists.

 

CAROLINA

Justin Faulk: 9 points in 110:32 minutes of power play time.

Elias Lindholm: 7 points in 107:22.

Victor Rask: 7 points in 104:04.

Eric Staal: 11 points in 96:10.

Nathan Gerbe: 7 points in 94:51.

Riley Nash: 4 points in 93:19.

 

The Hurricanes were 3-9 this week and are now 23-129 (17.8%) with the man-advantage. Faulk and Eric Staal each scored and had an assist with Jiri Tlusty also finding the back of the net. Jordan Staal, who led the Hurricanes in ice time on the power play this week, Lindholm and Gerbe all drew assists.

 

CHICAGO

Patrick Kane: 18 points in 162:16 minutes of power play time.

Duncan Keith: 8 points in 160:51.

Jonathan Toews: 12 points in 159:22.

Andrew Shaw: 3 points in 120:13.

Brent Seabrook: 10 points in 116:15.

Patrick Sharp: 10 points in 106:06.

 

Chicago was 1-9 this week and are 29-157 (18.5%) this season. Kane scored and was set up by Brad Richards and Toews.

 

COLORADO

Tyson Barrie: 6 points in 123:36 minutes of power play time.

Eric Johnson: 6 points in 110:16.

Ryan O'Reilly: 7 points in 109:18.

Jarome Iginla: 4 points in 107:16.

Matt Duchene: 2 points in 104:53.

Gabriel Landeskog: 9 points in 98:36.

 

The Avs were 1-7 this week and are 19-134 (14.2%) this season. Iginla scored with Alex Tanguay and Nick Holden drawing the assists.

James Wisniewski: 9 points in 125:44.

Nick Foligno: 20 points in 113:32.

Jack Johnson: 14 points in 111:24.

Scott Hartnell: 7 points in 107:46.

Cam Atkinson: 5 points in 96:44.

         

The Blue Jackets were 3-10 during the week and are 34-139 (24.5%) overall. Johansen scored twice with Johnson also scoring. Foligno and David Savard each had two assists while Brandon Dubinsky and Hartnell each had one assist.

 

DALLAS

Tyler Seguin: 14 points in 151:22 minutes of power play time.

Jason Spezza: 11 points in 146:48.

Jamie Benn: 6 points in 139:48.

Trevor Daley: 8 points in 129:58.

Alex Goligoski: 4 points in 82:10.

The Stars were 0-14 this week and are 22-144 (15.3%) for the season. 

 

DETROIT

Henrik Zetterberg: 13 points in 144:59 minutes of power play time.

Niklas Kronwall: 11 points in 139:58.

Gustav Nyquist: 14 points in 133:09.

Riley Sheahan: 7 points in 109:47.

Tomas Tatar: 11 points in 106:30.

Johan Franzen: 11 points in 106:21.

 

Detroit was 4-10 this week to go 38-157 (23.1%) thus far this season. Justin Abdelkader scored twice and added an assist with Pavel Datsyuk getting one of each. Luke Glendening finished the goal scoring with Zetterberg drawing two assists. Kronwall, Nyquist and Drew Miller each had one helper.

 

EDMONTON

Justin Schultz: 4 points in 120:57 minutes of power play time.

Ryan Nugent-Hopkins: 3 points in 114:21.

Jordan Eberle: 7 points in 114:10.

Taylor Hall: 5 points in 100:03.

Teddy Purcell: 7 points in 99:09.

Nail Yakupov: 3 points in 87:18.

 

The Oilers were 2-7 this week and are 15-126 (13.5%) on the season. Derek Roy and Eberle scored with Anton Lander setting up both goals. Jeff Petry and Purcell also had assists.

 

FLORIDA

Brian Campbell: 4 points in 134:50 minutes of power play time.

Aaron Ekblad: 4 points in 118:18.

Jussi Jokinen: 5 points in 90:26.

Jonathan Huberdeau: 5 points in 88:46.

Nick Bjugstad: 5 points in 88:07.

The Panthers were 0-5 this week and are now 16-120 (13.3%).

 

LOS ANGELES

Drew Doughty: 10 points in 166:57 minutes of power play time.

Jeff Carter: 9 points in 139:28.

Anze Kopitar: 15 points in 126:34.

Jake Muzzin: 8 points in 114:02.

Marian Gaborik: 9 points in 94:35.

The Kings were 2-10 this week and are 30-148 (20.3%) this season. Kopitar and Justin Williams scored with Doughty setting up both goals. Muzzin and Gaborik drew assists.

Jason Pominville: 8 points in 156:11.

Thomas Vanek: 8 points in 138:43.

The Wild were 1-14 this week and are 20-140 (14.3%) this season.  Pominville scored with Vanek and Nino Niederreiter drawing the assists.

Max Pacioretty: 4 points in 103:35.

David Desharnais: 6 points in 93:45.

NASHVILLE

Derek Stepan: 8 points in 81:29.

The Rangers were 2-8 this week and are now 25-121 (20.7%) this season. Boyle scored once and added an assist with St. Louis also finding the back of the net. Brassard set up both with Nash also adding an assist.

 

OTTAWA

Kyle Turris: 8 points in 137:08.

Bobby Ryan: 8 points in 129:01.

Clarke MacArthur: 6 points in 128:34.

David Legwand: 9 points in 114:57.

The Senators were 2-13 this week and are now 25-148 (16.9%). Milan Michalek and Cody Ceci scored with Karlsson, Ryan, MacArthur and Zibanejad picking up the assists.

Claude Giroux: 21 points in 145:38.

Jakub Voracek: 16 points in 145:06.

The Lightning were 2-10 this week and are now 29-159 (18.2%). Tyler Johnson scored both goals with Palat and Nikita Kucherov getting two assists apiece.

Tyler Bozak: 12 points in 144:14.

Blake Wheeler: 6 points in 145:00.

Bryan Little: 10 points in 140:23.

Andrew Ladd: 11 points in 139:44.

Mathieu Perreault: 8 points in 129:19.

Mark Scheifele: 6 points in 104:42.

 

The Jets were 3-18 this week and are 25-148 (1 6.9%) this season. Wheeler had a goal and an assist while Jay Harrison and Ladd also scored. Little, Byfuglien, Perreault, Adam Lowry and Michael Frolik chipped in with assists.
