Players are also listed at the positions where they’re most valuable, so if you don’t see that third baseman you’re looking for, he’s probably listed at second or short.

Dropping off: Prince Fielder (No. 6), Chris Colabello (No. 34), Daric Barton (No. 40)
- That super strong top nine at first base took quite a hit last month: three members of the group are now on the DL and one (Fielder) probably isn’t coming back. Last month, the No. 9 first baseman (Davis) was No. 31 in the overall top 300. This time, just the top six are that high. With Votto expected to come back at less than 100 percent, the top tier of first basemen runs only seven deep now.
- Not only is Hosmer’s home run power still absent, but he’s stopped hitting for average. He’s also been a zero in steals so far, which is a big problem. He could be projected as a top-12 first baseman as a 15-18 homer guy because he swiped 11-16 bases in each of his first three seasons. This year, he’s 0-for-1. His bat still figures to come alive -- for all of his problems, he does lead the AL with 20 doubles -- but without the steals, he’ll be an overrated property even after he starts hitting.
- I wasn’t quite sure what to do about Teixeira. He was good for six homers and 19 RBI in 25 games last month, but he followed that up with another round of wrist problems over the weekend. It sounds like he’ll return to action this week, but that’s not a given. Prior to the setback, he probably would have come in at No. 15. Now I’m rather worried about leaving him in the top 20.
