Remember that players are listed where they’re most valuable, so if you don’t see someone you’re looking for, check another position. Designated hitters are listed with the first basemen.

  • No changes at the top. Harper figures to be more valuable than Trout if both play 158 games this year, but I think Trout has a considerably better chance of actually playing 158 games.

  • I did bow to this incredible start the Cubs are off to and move Fowler up to the 30s, but he’s still a big injury risk and it hardly seems likely that he’ll keep hitting for this kind of average (he finished last year at .250, and he was typically in the .260s even as a Coors Field player). He can still score a whole bunch of runs while hitting .250, though.

  • DeShields hasn’t been a disaster with his .316 OBP and 13 runs scored through 24 games, but he needs to turn it around in short order if he’s going to avoid a demotion when Choo and Hamilton come off the disabled list. The Rangers seem increasingly comfortable with Ian Desmond in center, and barring a sharp decline, they’re going to keep Mazara around.
