Dropping off: Troy Tulowitzki (36th), Stephen Drew (59th)
- I would have had Ketel Marte a couple of spots higher, but I’m not sure about this hamstring injury yet.
- There don’t seem to be any particularly good bets among the potential callups at shortstop. I’d like to see Willy Adames take over Adeiny Hechavarria’s job in Tampa Bay, but the Rays seem rather fond of Hechavarria, even with him hitting .241/.265/.356 in 51 games for the club. Adames would do better, but he doesn’t currently have the power or speed to be an impact player in fantasy leagues.
Unlike Adames, Franklin Barreto and J.P. Crawford seem assured of callups, but they probably won’t be handed starting jobs. Instead, both are likely to assume utility roles unless someone ahead of them gets hurt. That’s why neither cracks the top 40.
