Week 12 Live Blog

Updated On: October 4, 2018, 4:04 pm ET

Week 12 got an early start on Thanksgiving Day with a trio of games and we're back with more action today. I'll be here all day to monitor the latest NFL news, big plays and any injuries that may take place. If you're out doing some early Christmas shopping, be sure to keep this page refreshed!

(7:43PM) After a late field goal, the Raiders are going to outlast the Panthers, thanks to a strip-sack on the Panthers final offensive play. That will do it for this week's live blog. Check back next week for more information and updates and enjoy the final two games this week!

(7:28PM) The Patriots got a late touchdown and then turned the Jets over and will get the hard fought win over a division rival. QB Tom Brady finished the game with 286 yards and two scores, both going to the rookie Malcolm Mitchell. WR Julian Edelman led the team with eight receptions for 86 yards.

(7:18PM) Maybe you thought last week was a fluke, but rookie WR Malcolm Mitchell is here to stay for the Patriots and just caught his second score of the day to give New England the lead with under two minutes remaining. Mitchell now has five catches for 42 yards and the pair of TDs.

(7:15PM) The Raiders have drawn even, thanks to a touchdown pass from QB Derek Carr to TE Clive Walford. Carr then found WR Seth Roberts for the two-point conversion to knot the game at 32.

(7:05PM) After another interception from QB Russell Wilson, the Bucs were able to run out the clock and end the game. QB Jameis Winston ended up with 220 passing yards and two touchdowns. RB Doug Martin managed 87 rushing yards and WR Mike Evans finished with a 8/104/2 line. For the Seahawks, Wilson had just 151 yards and no passing touchdowns, though he did lead the team with 80 rushing yards. TE Jimmy Graham led the team with 67 yards on six grabs.

(7:03PM) The Raiders had held WR Kelvin Benjamin without a reception for much of the game, but he just pulled in his first one, a 42-yard score giving the Panthers an eight point lead.

(6:57PM) Some good news concerning Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski...a report suggests his back injury is not considered serious and he is not expected to miss any additional time beyond this week. That's good news as fantasy leagues near the playoffs.

(6:51PM) HC Todd Bowles had to challenge it, but he won and the Quincy Enunwa reception was ruled a touchdown, giving the Jets the lead over New England. Enunwa leads the team with four receptions for 86 yards and a score.

(6:44PM) The big day continues for RB Jonathan Stewart. After Oakland QB Derek Carr threw an interception, the Panthers have taken the lead on a scoring run from Stewart, his second of the day. The two-point attempt again failed, so Carolina leads by one point.

(6:36PM) Raiders QB Derek Carr has returned to the game and is wearing a glove on his throwing hand. His first two pass attempts after injuring his finger were compete to TE Clive Walford and WR Amari Cooper.

(6:34PM) The Panthers are back in the game after an 88-yard touchdown pass from QB Cam Newton to WR Ted Ginn, giving Newton 106 total passing yards.

(6:31PM) Time to take a look at the most targeted pass-catchers of the week:

14- T Williams

12- Pryor, Reed, Eifert

11- Beckham, M Wilson, Moncrief, M Jones, Thielen

10- M Thomas, Evans, Britt, Crowder, Hopkins, Gresham, Rudolph

(6:18PM) The low-scoring games of the afternoon continue, but the Panthers just got a touchdown run from RB Jonathan Stewart, who has 77 yards on 11 carries. Carolina trails 24-13 following a blocked extra point.

(6:16PM) Raiders QB Derek Carr has gone to the locker room with what appears to be an injury to his pinky finger.

(6:13PM) It is no surprise at this point, but the Patriots have ruled out TE Rob Gronkowski for the remainder of the game. Also, Martellus Bennett, who was questionable for the game, suffered a lower leg injury and was forced from the game. The Pats and Jets are still tied at 10.

(6:11PM) WR Mike Evans started out well, with two quick touchdown receptions in the first quarter. He has slowed down, but still has a nice day going with an 8/104/2 line for the day. That's good enough to be the WR3 behind Antonio Brown and Odell Beckham and more than a quarter remaining.

(6:00PM) Seattle QB Russell Wilson still has managed just 33 passing yards, but he has a season best 60 rushing yards on six carries, easily outdoing his own RB Thomas Rawls, who has eight carries for 24 yards.

(5:53PM) The struggles of QB Cam Newton continue as he just threw a pick six, allowing Oakland to open a 24-7 lead. Newton still has only 18 yards passing.

(5:40PM) The Raiders are handling the Panthers and the Carolina offense is struggling. QB Cam Newton has just 18 passing yards, though he did get an early rushing touchdown. RB Jonathan Stewart has 62 rushing yards, most of that coming on a 47-yard scamper. TE Greg Olsen has one reception for eight yards and WRs Devin Funchess and Kelvin Benjamin have failed to record a catch.

(5:34PM) The Patriots have played as poorly as could be imagined in the first half, but they have just tied the game. After QB Tom Brady dropped the ball, he was able to pick it up and then find rookie WR Malcolm Mitchell in the end zone. With WR Chris Hogan and TE Rob Gronkowski slowed by injuries, Mitchell has earned more playing time and making his mark.

(5:26PM) With under a minute remaining in the half and the Seahawks driving, QB Russell Wilson threw an interception and the Bucs are in business. It has been a very quiet game for Seattle so far. Wilson has just 20 passing yards, though he does lead the team with 36 rushing yards. RB Thomas Rawls is back as the starter, but only has 24 yards. WR Doug Baldwin has one grab for seven yards and TE Jimmy Graham has a meager 1/2 stat line.

(5:13PM) The Patriots announced that TE Rob Gronkowski is dealing with a back injury, not chest, and his return is questionable.

(5:12PM) Jets veteran WR Brandon Marshall has been a disappointment for the ast few weeks, but is finally back to his 2015 form. He has five catches for 54 yards and just caught a touchdown pass from QB Ryan Fitzpatrick, giving the Jets a 10-0 lead.

(5:10PM) The back and forth affair between Carolina and Oakland continues. The latest score puts the Raiders back on top after RB Latavius Murray ran for a four-yard score. Murray has just nine rushing yards on seven carries, but is again doing work in the passing game, catching a pair of passes for 38 yards.

(5:09PM) Here are the top-scoring fantasy TEs for the week:

TE1- Jordan Reed, WAS

TE2- Tyler Eifert, CIN

TE3- Kyle Rudolph, MIN

TE4- Dion Sims, MIA

TE5- Lance Kendricks, LA

(5:05PM) Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski entered the weekend unsure about his status and while he was active and has seen a couple of targets, he has now been sent back to the locker room, after presumably aggravating his chest injury.

(5:02PM) The Jets and Patriots are nearly through the first quarter with little offensive output to show for it. The Jets lead 3-0 and QB Ryan Fitzpatrick has 94 passing yards for the day. The running game has not gotten on track as Matt Forte and Bilal Powell have totaled five yards on four carries. Both WRs Brandon Marshall (3/42) and Quincy Enunwa (2/43) are off to hot starts.

(5:00PM) The top scoring WRs for the week re as follows:

WR1- Antonio Brown, PIT

WR2- Michael Thomas, NO

WR3- Odell Beckham, NYG

WR4- Marquess Wilson, CHI

WR5- Taylor Gabriel, ATL

(4:58PM) The Panthers and QB Cam Newton quickly answered the Oakland score as Newton ran the ball in from three yards out, tying the game at seven. That was Newton's first carry after RB Jonathan Stewart did most of the heavy lifting on the drive with a season best 47-yard run.

(4:52PM) Here are the top-scoring RBs for the week:

RB1- David Johnson, ARZ

RB2- Mark Ingram, NO

RB3- LeSean McCoy, BUF

RB4- Ezekiel Elliott, DAL

RB5- Le'Veon Bell, PIT

(4:45PM) The Oakland Raiders have drawn first blood in their game against Carolina, as QB Derek Carr found WR Seth Roberts, a red zone machine, for the touchdown. Roberts now has a 2/26/1 line early in the game.

(4:38PM) Time for a deeper look at the top fantasy scorers of the week, including the trio of games from Thanksgiving.

QB1- Colin Kaepernick, SF

QB2- Drew Brees, NO

QB3- Kirk Cousins, WAS

QB4- Ryan Tannehill, MIA

QB5- Dak Prescott, DAL

(4:33PM) It's going to be a big day for Tampa Bay WR Mike Evans, who caught his second score of the day. Evans has already outscored all but six WRs who played earlier in the day/week.

(4:26M) The Bucs have scored the first touchdown of the late slate on a Jameis Winston/Mike Evans three-yard hookup. Tampa leads Seattle 7-0 in the early going.

(4:11PM) A couple of other finals...the Saints pound the Rams 49-21 and Buffalo outlasts Jacksonville at home.

(4:09PM) Many games are going final, including the Falcons taking it to Arizona 38-19, Baltimore outlasting division rival Cincinnati 19-14, Tennessee hanging on against the good effort from QB Matt Barkley and the Bears and San Diego taking out Houston 21-13.

(3:54PM) WR Odell Beckham just caught his second touchdown of the day, giving him a 6/96/2 line for the game. He could've had much more if a long scoring play was not called back early in the second half due to a penalty.

(3:47PM) A touchdown for the tanking Browns when QB Josh McCown hot a wide open rookie WR Corey Coleman for the touchdown. Coleman has a 3/38/1 line for the day and Cleveland is suprisingly down just seven points with plenty of time left.

(3:44PM) The Saints are on the board again after WR Willie Snead threw a 50-yard score to RB Tim Hightower after the backwards pass from QB Drew Brees to Snead. The Saints are rubbing things in for Rams DC Gregg Williams as New Orleans leads 49-21.

(3:39PM) Those of you who took a shot on the Giants defense against Cleveland today just got rewarded as QB Josh McCown was intercepted and returned by Jason Pierre-Paul for a defensive score. The G-Men lead 20-7.

(3:36PM) The Bills have regained the lead over the Jaguars as QB Tyrod Taylor found WR Justin Hunter with a touchdowns strike. That was Hunter's first grab of the day, while Taylor has 159 passing yards. RB LeSean McCoy ran for a successful two-point conversion to put Buffalo up by seven.

(3:31PM) Have a day, Taylor Gabriel! The Falcons WR just scored his second long TD of the game and now has over 100 total yards. Superstar WR Julio Jones still has just four receptions for 35 yards.

(3:28PM) Rookie WR Leonte Carroo has his first career touchdown reception as Miami QB Ryan Tannehill threw his third scoring pass of the day, along with 280 passing yards. The Dolphins lead 31-14.

(3:26PM) A pair of quick injury updates...WR John Brown was forced to leave the Arizona game with a hamstring injury and he will not return. WR Allen Hurns recorded his first catch of the day, a touchdown from QB Blake Bortles, but Hurns also suffered a leg injury on the play.

(3:25PM) QB Philip Rivers has just thrown his third touchdown pass of the day, this one to rookie TE Hunter Henry as the Chargers open up a lead over host Houston.

(3:24PM) Saints WR Michael Thomas has found the paint again, breaking tackles on his way to a 21-yard touchdown from QB Drew Brees. Thomas now has seven catches for 91 yards and a pair of scores. Star WR Brandin Cooks has yet to catch a pass on the day.

(3:16PM) After replay took away a second huge play for Miami WR DeVante Parker, the Dolphins have scored again, this time on a pass from QB Ryan Tannehill to WR Kenny Stills. Stills leads the team with a 3 for 72 line, while Parker has three catches for 64 yards.

(3:15PM) Cardinals RB David Johnson is receiving medical attention on the sidelines for what one beat writer is speculating is a dislocated finger.

(3:12PM) WR Sammy Watkins is back! He just recorded a 62-yard catch that has the Bills in the red zone. Watkins is up to 80 yards on the day, leading his team.

(3:11PM) In the past, RB Jeremy Hill has put up huge numbers when his teammate Giovani Bernard missed the game, as he is today. While Hill has just 21 yards on 11 carries, he does lead the team in receiving with 53 yards on five catches.

(3:09M) There is always a lot of attention given to the Cardinals WR corps, but they've been quiet today. Veteran Larry Fitzgerald has three catches for 45 yards, John Brown is currently at just one reception for 19 yards, while Michael Floyd, who was questionable to play, has not recorded a catch.

(3:07PM) It has been a down day for TE Tyler Eifert and the Cincinnati offense, but QB Andy Dalton and Eifert just connected for a touchdown. Eifert is now u to a 3/48/1 line for the game.

(3:03PM) Falcons RB Tevin Coleman came in with some fresh legs and got the touchdown for Atlanta. Coleman, in his return from a multiple week absence, has 16 total yards, but his touchdown adds to the Falcon lead.

(2:57PM) After weeks of being stuck in a running back by committee, Saints RB Mark Ingram is showing once again he is clearly the best talent for that team. Ingram has 135 total yards and two scores in the game. Meanwhile, veteran Tim Hightower has eight rushing yards on nine carries.

(2:55M) The Jaguars are on the board again on a 20-yard touchdown pass from QB Blake Bortles to WR Marqise Lee. Bortles has only 77 passing yards in the game and Lee now has 30 of those.

(2:52PM) The 49ers are back on the board after a long drought. QB Colin Kaepernick found TE Garrett Celek for the touchdown. Kap has just 114 passing yards, bu does have tow touchdowns and over 70 rushing yards.

(2:43PM) RB LeSean McCoy had a slow start to the game, despite a late first half touchdown that helped his stat line. That line looks much better now after a 75-yard touchdown run. McCoy is up to 86 total yards and two scores as the Bills lead over visiting Jacksonville.

(2:38PM) Let's take a look at the top fantasy scorers for the day from each position:

QB- Brees, Goff, Mariota

RB- Da Johnson, Hyde, Ivory

WR- T Williams, Inman, Beckham

TE- Walker, Kendricks, Sims

(2:35PM) With many games at halftime, there are some major disappointments to fantasy players. I've already mentioned the subpar first half for WR Julio Jones. Saints WR Brandin Cooks has yet to even see a target. Jaguars WR Allen Robinson and Bengals TE Tyler Eifert have failed to record a single reception.

(2:33PM) Rams QB Jared Goff is now up to three career touchdown passes, all coming today. The latest goes to TE Lance Kendricks and keep the Rams in the game on the road in New Orleans.

(2:27PM) As time winds down in the second quarter, the Buffalo Bills are finally on the board, thanks to a seven-yard touchdown run from RB LeSean McCoy, who has just 11 total yards on the day.

(2:22PM) The Falcons have 17 points already today and were pushing for another score as the second quarter winds down. The bad news for fantasy players is that WR Julio Jones has just three catches for 20 yards on the day and his bobbled pass led to an interception and killed the latest Atlanta drive.

(2:19PM) WR Odell Beckham is back for the Giants and he's into the end zone, catching a 32-yard score from QB Eli Manning. Also, QB Marcus Mariota has another TD pass, this one going to WR Rishard Matthews, who remains one of the hottest wideouts in the game. Finally, QB Drew Brees found rookie WR Michael Thomas for the short touchdown.

(2:18PM) Not only has WR Sammy Watkins recorded a reception, he now leads the team with 18 yards on a pair of catches.

(2:15PM) Not everything is going the Dolphins way. RB Jay Ajayi is being checked out by the team's medical staff on the sidelines. We'll see if he's able to return to the field when Miami gets the ball back.

(2:12PM) The Chargers offense got off to a slow start, but QB Philip Rivers is making up for that now. He just connected with breakout star WR Tyrell Williams for another touchdown, giving San Diego the lead. Williams has caught all six of his targets for 49 yards and the touchdown.

(2:10PM) A long scoring play from Falcons WR Taylor Gabriel is becoming a weekly occurence and he has met his quota today after catching a 35 yarder from QB Matt Ryan to give the Falcons the lead. Gabriel also leads the team in rushing, thanks to an earlier 27-yard score.

(2:08PM) QB Ryan Tannehill and the Dolphins have turned their season around after a terrible start and they've just scored again as Tannehill found TE Dion Sims for the score. Tannehill now has 147 yards and a touchdown on the day.

(2:04PM) After a pair of failed attempts from RB Tim Hightower, Saints QB Drew Brees went over the top on fourth down for the score. Brees and the Saints now lead 21-14 in the second period.

(2:00PM) Since taking over as the starter for San Francisco, QB Colin Kaepernick has been a top 12 option, mostly thanks to the floor provided by his rushing numbers. He's doing it again today as he has 62 rushing yards, 49 passing yards and a touchdown pass midway through the second quarter.

(1:56PM) Veteran WR Dontrelle Inman ran past the Texans defense and QB Philip Rivers hit him for a 52-yard score to tie the game in Houston. Rivers has 89 yards on the day.

(1:54PM) It is proving to be a high-scoring day early on. The Saints just got a rushing score from RB Mark Ingram to tie the game, while Giants QB Eli Manning hit WR Dwayne Harris for the score.

(1:53PM) The Bills haven't had much of anything going on offense and WR Sammy Watkins has yet to see a target in the game. To be fair, Buffalo has had the ball for very few plays and QB Tyrod Taylor has just four pass attempts.

(1:51PM) QB Marcus Mariota and the Titans are staying hot. He just found TE Delanie Walker for the go-ahead score. A side note...rookie RB Derrick Henry continues to see the majority of the work for Tennessee, carrying five times for 46 yards while veteran DeMarco Murray endures a slow start on the day.

(1:43PM) Another flurry of touchdowns. First, Miami lost an earlier touchdown on a review, but RB Jay Ajayi eventually got them there anyway. Also, QB Brock Osweiler registered his first rushing touchdown with the Texans as he lunged for the paint. For the Rams, rookie QB Jared Goff added another scoring pass, this one finding WR Kenny Britt

(1:40PM) A couple of quick injury updates. First, the Giants have listed WR Odell Beckham as questionable to return. Also, Jaguars RB Chris Ivory was forced from the field with what looks like a hamstring injury. RB TJ Yeldon is in the game in his place.

(1:36PM) It has been rookie RB Derrick Henry, not DeMarco Murray, breaking big plays for the Titans early. Henry has 23 rushing yards on just three carries and has scored the first touchdown of the day for Tennessee. Murray has 14 total yards on four touches.

(1:35PM) I mentioned an injury to Giants WR Odell Beckham earlier. While he was able to return to the game, he seems to have reinjured his hand/thumb and is again on the sidelines.

(1:33PM) The Bengals are without WR AJ Green and RB Giovani Bernard, which puts rookie Tyler Boyd and RB Jeremy Hill in a prime position. Through the opening quarter, Boyd leads the team with 18 receiving yards on one reception, while Hill has totaled 28 yards and has been involved in the passing game.

(1:31PM) Cardinals RB David Johnson is doing work against the weak Falcons defense. He has 74 total yards through one quarter and the Cards are in the red zone.

(1:28PM) The Saints and QB Drew Brees are spreading the ball around early and have broken the scoring. WR Willie Snead has a pair of receptions already, while TE Coby Fleener, WR Michael Thomas and RB John Kuhn have also recorded catches on this drive. It was WR Brandon Coleman who caught Brees first TD pass of the day, tying the game at seven.

(1:25PM) In his first career NFL star, QB Matt Barkley just threw his first ever touchdown pass, caught by Daniel Brown and giving the Bears an early lead over the visiting Titans.

(1:21PM) The Falcons put together a scoring drive to answer Arizona and RB Devonta Freeman finished it off with a touchdown run. WRs Mohamed Sanu and Justin Hardy both made nice clutch receptions on the drive. RB Tevin Coleman had two early catches for short yardage.

(1:10PM) A few quick scores come from the Ravens on a Joe Flacco to Breshad Perriman hook up, putting Baltimore ahead. The Cardinals score on a touchdown catch from TE Jermaine Gresham. The Jaguars are also in the end zone, thanks to a to strong early run game. QB Blake Bortles has 34 yards on a pair of rushes and RB Chris Ivory has 30 yards and a touchdown early. Finally, the Niners also found the end zone thanks to an 11 yard run from RB Carlos Hyde

(1:08PM) Last week it was Bengals WR AJ Green who suffered an early game injury and this week, Giants star WR Odell Beckham was sent to the locker room with an injury. The good news is he is already back on the sidelines. Hopefully, he is back in the game soon.

(1:07PM) Those same Rams are the first team to find pay dirt today as rookie QB Jared Goff threw his first career touchdown pass to WR Tavon Austin, going for 24 yards.

(1:04PM) The Saints are one of the league's worst rushing defenses, so some are expecting a big day from Rams RB Todd Gurley. He's off to a good start, but it came on a 31-yard reception that has his team nearing the red zone.

(12:58PM) Some other key players back in action this week include Atlanta RB Tevin Coleman and Bills WR Sammy Watkins. We'll be closely following how each of these players perform in their return to the field.

(12:50PM) There were many iffy injury situations around the league, but the majority of those players are active. This includes Saints RB Mark Ingram, Jaguars RB T.J. Yeldon, Cardinals WR Michael Floyd and Bills RB LeSean McCoy. The Patriots lay later today, but their star QB Tom Brady and TE Rob Gronkowski are both expected to play. Finally, as expected, Bears QB Jay Cutler is inactive and Matt Barkley will start in his place.
