We're back with another week of NFL football after we all survived the carnage that was Week Two around the NFL. Continue to check back throughout the day as I will be with you through all the NFL excitement today, recapping player performances and critical fantasy news.

(7:47PM) The Chargers were unable to come back as QB Philip Rivers threw his first interception of the day at the worst time and the Saints were able to run out the clock for their first win of the season. While there is one game reamining, the Bucs and Broncos continue to be in a weather dealy, so we'll call it a day. Check back in next week for constant updates on all of the Week Five action.

(7:39PM) The Saints have completed their comeback, thanks to a RB John Kuhn run up the middle for his third touchdown of the day. The Saints now lead by one point with just under two minutes remaining. The Chargers and QB Philip Rivers get the ball back with a shot at a comeback of their own.

(7:29PM) It has not been a good day for QB Drew Brees and the Saints, but he just hit rookie WR Michael Thomas for a score to bring the Saints within a touchdown with just under five minutes remaining in the game. The Chargers will get the ball back and a chance to ice the game with a long drive.

(7:26PM) We are about an hour from kickoff of the Sunday Night Football matchup of Kansas City and Pittsburgh and Chiefs veteran RB Jamaal Charles is expected to make his season debut. The Steelers will be without WR Eli Rogers and LB Ryan Shazier, among others.

(7:25PM) The late games are wrapping up as the Cowboys have finished off the Niners 24-17 and the Rams have all but wrapped up a win over Arizona, who played the end of the game without QB Carson Palmer

(7:15PM) I mentioned that the Rams/Caridnals game was a close one and the Rams have just taken the lead on the second QB Case Keenum to WR Brian Quick score of the day. Quick now has a 2/69/2 line on the day.

(7:13PM) The Cardinals are in a tight game with the Rams and they've just lost their QB as Carson Palmer was sent to the locker room, presumably to be checked for a possible concussion. Expect to see veteran Drew Stanton when the Cardinals take the field again.

(7:02PM) During his rookie season, Chargers RB Melvin Gordon failed to score a single touchdown. Against the Saints today, he scored his sixth of the season, giving San Diego a 30-21 lead over New Orleans.

(6:56PM) Just like last week, there is a weather delay in Tampa, which will delay the conclusion of the Bucs/Broncos game as the players and fans have been asked to seek cover. This game is already out of hand as Denver leads 27-7 and the Bucs aren't putting up much of a fight.

(6:53PM) The Cardinals rely on starting RB David Johnson, but veteran Chris Johnson is still a key contributor, but that may not be the case anymore. CJ2K went down awkwardly on a run and immediately grabbed his leg.

(6:43PM) The lead has just grown in that game as QB Paxton Lynch threw his first career touchdown, finding WR Emmanuel Sanders for the score. Sanders now has eight catches for 88 yards on the day as the Broncos cruise to a win.

(6:40PM) It has been a quiet day for Tampa Bay, who trails the Broncos 20-7 in the fourth quarter. QB Jameis Winston has just 116 passing yards on the day, along with a pair of interceptions. RB Charles Sims is being held to 34 total yards and star WR Mike Evans has a 3/23 line. This is why fantasy owners should avoid players facing the Broncos defense.

(6:36PM) Finally, the top WRs for the week:

1. Jordan Reed, WAS

2. Greg Olsen, CAR

3. Jimmy Graham, SEA

4. Martellus Bennett, NE

5. CJ Fiedorowicz, HOU

(6:34PM) The top fantasy scorers at the WR position up to this point:

1. Julio Jones, ATL

2. Michael Crabtree, OAK

3. AJ Green, CIN

4. Steve Smith, BAL

5. Eddie Royal, CHI

(6:32PM) Cowboys rookie RB Ezekiel Elliott is putting together the best game of his short career today, already with over 100 rushing yards and a touchdown run, which gave the Cowboys the lead of the Niners. Elliott also has one catch for 19 yards in the game.

(6:29PM) The top five RBs (so far) for Week Five:

1. DeMarco Murray, TEN

2. LeSean McCoy, BUF

3. Isaiah Crowell, CLE

4. Matt Jones, WAS

5. Frank Gore, IND

(6:27PM) The Saints are trying to hang with San Diego on the road and RB John Kuhn has scored again, his second of the day. This time, Kuhn was running the ball, bringing the Saints within three points of the Chargers.

(6:25PM) With the action slowing down a bit, here's a look at your fantasy scoring leaders for Week Four, up to this point, beginning with the QBs:

1. Matt Ryan, ATL

2. Blake Bortles, JAX

3. Russell Wilson, SEA

4. Derek Carr, OAK

5. Joe Flacco. BAL

(5:55PM) The big game of the afternoon continues to be a fun one to watch. The Chargers have scored again, this time on a RB Melvin Gordon one-yard run, putting San Diego in front 24-14. Expect Saints QB Drew Brees to throw the ball a lot in the second half.

(5:48PM) The Arizona Cardinals also tied up their game as halftime approached, as QB Carson Palmer found WR Michael Floyd in the paint. Floyd has just two grabs on the day for 21 yards. Palmer is up to 160 passing yards, along with the touchdown and one interception.  Palmer's favorite target of the day has been WR John Brown, who has seen 12 targets, catching right of them for 95 first half yards.

(5:46PM) The Cowboys have tied up the game with San Francisco at 14 just before halftime on a pass from QB Dak Prescott to WR Brice Butler. Prescott has two touchdowns along with 133 passing yards on the day.

(5:27PM) There are few details out there yet, but the Broncos have lost QB Trevor Siemian, who was carted off and to the locker room with an apparent shoulder injury. Rookie QB Paxton Lynch is in the game for Denver.

(5:21PM) The game that was expected to be the top scoring matchup of the week is not letting us down. The Chargers have scored again to match the Saints at 14 as QB Philip Rivers hit WR Dontelle Inman for a 57-yard touchdown.

(5:14PM) The Saints are on the board again with the first touchdown pass of the day from QB Drew Brees, hooking up with former Packers RB John Kuhn for the score. The Saints lead San Diego 14-7 in the mid-second quarter.

(5:02PM) The Denver Broncos regained the lead on a run by RB CJ Anderson, who has four attempts for just two yards in the game. Denver leads Tampa Bay by a score of 14-7.

(5:00PM) The Niners have now opened up a two score lead after RB Carlos Hyde carried the ball into the end zone from three yards out. San Francisco leads Dallas 14-0 early in the second quarter.

(4:53PM) Veteran TE Antonio Gates is out again this week and rookie Hunter Henry is filling in admirably. After catching all five of his targets last week, Henry just scored the Chargers first touchdown of the game on a pass from QB Philip Rivers. Henry has caught both of his two targets in the game so far.

(4:49PM) Rams WR Brian Quick has done it again. After a long score last week, he repeated that against the Cardinals with a 65-yard score. It was Quick's first catch of the day and gives Los Angeles a 7-0 lead over Arizona.

(4:41PM) The San Francisco 49ers have struck first against the Cowboys on a pass from QB Blaine Gabbert to veteran WR Jeremy Kerley. The Niners lead 7-0 over the Dallas Cowboys.

(4:35PM) The high-powered New Orleans offense has an early lead on a touchdown run from RB Mark Ingram. The back, who has been quiet this year, has 23 yards on five early carries.

(4:27PM) A post-game note and something to watch going forward for the New York Jets...veteran RB Matt Forte was spotted headed for x-rays following the game. RB Bilal Powell saw a season-high 13 touches in the Jets loss to Seattle.

(4:23PM) After the early turnover and Denver score, Tampa then marched down and QB Jameis Wintson ran it in to tie the game. That is the first rushing score of the year for the Tampa QB.

(4:21PM) Many of the early games are going final. The Redskins held off Cleveland 31-20, Houston defeated The Titans 27-20 and Atlanta outscored the Panthers 48-30 in Julio Jones big game.

(4:18PM) The first touchdown of the late afternoon games comes from the Denver Broncos. Following an interception of Bucs QB Jameis Winston, Denver QB Trevor Siemian finds WR Demaryius Thomas for the score from 11 yards out.

(4:10PM) WR Michael Crabtree has done it again, catching his third score of the day, the fourth total touchdown for Oakland QB Derek Carr. The Raiders now have the lead by one point with just over two minutes remaining.

(4:08PM) The Panthers aren't giving up yet. Veteran QB Derek Anderson has thrown another touchdown, this time to WR Philly Brown. Carolina is still down by eight points. Anderson has 163 passing yards and two scores in his limited action.

(4:02PM) The first final of the afternoon is a shocker as the Buffalo Bills shut out the Patriots in New England. The Pats never got anything going on offense. Bills RB LeSean McCoy had over 100 total yards and a touchdown. Another final in as the Bears hang on and defeate Detroit 17-14.

(4:00PM) The Ravens are attempting a comeback against Oakland after a 52-yard score from QB Joe Flacco to veteran WR Steve Smith. Smith has six catches for 101 yards on the day. Baltimore then scored again, giving them the lead with under four minutes to play on the RB Terrance West touchdown run.

(3:52PM) In what was shaping up to be the best game of WR Julio Jones career, he had yet to find the end zone. That just changed as QB Matt Ryan hit him in stride and Jones did the rest, going for 75 yards and the score. That gives him a dozen catches for 300 yards! He's up to 48 fantasy points on the day.

(3:46PM) The Redskins have opened up their lead over the Cleveland Browns thanks to a RB Matt Jones touchdown. Jones has 115 rushing yards on the day, just his second career game with over 100 rushing yards.

(3:42PM) Led by backup QB Derek Anderson, the Panthers marched down the field quickly, thanks to a 48-yard gain by WR Devin Funchess.  Anderson found TE Greg Olsen for a touchdown and a two-point conversion to cut the Atlanta lead to just eight points. Starting QB Cam Newton is being evaluated for a concussion.

(3:36PM) The Raiders are cruising and QB Derek Carr just threw his third touchdown pass of the day, the second to WR Michael Crabtree. Carr has just 132 passing yards in the game, but those three scoring passes should satisfy his fantasy owners and Raiders fans alike. For Crabtree, this is his sixth career two touchdown game.

(3:34PM) Panthers QB Cam Newton took a hard hit from Falcons rookie S Deion Jones on his two-point conversion run and now he is headed to the locker room. This game is still within reach as Carolina trails by 16 early in the fourth quarter, so if he's healthy enough, we should see Newton back on the field.

(3:31PM) Bears RB Jeremy Langford might have lost his starting job going forward. While he sits out with an ankle injury, rookie RB Jordan Howard over 100 total yards and has been heavily involved in the pass game as well.

(3:28PM) The Panthers are getting waxed in Atlanta, but they did just get their first offenseive touchdown of the day as QB Cam Newton found his big WR Kelvin Benjamin for a score. Newton has just 165 passing yards on the day, along with the score. Newton was able to run the ball in for a two-point conversion.

(3:27PM) RB Christine Michael has been quiet today, rushing for 37 yards on a dozen carries, but he just took a pass from QB Russell Wilson to the house to put Seattle ahead 24-10. The Jets will be forced to throw the ball for the remaining of the fourth quarter.

(3:25PM) Houston rookie WR Will Fuller is developing a reputation for making the big play and he's done it again, this time on special teams. Fuller returned a Titans punt 67 yards for a go-ahead touchdown.

(3:19PM) I haven't mentioned the Patriots much today and that is because they have yet to score a point on the day. If there is any silver lining, TE Rob Gronkowsi did make his first catch of the season. RB LeGarrette Blount has just 34 rushing yards and WR Julian Edelman has one grab for 16 yards on the day.

(3:12PM) It has been a slow day, even a slow year, for the Ravens offense. They just scored their first touchdown of the day as QB Joe Flacco took a sneak into the end zone. The Ravens then went for a two-point conversion, but Flacco was intercepted. They trail 14-12.

(3:09PM) It's not all good news for the Bears though, as second-year WR Kevin White was sent to the locker room with an apparent leg injury.

(3:06PM) The Lions get stopped in the red zone and had to settle for a field goal on their last possession and the Bears just made them pay for it. QB Brian Hoyer found TE Zach Miller for a score to give the Bears a 14-6 lead late in the third quarter. Miller has posted a 3/31/1 line on the day.

(3:04PM) Atlanta WR Julio Jones is on fire today, with 10 receptions for 216 yards with five minutes remaining in the third quarter. It was WR Aldrick Robinson though who caught the latest touchdown pass from QB Matt Ryan. Ryan now has over 400 passing yards and three scores.

(3:00PM) Other late game inactives include WR Dez Bryant, TE Vance McDonald and TE Antonio Gates. None of these are surprising based on the week's practice reports.

(2:55PM) The late game inactives are beginning to roll in. Broncos TE Virgil Green will miss the game against Tampa Bay, while Saints WR Willie Snead is active after missing Week Three.

(2:50PM) Lions WR Golden Tate has been terrible this year and now the Lions have left him on the sidelines as the second half begins. Veteran WR Andre Roberts is on the field in his place. Tate has caught just one of his four targets on the day.

(2:48PM) The Falcons offense has been on point today and they've extended their lead over Carolina. QB Matt Ryan found rookie TE Austin Hooper for a 42-yard score to put Atlanta ahead 24-10. Ryan now has 330 passing yards and two scores.

(2:41PM) After two weeks, Panthers WR Kelvin Benjamin was the WR1 in fantasy scoring. Last week, he went without a catch. This week, with Carolina trailing at Atlanta, Benjamin has just one catch and QB Cam Newton has only looked his way once.

(2:25PM) The Titans have fought back to tie the game, riding RB DeMarco Murray to a 17-17 game. Murray rushed for his second score of the game and now has 70 total yards on the day. He's the top scoring running back on the day so far.

(2:21PM) The Jets and QB Ryan Fitzpatrick have been struggling all day, but the quarterback just found his star WR Brandon Marshall for a 17-yard touchdown, bring the Jets within four points of Seattle. Marshall has three receptions for 72 yards on the day.

(2:19PM) I mentioned Lions RB Dwayne Washington earlier and he did finally get some playing time, carrying the ball twice for six yards, Unfortunately, he left with game with an ankle injury and is now questionable to return.

(2:10PM) Raiders QB Derek Carr only has 86 passing yards in the game so far, but he just threw his second touchdown of the day, this time finding veteran WR Michael Crabtree for a five-yard score. Crabtree has two grabs for 21 yards and the score as the Raiders lead 14-3 over Baltimore.

(2:06PM) The Texans offense has been surpringly prolific today, and they just got the ball back after QB Marcus Mariota was intercepted. The Houston lead is even more impressive considering WR DeAndre Hopkins has yet to record a catch on the day.

(2:04PM) Things haven't been going QB Russell Wilson's way this year, but he just found a wide open WR Tanner McEvoy for a long 42-yard score. The Seahawks lead 14-3 and Wilson is up to 191 passing yards and two scores.

(1:59PM) Falcons star WR Julio Jones has scored today, but he has already caught six passes for 152 yards to lead Atlanta.

(1:56PM) The talk of the NFL last week was Browns WR Terrelle Pryor and he's picking up where he left off. Pryor caught a touchdown pass from QB Cody Kessler to tie the game. Pryor has four grabs for 42 yards on the day.

(1:53PM) The Tennessee Titans put together a scoring drive, capped off with a RB DeMarco Murray two-yard touchdown run. Murray has 40 yards on the day and The Titans trail 17-10.

(1:50PM) The first defenseive score of the afternoon comes from the Carolina Panthers as QB Matt Ryan's pass was tipped, intercepted and returned. Atlanta leads 14-7.

(1:48PM) RB Isaiah Crowell has looked like a different player for the Browns this year and he just scored a touchdown, cutting the Washington lead in half. Crowell has 39 rushing yards on seven carries, along with the touchdown.

(1:44PM) The Seahawks were desperate for running back help and they signed former Saints RB CJ Spiller this week. Today, QB Russell Wilson hit Spiller for a touchdown to give the team the lead over the Jets. With Thomas Rawls out a month and rookie CJ Prosise still not ready too contribute, we could see more of Spiller in the coming weeks.

(1:37PM) RB Devonta Freeman broke out of his mini-slump last week and he's at it again. He just scored from 13 yards out to put the Falcons up 14-0. Freeman has 33 total yards on five early touches. His backfield mate, RB Tevin Coleman has one catch for 11 yards.

(1:35PM) The Raiders have the lead over Baltimore after QB Derek Carr hit a diving WR Seth Roberts for the first score of the game. WR Amari Cooper has four targets on the day already, but as usual, Carr looked elsewhere once Oakland neared the paint.

(1:33PM) There were multiple reports in recent days that the Lions would reward rookie RB Dwayne Washington with a larger role, but so far, that hasn't bene the case. Washington hasn't touched the ball and RB Theo Riddick has all of the touches out of the backfield early in the day.

(1:29PM) It must be Jordan Reed day. Redskins QB Kirk Cousins found his tight end for the second touchdown of the day, putting Washington in the lead 14-0. Reed already has over 20 fantasy points on the day.

(1:24PM) QB Brock Osweiler has the Texans off to a great start and just threw his second touchdown of the day, this time to rookie WR Will Fuller, who already has a 3/26/1 stat line on the day.

(1:21PM) RB LeSean McCoy is getting a lock of work early for Buffalo, touching the ball six times on the opening drive. He took one of those touches, a pass from QB Tyrod Taylor, in for a seven-yard score, putting the Bills on top opf the Patriots 7-0. The Pats had a QB Jacoby Brissett to WR Julian Edelman 80+ yard play called back early in the game.

(1:19PM) For the Bears, RB Jordan Howard is back in the game and QB Brian Hoyer connected with WR Eddie Royal for the first score of the day. The Bears lead the Lions 7-0.

(1:18PM) Falcons WR Julio Jones is off to a hot start with three receptions for 51 yards, but it was TE Jacob Tamme who found paydirt on a pass from QB Matt Ryan. Atlanta leads the Panthers 7-0 early.

(1:17PM) With WR Eric Decker out, QB Ryan Fitzpatrick looked to upstart WR Quincy Enunwa early and the Jets marched into the red zone before PK Nick Folk gave the Jets a 3-0 lead over visiting Seattle.

(1:14PM) Rookie RB Jordan Howard is the Bears new starting back after Jeremy Langford suffered an ankle injury last week. Howard himself is already banged up in this game, heading to the sidelines with what appeared to be a groin injury. Chicago signed veteran Joique Bell this week and he's next in line.

(1:11PM) Many were expecting a big day from QB Kirk Cousins and the Washington Redskins today as they match up with Cleveland. Cousins has the Skins in front early after he hit TE Jordan Reed with a scoring pass. Five players have already made a catch for Washington and both RBs Matt Jones and Chris Thompson have found room to run on the Browns defense.

(1:08PM) The Texans are off to a hot start as they quickly moved the ball down the field and QB Brock Osweiler found TE CJ Fiedorowicz for the score, putting Houston up 7-0. RB Lamar Miller had three carries for 24 yards on the opening drive.

(12:58PM) There was speculation all week about who the Patriots would send out at the quarterback position. Early reports suggested QB Jimmy Garoppolo would return, but instead it will be rookie QB Jacoby Brissett facing the Bills.

(12:51PM) The Jaguars did indeed hold on to defeat the Colts by a score of 30-27 as QB Blake Bortles posted his best game of the season coming away with over 25 fantasy points.

(12:47PM) There have been few surprises as far as the early inactives. Among those players not suiting up today are WR Eric Decker, TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins, WR Josh Doctson and RB Jonathan Stewart. Ravens RB Justin Forsett is also inactive after being demoted. Expect to see plenty of Terrance West and Buck Allen today against Oakland.

(12:43PM) If you're just waking up after a long Saturday night, you've already missed the first game of the day as the Jaguars lead the struggling Colts late in the game. Colts QB Andrew Luck looked lost in the first half but has thrown a pair of deep scores to WR TY Hilton and WR Phillip Dorsett in the second half. Both of QB Blake Bortles top WRs Allen Robinson and Allen Hurns connected for scores on the day.
