Travis Zajac tallied a hat trick on Thursday and added two assists Saturday. He was owned in 11% of Yahoo leagues when he was featured last week and now he is up to 19%, which means he is still readily available. Rickard Rakell is up to 38% owned after he scored another two goals in three outings this week. Kyle Turris, who was also featured last week, remains at 35%. He hasn’t scored a goal in four straight games, but he has dished out three assists over that time to give him 16 points in 25 matches.

Derek Stepan (NYR) - C - Owned in 39% of Yahoo leagues

It’s been a uneven start for Stepan, especially in the goal department, but he has accounted for 18 points in 26 games. He has begun December on a high note with four points in two contests and has the potential to keep churning out points alongside Mats Zuccarello and Chris Kreider.

Sam Reinhart (BUF) - C, RW - Owned in 30% of Yahoo leagues

Reinhart was a popular sleeper candidate going into the year, but his fantasy value took a hit when Jack Eichel was injured prior to the start of 2016-17. Now that Eichel is back in the lineup, Buffalo’s offense has improved substantially and Reinhart has been on a roll. The 21-year-old forward has two goals and three assists over a four-game point streak. Eichel’s return has also revitalized the power play for the Sabres and Reinhart has been on the top unit along with Ryan O'Reilly, Kyle Okposo and Rasmus Ristolainen. He is up to 14 points in 24 contests and finished 2015-16 on a scoring tear when he played regularly with Eichel. The same thing appears to be happening now, so take advantage and pick him up.

Scott Darling (CHI) - G - Owned in 24% of Yahoo leagues

Darling will be Chicago’s starter for the next few weeks after Corey Crawford underwent an appendectomy. Crawford is expected to be sidelined for two to three weeks. Darling will get the benefit of starting regularly for the Western Conference leading Blackhawks. He has a 4-1-1 record this year even though his peripherals haven’t been great. Still, you shouldn’t be too concerned with his 2.81 goals-against average and .907 save percentage because he has a great opportunity to succeed during Crawford’s absence.

Evander Kane (BUF) - LW - Owned in 20% of Yahoo leagues

If Sam Reinhart isn’t available then perhaps Kane is sitting on the wire following his sluggish start to the year. Kane was injured in Buffalo’s season opener and he earned just three assists in 10 matches during November after he returned to the lineup. However, he has recorded a point in each of his last three games and he finally got his first goal of the year on Saturday night against Boston. Kane is playing with Eichel and Reinhart at even strength and he is seeing time on the second power-play unit.

Mikko Koivu (MIN) - C - Owned in 19% of Yahoo leagues

Minnesota’s top line has been struggling to produce lately, but Koivu has continued to chip in points from the second unit with Mikael Granlund and Jason Zucker. The veteran center has collected three goals and three assists in the last six contests. Koivu has accounted for 12 points in 23 outings this year. As a bonus, Zucker is available in 96% of Yahoo leagues and he is riding a five-game point streak, with one goal and five helpers over that span.

Radim Vrbata (ARI) - RW - Owned in 11% of Yahoo leagues

Vrbata has generated two goals and three assists during a five-game point spree. He has been a consistent producer for the Coyotes this campaign, while leading the team in scoring with eight goals and 17 points in 23 matches. Vrbata hasn’t gone more than two games without picking up a point in 2016-17 and deserves more credit for his efforts. Additionally, he has piled up 69 shots and he has contributed four power-play points.

Conor Sheary (PIT) - LW, RW - Owned in 7% of Yahoo leagues

Sheary has maintained his spot on the top line with Sidney Crosby and Patric Hornqvist. The 24-year-old winger has posted three goals and one assist in the past six games. He doesn’t get much power-play time, but being a top-six forward on the Penguins has helped him register 12 points in 18 games this season.

Kris Versteeg (CGY) - LW, RW - Owned in 3% of Yahoo leagues

Versteeg has been heating up recently with two goals and two helpers in the last five contests. He has been skating alongside Sean Monahan and Troy Brouwer, while Johnny Gaudreau has been out of action with a fractured finger. Versteeg, who has had injury woes of his own this campaign, has a three-game point streak going into Sunday night’s action and could be worthy of a flyer.

Anthony Mantha (DET) - RW - Owned in 4% of Yahoo leagues

Mantha is making a strong case for himself to remain in the lineup for the Red Wings once the team returns to full health. He has provided three goals and six points in 10 games since he was brought up from the minors on November 11th. Mantha has recorded two power-play points and 26 shots as well. The 22-year-old forward has been skating alongside Henrik Zetterberg and Tomas Tatar.

Kevin Fiala (NSH) - LW, RW - Owned in 1% of Yahoo leagues

Fiala was demoted to the AHL in early November and he returned to the big club last weekend. He has looked like a different player during his latest NHL stint. Fiala has potted three goals in his last two appearances and he has racked up 11 shots, while skating on the second line with Craig Smith and Mike Ribeiro. The 20-year-old has plenty of potential, but he hasn’t put it all together yet at the NHL level. Keep an eye on him or give him a shot if you are in a very deep league.
