Hopefully, you snagged Victor Olofsson when you had the chance, as he is currently owned in 64% of Yahoo leagues.  His ownership was just 28% when he was featured on Waiver Wired last week.  Kevin Shattenkirk’s ownership ballooned from 27% to 51%, while Sammy Blais jumped from 6% to 39% and Erik Haula went from 13% to 36%.  Neal Pionk is still available in 78% of Yahoo leagues, while Jakub Vrana is sitting at 20% ownership.

Jonathan Drouin (MON) - C, LW - Owned in 25% of Yahoo leagues

Drouin has generated two goals and six points in five games this season, which ties him for first on the Montreal Canadiens in scoring.  He has produced at least one point in each game and he has been getting more shots on net recently, with nine coming in the past two matches.  Drouin has fit in nicely with Jesperi Kotkaniemi and Joel Armia, while ranking fourth on the team in power-play time per game (2:47).  It’s looking like he could be worth a long-term investment.

Justin Schultz (PIT) - D - Owned in 22% of Yahoo leagues

Schultz has recorded one power-play assist in each of the last two games and he has three helpers in the past four contests.  He has been playing on Pittsburgh’s top power-play unit alongside Kris Letang because of Evgeni Malkin’s injury.  Schultz is also tied for third on the Penguins with five blocks and he is tied for the team lead with 18 shots on goal.

Josh Bailey (NYI) - LW, RW - Owned in 20% of Yahoo leagues

Bailey has accounted for two goals and two assists in the last four games.  He has produced two points with the man advantage and ranks third on the Islanders in average power-play time per match (1:36).  Bailey, who has been playing on the Islanders’ best offensive line so far with Brock Nelson, could get back to the 60-point mark this season.

Ryan Dzingel (CAR) - LW, RW - Owned in 19% of Yahoo leagues

Dzingel is tied for the third-most points on the Hurricanes with five through six games.  He has contributed two goals and two assists in the last four matches.  Dzingel has been playing alongside Erik Haula and Martin Necas on what has been a productive combination.  He has also earned two points, including one goal, on the power play.

Zack Kassian (EDM) - RW - Owned in 17% of Yahoo leagues

Kassian made an appearance on Waiver Wired last week when he was owned in 9% of Yahoo leagues.  He is up to three goals and five points in five games.  Kassian’s ice time has been on the rise and he’s still playing with the top players on the Edmonton Oilers.  His four-game point streak ended on Saturday, but Kassian has played well alongside Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl.

Ilya Samsonov (WSH) - G - Owned in 12% of Yahoo leagues

Samsonov has looked very good in two appearances for the Capitals this season.  He has stopped 49 of 51 shots in a pair of victories to begin his NHL career, while allowing just one goal against in both outings. The 22-year-old netminder will probably get more playing time this coming week with Washington set to play four times.  There are no back-to-backs during that span, but his play so far could warrant a split with Braden Holtby.  Samsonov is shaping to be a solid depth option in the crease for this year.

Ilya Kovalchuk (LA) - LW, RW - Owned in 12% of Yahoo leagues

Kovalchuk has had a productive start to the 2019-20 season with two goals and four assists following four games.  He ranks second on the Kings in scoring and he has chipped in two points on the power play, which ties him with Drew Doughty and Anze Kopitar for the team lead.  Kovalchuk is well on his way to having a bounce-back season after he struggled in his return to the NHL last year amid some questionable usage.

Patrick Marleau (SJ) - C, LW - Owned in 11% of Yahoo leagues

Marleau rejoined the San Jose Sharks on a one-year contract earlier this week after sitting in free-agent limbo to start the year.  He made an immediate impact with a two-goal performance in his season debut, while skating on the top line with Logan Couture and Timo Meier.  He is also operated on the second power-play unit, which is where he scored his first goal of the contest.  Marleau finished the match with six shots and 15:30 of ice time.  The 40-year-old veteran appears to be energized to back with the Sharks and if he continues to play in key spots then he could be a solid pickup.

Marcus Johansson (BUF) - C, LW - Owned in 8% of Yahoo leagues

Johansson has two goals and two assists through five games for the Sabres.  He has been a good fit centering Buffalo’s second line alongside Jeff Skinner.  The bulk of the team’s offense so far has been supplied by the top line, but Johansson and Skinner are providing some much-needed secondary scoring.

Andre Burakovsky (COL) - LW, RW - Owned in 7% of Yahoo leagues

Burakovsky has two goals and two assists in four games with Colorado this campaign.  He has scored the game-winning goal in each of the last two contests.  Burakovsky has been playing on  the second line with Nazem Kadri, who finally got his first goal with the Avalanche on Saturday night.
