Waiver Wired: Krejci worth scooping up

Tony DeAngelo’s ownership has increased from 25% to 44% from a week ago.  Jean-Gabriel Pageau was a hot commodity as well, going from 32% to 60%.  Robby Fabbri is still available in 84% of Yahoo leagues.

David Krejci (BOS) - C - Owned in 26% of Yahoo leagues

Krejci appeared on Waiver Wired last week when he was owned in 23% of Yahoo leagues.  He is still widely available and that will probably change quickly.  Krejci has two goals and eight assists in his last nine outings.  He has collected four helpers during a three-game point streak.  Krejci centered Boston’s top line on Saturday between Brad Marchand and David Pastrnak due to Patrice Bergeron’s absence because of a lower-body injury.  Even if Bergeron returns quickly, Krejci is still worthy of a spot on most fantasy rosters, especially if you are in need of assists.

Jared McCann (PIT) - C, LW - Owned in 22% of Yahoo leagues

McCann has accounted for four goals and four assists in the last eight games.  He has been filling in at center on the second line with Sidney Crosby out of the lineup following core muscle surgery.  McCann is also logging time on Pittsburgh’s top power-play unit, which gives him exposure to Evgeni Malkin and Jake Guentzel.  He is definitely worth scooping up as a replacement for Crosby owners.

Andre Burakovsky (COL) - LW, RW - Owned in 22% of Yahoo leagues

Burakovsky had a strong start to the season and he’s warming up offensively again with four goals and three assists in the past five games.  He has been playing alongside Nazem Kadri on the second line, but moved up to the top combination with Nathan MacKinnon on Saturday after Matt Calvert was injured.  Burakovsky has also been seeing action on Colorado’s top power-play unit.  He is tied for third on the team with five points on the man advantage.

Bryan Rust (PIT) - LW, RW - Owned in 19% of Yahoo leagues

Rust was owned in 11% of Yahoo leagues when he appeared on Waiver Wired a week ago.  He has six goals and 10 points in nine games this campaign.  He didn’t make his season debut until Oct. 26 due to a hand injury, but he has been all over the scoresheet since his return. Rust has been playing alongside Evgeni Malkin and Jake Guentzel on the top line of the Penguins.

Oskar Lindblom (PHI) - LW - Owned in 19% of Yahoo leagues

Lindblom has taken his game to another level this season after showing some potential during his first full NHL campaign in 2018-19.  He leads the Flyers with nine goals and ranks second on the club with 16 points through 20 games.  Lindblom has averaged a career-high 17:16 of ice time per match, while skating on the second line with Sean Couturier and Travis Konecny.  The trio has been Philadelphia’s most consistent and productive combination so far in 2019-20.

Phillip Danault (MON) - C - Owned in 11% of Yahoo leagues

Danault has been a steady point producer on Montreal’s top line this year.  He has contributed six goals and 15 points in 20 games, while skating between Tomas Tatar, who leads the Canadiens with 20 points, and Brendan Gallagher, who leads the team with nine goals.  Danault has six points in the last five games, including one goal and four assists during a three-game point streak.  He reached career highs in 2018-19 with 41 helpers and 53 points in 81 contests.  Danault is currently on pace to surpass that point total.

Adam Fox (NYR) - D - Owned in 10% of Yahoo leagues

Fox had a five-game point streak prior to being held off the scoresheet in the last two matches.  However, he finally gave poolies a glimpse of the offensive upside he brings to the table.  Fox has three goals and eight points in the past 11 contests.  He has also been seeing time on the top power-play unit of the Rangers.  Fox has plenty of value in keeper formats, but he’ll need to get back on the scoresheet this coming week to be worthy of rostering in standard leagues.  Keep him on your watch list at the very least.

Alex Killorn (TB) - LW, RW - Owned in 8% of Yahoo leagues

Killorn has generated three goals and three assists during a four-game point streak.  He has two goals and one helper on the power play during that span, while seeing time on the top combination with Steven Stamkos, Brayden Point, Nikita Kucherov and Victor Hedman.  Killorn has supplied five goals and 10 points in the past 11 games.

Derick Brassard (NYI) - C, LW - Owned in 5% of Yahoo leagues

Brassard has been a consistent producer following a sluggish start with the Islanders.  He has racked up six goals and 12 points in the last 10 contests.  Brassard has one goal and five helpers during a three-game point streak.  He has been clicking on the second line with Brock Nelson and Anthony Beauvillier (owned in 4% of Yahoo leagues), who has heated up as well lately.

Cody Eakin (VGK) - C - Owned in 1% of Yahoo leagues

Eakin has been promoted to the top-six forward group of the Golden Knights.  He has been playing between Jonathan Marchessault and Mark Stone, which will give his fantasy value a significant boost.  Eakin picked up an assist on a goal by Marchessault in Saturday’s loss to Los Angeles.  He only has four helpers in 17 appearances this campaign, but could be worthy of a flier during his time on one of Vegas' top-two lines.
