Sami Vatanen went from being owned in 28% of Yahoo leagues last week when he appeared on Waiver Wired to 40%, while Daniel Sedin jumped from 36% to 46%. Sam Reinhart is still available in 61% of Yahoo leagues.

Now, let’s go into this week’s recommendations:

Paul Stastny (WPG) - C - Owned in 38% of Yahoo leagues

Stastny appeared on Waiver Wired a week ago, but his fantasy stock has only gone up marginally. He was owned in 34% of Yahoo leagues, but that should change quickly. Stastny has been productive with the Jets since he was acquired from St. Louis at the trade deadline.  He has two goals and five assists in six appearances.  Stastny also has a plus-8 rating, 10 shots and three power-play points. His importance to his new team went up a notch after Mark Scheifele went down due to injury. Stastny is also playing alongside red-hot wingers Patrik Laine and Nikolaj Ehlers.

Nick Bjugstad (FLA) - C, RW - Owned in 32% of Yahoo leagues

Bjugstad was also on last week’s edition of Waiver Wired when he was owned in just 9% of Yahoo leagues. He has been firing on all cylinders with 17 points (six goals, 11 assists) in the past 18 games. Bjugstad’s five-game point streak came to an end on Saturday, but he remains a strong option going into Florida’s three upcoming games this week. He has been excellent on the team’s top line with Aleksander Barkov and Evgenii Dadonov. You should also keep an eye on Frank Vatrano, who made his Panthers debut Saturday on a line with Vincent Trocheck and Jonathan Huberdeau. He scored a goal, posted five shots and logged 19:05 of ice time in the team’s 4-3 shootout win over the New York Rangers.

Ryan Nugent-Hopkins (EDM) - C- Owned in 23% of Yahoo leagues

Nugent-Hopkins got back in the lineup earlier this month after missing 18 games due to a rib injury. He has registered two goals and two assists in four outings since his return to action. Nugent-Hopkins skated on the wing alongside Connor McDavid on Saturday night. If this becomes a line that sticks for the Oilers then his fantasy value increases substantially.

Pierre-Luc Dubois (CBJ) - C, LW - Owned in 21% of Yahoo leagues

Dubois has recorded points in spurts during his rookie season. He has been hot again recently with one goal and five helpers in the past four games. Dubois is still skating with Artemi Panarin, who is top point producer on the Blue Jackets. He can also help out if your league counts hits as a positive.

Riley Nash (BOS) - C - Owned in 20% of Yahoo leagues

Nash has been filling for injured center Patrice Bergeron on Boston’s top line. He has generated three goals and five helpers in six outings since Bergeron went down with a fractured foot. Nash has looked great between Brad Marchand and David Pastrnak. He is definitely worthy of a pickup. Bruins teammate Jake DeBrusk, who is playing with David Krejci and Rick Nash,  deserves some consideration as well.  He has been hot as well with three goals and six assists in his past eight games.

Nolan Patrick (PHI) - C - Owned in 18% of Yahoo leagues

Patrick has accounted for five goals and five assists in the last 12 matches. He has contributed an assist in each of the past three games. The rookie center has become a viable fantasy option since he was moved to a line with Jakub Voracek.

Ryan Spooner (NYR) - C, LW - Owned in 15% of Yahoo leagues

Spooner has been a great acquisition for the Rangers since he was obtained from Boston in the Rick Nash trade. He has actually outproduced Nash with 12 points on two goals and 10 assists in seven games. Spooner has meshed nicely alongside Kevin Hayes (owned in 14% of Yahoo leagues), who has compiled nine goals and 15 points in his last 15 contests. Mats Zuccarello joined their combination recently. Spooner has also been logging time on New York’s second power-play unit.

Ryan Hartman (NSH) - C, LW, RW - Owned in 9% of Yahoo leagues

Hartman has been a superb under-the-radar pickup for the Predators since he was landed from Chicago at the trade deadline. He didn’t come cheap in the trade, but he has already made an impact with two goals, two assists, eight shots and eight penalty minutes in seven appearances. He has logged some time on the second line, but he will probably spend most of his action on the third unit unless Nashville decides to continue to rest their players down the stretch.

Joonas Donskoi (SJS) - LW, RW - Owned in 2% of Yahoo leagues

Donskoi has been on a roll since the trade deadline. He has one goal, four assists and 11 shots in five games. Donskoi’s four-game point streak ended on Saturday, but he remains a solid potential addition. He has been playing alongside Joe Pavelski and deadline acquisition Evander Kane. The Sharks have four games on tap for this week.

Carl Soderberg (COL) - C - Owned in 2% of Yahoo leagues

Soderberg is another player to consider, especially if your options are particularly limited. His recent scoring surge is hard to ignore. Soderberg has generated four goals and four assists in the last six matches. He has been held off the scoresheet once during that span. Colorado has four games this coming week, so Soderberg will have plenty of opportunities to continue his recent hot streak.
