Week 14 will be served some extremely wet weather after the NFL schedule enjoyed dry, comfortable climates last week. On Sunday, there will be heavy precipitation found on the West coast and throughout the central part of the United States, from the Great Lakes all the way down through Texas. The expected precipitation will impact numerous games on the Week 14 NFL schedule, and you will find breakdowns of all 15 remaining Week 14 games below. Grab an umbrella and strap up those boots as we splash through weather forecasts around the NFL.
Wet Weather Watch
The soggy conditions found in the middle of the country on Sunday will have the biggest impact on the following three games.
San Diego at Kansas City (1:00 PM): Temperatures of 63 degrees will be tolerable on Sunday at Arrowhead Stadium, but rain will be making an appearance during this game between the Kansas City Chiefs and San Diego Chargers. A 100 percent chance of precipitation is in the Kansas City forecast on Sunday, so this game will be a soggy one. Wind will also be of concern in this AFC West battle, with gusts expected to be between 15 and 20 mph. The wind levels are enough to significantly downgrade both Cairo Santos and Josh Lambo, who can be swapped out for safer kicker options. As for the remainder of the fantasy players in this contest, the passing games of the Chiefs and Chargers aren’t overflowing with quality options anyhow, especially on the San Diego side with Stevie Johnson and Dontrelle Inman out. A slight downgrade to both of these passing attacks is warranted, as extra running game work will likely be in the game plan of both teams if conditions become sloppy on Sunday.
Washington at Chicago (1:00 PM): Rain showers will also be found in Chicago on Sunday, to go with 61 degree temperatures. Wind will impact this game as well, with 20-25 mph gusts expected at Soldier Field on Sunday. The wind concerns are more than enough reason to cut Robbie Gould and Dustin Hopkins for kickers playing in safer environments, and both passing games should be looked at closely as well. With the wind levels expected to be over 20 mph, any borderline fantasy options in the Pierre Garcon/Eddie Royal/Zach Miller range can probably be benched for safer options. Top-tier options like Jordan Reed and Alshon Jeffery should still be started however, and both running games will probably see more work if the rain showers and wind are as heavy as expected.
Dallas at Green Bay (4:25 PM): Green Bay will see rain on Sunday, but wind levels in the Sunday forecast will be somewhat manageable at 14 mph. Temperatures will be comfortable for Green Bay in December, as 56 degree readings will be found on thermometers at Lambeau Field. The Dallas offense is a wreck right now with Matt Cassel under center and Dez Bryant will still be started like normal, leaving no major adjustments necessary. On the Green Bay side, Aaron Rodgers and his receiving weapons can be started like usual with wind levels expected to stay below 20 mph, but be aware that this game could get soggy.
The following Week 14 games have little or no weather concerns expected on Sunday.
Buffalo at Philadelphia (1:00 PM): Cloudy skies will be found in Philadelphia on Sunday, but conditions will be very comfortable for a December day, with 70 degree temperatures in the forecast when the Eagles host the Buffalo Bills. Virtually no wind will be blowing through Lincoln Financial Field on Sunday, so conditions will be excellent for all fantasy options in this contest.
San Francisco at Cleveland (1:00 PM): Early morning fog will be present in Cleveland on Sunday, but conditions should clear with cloudy skies and 67 degree temperatures forecasted for the area on Sunday afternoon. No significant wind interference is expected during this game between the Browns and 49ers, so feel free to roll out all relevant fantasy options in this game as usual.
New Orleans at Tampa Bay (1:00 PM): Three Week 14 games will be hosted in Florida, and the region will be enjoying warm temperatures on Sunday during NFL action. The Tampa area will see partly cloudy skies with 83 degree temperatures expected at kickoff between the Buccaneers and Saints. Winds are expected to hover around 12 mph on Sunday, which will not require any major fantasy lineup alterations.
Tennessee at NY Jets (1:00 PM): Rain is expected to move into the New York area on Monday, but Sunday afternoon should be dry when the Jets host the visiting Tennessee Titans. Cloudy skies will be found above MetLife Stadium, with 65 degree temperatures present at kickoff. Winds of just five mph won’t be a cause for concern in this game, so all fantasy options here can be trusted as normal.
Pittsburgh at Cincinnati (1:00 PM): The Cincinnati area will see rain on Saturday and late Sunday night, but a dry pocket of weather is in the forecast when the Bengals will host the Pittsburgh Steelers. Temperatures of 67 degrees and overcast skies will be found during this AFC North battle, with winds of only nine mph. As long as rain showers from Sunday night’s forecast don’t creep into the afternoon, all fantasy options can be trusted in what should be a high-scoring affair.
Indianapolis at Jacksonville (1:00 PM): Beautiful December weather will be found in Jacksonville on Sunday, as the Jaguars will host the Indianapolis Colts under partly cloudy skies with temperatures reaching 81 degrees. Winds of 13 mph will be worth monitoring, but should not climb to levels that will significantly impact kicking or passing games.
Atlanta at Carolina (1:00 PM): The Charlotte area will see very warm December weather, with 73 degree temperatures in the forecast for Sunday. Early morning sun will give way to overcast skies at kickoff, with no rain and minimal wind in the forecast for this game between the Atlanta Falcons and undefeated Carolina Panthers.
Seattle at Baltimore (1:00 PM): The Seattle Seahawks will visit Baltimore on Sunday, where they will be welcomed by warm 70 degree temperatures and mostly cloudy skies. No major wind interference is expected during this game, so all fantasy options will be good to go in this matchup.
Oakland at Denver (4:05 PM): Denver will see snow on Saturday, but no precipitation is expected in the area on Sunday as temperatures climb back up to 46 degrees. The conditions in this game will get colder as the day progresses, with thermometers showing 29 degrees by nightfall. Winds of just seven mph are in the forecast, leaving chilly temperatures as the main concern in this game between the Broncos and Raiders. No major fantasy lineup adjustments are required in this matchup.
NY Giants at Miami (8:30 PM, Mon): The Miami area will see rain showers on Sunday, but the weather is expected to clear up around Sun Life Stadium on Monday when the Dolphins host the visiting New York Giants. Daytime temperatures of 82 degrees will lower to around 72 degrees at kickoff, with mostly clear skies in the forecast. Very mild winds are expected during this game, leaving no concern for the fantasy options in this contest.
Home Teams Are Dome Teams
Two Week 14 games will be played in domes or stadiums with retractable roofs, including a matchup between New England and Houston, with the Patriots looking to avoid a three-game losing skid.
Detroit at St. Louis (1:00 PM)
New England at Houston (8:30 PM)
