Wrapup: Kansas Speedway

Two NASCAR top series events were held this past weekend at the Kansas Speedway. On Friday night, the Camping World Truck Series featured the Toyota Tundra 250. On Saturday night, the 1.5-mile oval in Kansas City, Kansas hosted the Sprint Cup Series Go Bowling 400. The XFINITY Series returns to action next weekend (May 14) for the Ollie's Bargain Outlet 200 at the Dover International Speedway. The results and upcoming scheduled events for the ARCA Racing Series and the NASCAR Home Tracks are also shown below.

NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS)
Time Trials:
Martin Truex Jr. (#78 Bass Pro Shops/TRACKER Boats Toyota Camry) won the Coors Light Pole Award for the Go Bowling 400 with a lap of 190.921 mph. This is his eighth pole in 380 NSCS races. It is his first pole and sixth top-10 start in 2016 and his first pole in 16 races at Kansas Speedway (KS). Matt Kenseth (second) posted his eighth top-10 start of 2016 and his ninth in 21 races at KS. Denny Hamlin (third) posted his eighth top-10 start at KS. Ryan Blaney (seventh) was the fastest qualifying rookie. Truex led 172 laps and finished the 267-lap race in 14th place.
Did Not Qualify: NONE, only 40 entries for the 40 car field.
Winner: Kyle Busch (#18 M&M's Red Nose Toyota Camry) won the Go Bowling 400, his 37th victory in 401 NSCS races. This is his third victory and ninth top-10 finish in 2016. It is his first victory and fifth top-10 finish in 17 races at KS. Kevin Harvick (second) posted his 10th top-10 finish in 21 races at KS and his ninth top-10 finish in 2016. Kurt Busch (third) posted his seventh top-10 finish in 21 races at KS.

Time Trials:
John Wes Townley (#05 Jive Communications Chevrolet Silverado) won the Keystone Light Pole Award for the Toyota Tundra 250 at Kansas Speedway (KS) with a lap of 177.253 mph. This is his first pole in 96 NCWTS races. It is his third top-10 start in 2016. William Byron (second) posted his second top-10 start of 2016. Byron, the fastest qualifying rookie, is making his first start at KS. Tyler Reddick (third) posted his first top-10 start at KS and his second in four races this season. Townley led one lap, was involved in an early wreck and finished the race 21 laps down in 26th place.
Did Not Qualify: #6 Norm Benning and #4 Mike Harmon.
Winner: William Byron (#9 Liberty University Toyota Tundra) won Friday night's NCWTS Toyota Tundra 250 at KS. This is his first victory in five NCWTS races and his second top-10 finish in 2016. Matt Crafton (second) posted his eighth top-10 finish in 16 races at KS. Daniel Hemric (third) posted his second top-10 finish in two races at KS.
