Wrapup: Richmond Int'l Raceway

The Richmond International Raceway (RIR) hosted two races for NASCAR’s top series this past week. On Friday night, the XFINITY Series ran its ToyotaCare 250. The Sprint Cup featured the Toyota Owners 400 at the 0.75-mile oval in Virginia on Saturday night. The Camping World Truck Series will return to action on May 8 with the Toyota Tundra 250 at Kansas Speedway (Kansas City, KS). Latest results for the ARCA Racing Series and the NASCAR Home Tracks are also shown below.

NASCAR Sprint Cup Series
Time Trials:
Joey Logano won the Coors Light Pole Award for the Toyota Owners 400 with a lap of 21.248 seconds, 127.071 mph. This is the No. 22 Shell Pennzoil Ford Fusion driver's 11th pole in 228 NSCS races. This is his series-high third pole and eighth top-10 start in 2015 and his first pole in 13 races at RIR. Logano led 94 laps in the race and finished in fifth place.
Did Not Qualify: No. 26 Jeb Burton and No. 62 Brendan Gaughan.
Winner: Kurt Busch won the Toyota Owners 400, his 26th victory in 513 NSCS races. This is the No. 41 Haas Automation Chevrolet SS driver's first victory and third top-10 finish in 2015. This is his second victory and 11th top-10 finish in 29 races at RIR.

NASCAR XFINITY Series
Time Trials: 
Sprint Cup regular Denny Hamlin (No. 11 Toyota Camry) won the Coors Light Pole Award for the ToyotaCare 250 with a lap of 21.762 seconds, 124.069 mph. This is the No. 20 Hisense Toyota driver's 17th pole in 147 NXS races. This is his first pole and third top-10 NXS start in 2015 and his third pole in 14 NXS races at RIR.
Did Not Qualify: No. 89 Morgan Shepherd and No. 03 Johanna Long.
Winner: Denny Hamlin won the ToyotaCare 250, his 12th victory in 147 NXS races. This is the No. 20 Hisense Toyota driver's first NXS victory and third top-10 finish in 2015. It is his third victory and 10th top-10 finish in 14 NXS races at RIR. This victory was the 100th win for Toyota in the NXS. Hamlin started on the pole and led 248 laps of the 250 lap event.
