Wrapup: Texas Motor Speedway

Texas Motor Speedway (TMS) was the venue for two NASCAR top series events this past weekend. On Friday night, the XFINITY Series ran its 200-lap O'Reilly Auto Parts 300 at the 1.5-mile quad-oval in Fort Worth. The Sprint Cup featured the Duck Commander 150 on Saturday night. The Camping World Truck Series returns to action on May 6 with the Toyota Tundra 250 at Kansas Speedway. The results and upcoming scheduled events for the ARCA Racing Series and the NASCAR Home Tracks are also shown below.

NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS)
Time Trials:
Carl Edwards (#19 Stanley Toyota Camry) won the Coors Light Pole Award for the Duck Commander 500 with a lap of 194.609 mph. This is his 17th pole in 416 NSCS races and his first pole and fifth top-10 start in 2016. This is his second pole in 23 races at TMS. Joey Logano (second) posted his sixth top-10 start of 2016 and his eighth in 16 races at TMS. Martin Truex Jr. (third) posted his eighth top-10 start at TMS. It is his fourth in seven races this season. Chase Elliott (fourth) was the fastest qualifying rookie. Edwards led 124 laps and finished the 334-lap race in seventh place.
Did Not Qualify: None. Only 40 cars entered for the 40-car field.
Winner: Kyle Busch (#19 Interstate Batteries Toyota Camry) won the Duck Commander 500, his 36th victory in 397 NSCS races. This is his second victory and sixth top-10 finish in 2016 and his second victory and 11th top-10 finish in 21 races at TMS. Dale Earnhardt Jr. (second) posted his 17th top-10 finish in 28 races at TMS. It is his fourth top-10 finish in 2016. Joey Logano (third) posted his sixth top-10 finish in 16 races at TMS.

Time Trials:
Sprint Cup driver Kyle Busch won the Coors Light Pole Award for the O'Reilly Auto Parts 300 with a lap of 188.475 mph in the #18 NOS Energy Drink Toyota. This is his 51st pole in 316 NXS races. It is his third pole and fifth top-10 NXS start in 2016 and his fourth pole in 20 NXS races at TMS. Erik Jones (second) posted his sixth top-10 start of 2016 and his third in three races at TMS. Daniel Suarez (third) posted his third top-10 start at TMS. It is his sixth in six races this season.
Did Not Qualify: #10 Jeff Green.
