FanDuel Bargain Bin - Monday

Updated On: October 4, 2018, 4:04 pm ET

The NBA is buzzing this MLK Day, as usual, with 11 games spread throughout the afternoon and evening. FanDuel's "main" slate begins at 8pm, however, and this column deals only with those four games:

Matchup

Over/Under

Spread

Kings at Thunder

209

Thunder -11.5

Warriors at Cavs

234

Warriors -5.5

Pacers at Jazz

207

Jazz -4.5

Rockets at Clippers

228.5

Rockets -4.5

Every game is at least 207 over/under, but we also get a pair of sky-high projected scores, particularly the Warriors/Cavs game at 234 combined points. Here are some of the evening's best bargain-bin options, all of whom are $6,000 or cheaper -- preferably much cheaper. As usual, check prior to tip-off for the latest injury news and roster updates!

Among the mid-tier PGs tonight, I'll bet on Darren Collison ($5.3k) against the Jazz. In years past, I've faded players vs. the Jazz basically every game, but their defense isn't as formidable right now without Rudy Gobert anchoring the paint. Utah has given up the 8th-most value to opposing PGs this season, and they’re actually 1st over the past four weeks -- which is to say, they've been the best possible matchup for PGs. That fact, combined with Collison's cheap price, makes him very appealing. It's the second game of a back-to-back for the Pacers, but Collison should be fairly rested after playing just 27 minutes of Sunday's blowout (and sitting out the entire fourth quarter).

We're still waiting to hear whether DeAndre Jordan (ankle) will play tonight -- if not, Willie Reed (C, $4.3k) should get another start and will be hard to pass up. He piled up 44.6 FanDuel points in just 26 minutes on Saturday, albeit vs. the Kings, and this game's lightning-fast pace should ensure him plenty of rebounds and a decent number of touches in the paint offensively.

Montrezl Harrell (PF, $5.4k) is also likely to benefit if Jordan is ruled out, and he's coming off games with 33.2 and 33.7 FanDuel points. That's in a modest 24.0 minutes per game, but again the caveat is that he did it vs. the Kings' frontcourt. Keep an eye on the injury report and if you can join leagues with late lineup-locks, that's even better -- the Clippers don't tip-off until 10:30 ET.

Elsewhere at PF, I'd warn against Ryan Anderson (PF, $4.5k) as a value play with Nene (knee) ruled out and Tarik Black (eye abrasion) questionable. If Black can't go it'll be hard for Houston to keep Clint Capela below 34 minutes, and Anderson could also be a lock for 30+ minutes. The reason I'm leery of him is that he'll be extremely overmatched defensively vs. Blake Griffin, so P.J. Tucker could erode his playing time in a hurry. Ryno has just one game with 30+ FanDuel points in the past three weeks (vs. Phoenix on Friday) I'm just not sold on his upside.

Tyrone Wallace (SG, $4.2k) continues to be very affordable in FanDuel, but he should be looking at 32+ minutes with Austin Rivers sidelined again tonight. Two quiet games in a row should keep his ownership down, but he only needs 21 FanDuel points for 5x value -- he's averaging 25.7 in L.A.'s past five games.

Staying with the Houston/L.A. game, I'm still buying Gerald Green (SF, $4.6k) at this price. Yes, he's been boom-or-bust depending on whether his shot is falling, and over the past two games he's just 7-of-25 from the field (28.0%). The minutes and shot attempts will still be there without James Harden tonight, and the Clippers are giving up the sixth-most points to opposing benches this season. You could pay a bit more for guys like Joe Ingles ($5.0k), Lance Stephenson ($5.1k) or Trevor Ariza ($5.5k), but I'll take Green's explosive upside over them.
