DRAFT is back for another season of quick and exciting daily fantasy action. Their DFS platform offers poolies with a chance to participate in a format that most of us have grown very accustomed to over the years. You can compete in a live snake draft in which the participants take a player with each pick. Unlike other DFS games, this gives you the opportunity to use your knowledge to craft a team that no one else will have because the players you select cannot be chosen by your competition.
The draft is quick as you are allotted just 30 seconds per pick and you take five players. Your team is comprised of three forwards, a defenseman and a goalie.
Your strategy can be dictated by the positions being selected ahead of you. For instance, if you are going last and everyone else has a goaltender then you can wait until your last pick to make that selection. Of course, selecting players going up against weaker competition or players who are riding hot streaks are always popular strategies as well.

2. John Tavares
3. Mitch Marner
4. Anze Kopitar
5. Tyler Seguin
6. Jamie Benn
The forward rankings should be standard on Monday as the Leafs big lines as well as Dallas’ best unit are in action with only four games on the schedule. Matthews is a no-brainer as he has been the star of the NHL in the opening two weeks. The Leafs-Kings game should be high-scoring. If you can get the whole line for Dallas after Matthews and Tavares go, then go for it.
3. P.K. Subban
Rielly is second in the NHL in scoring with 13 points and is on a record-breaking pace to surpass Bobby Orr’s mark of 139. He won’t do it obviously but he has been fun to watch. There are plenty of blueliners so you can wait until the last round. Roman Josi is also a good pick as is Thomas Chabot who has been amazing for the Senators and is doing everything he can do to make fans forget about Erik Karlsson.
1. Ben Bishop
2, Pekka Rinne
Bishop has been strong this season (he was the third star of the week in Week 1) and the matchup against Ottawa should be a good one. Rinne is always a good pick and you have to hope that Toronto plays defensively like they did on Saturday against Washington. It is their first game back at home off a four-game road trip and they may want to put on an offensive show.
Keep in mind that FanDuel allows you to roster nine players (2C, 4W, 2D, 1G) with a salary cap of $55,000, while DraftKings has a cap of $50,000 for nine players (2C, 3W, 2D, 1G, 1UTIL).
Ben Bishop (Dallas) - G - $8,900 FanDuel, $8.500 Draft Kings
Morgan Rielly (Toronto) - D - $5,800 FanDuel, $6,000 Draft Kings
Thomas Chabot (Ottawa) - D - $4,300 FanDuel, $5,800 Draft Kings
Tyler Seguin (Dallas) - C - $7,900 FanDuel, $8,200 Draft Kings
Artturi Lehkonen (Montreal) - W - $4,900 FanDuel, $4,100 Draft Kings
Brady Tkachuk (Ottawa) - W - $3,900 FanDuel, $5,800 Draft Kings
As great as Auston Matthews has been, Tyler Seguin has put up better fantasy stats than the Leafs center. It is reflected in the Draft Kings contract but Seguin is a bargain in FanDuel. It looks as if Ben Bishop has the easiest time of it in net as the Stars play lowly Ottawa. The Senators have played well this season thus far but aren’t a very good team. Brady Tkachuk and Thomas Chabot are off to great starts and a good reason why the future in Ottawa is brighter. Morgan Rielly is leading all defensemen in points and is second in the NHL, trailing only teammate Matthews. Lehkonen is off to a nice start and should be considered at his price.
