Power Play Report

Mika Zibanejad, Shayne Gostisbehere and Tyler Seguin lead the NHL in power play shots on goal with 14. Nathan MacKinnon is the leader as far as shots on goal without scoring a power play goal. He has 12.


Nicklas Backstrom leads the NHL in power play points with seven.




Cam Fowler: Zero points in 21:41 minutes of power play time.

Rickard Rakell:: Three points in 20:02.

Adam Henrique: Two points in 19:04 of power play time.

Sam Steel: Two points in 18:02.

Hampus Lindholm: Two points in 13:34.


The Ducks were 1-7 on the man-advantage over the last week. They’re 5-22 on the power play this season. Ryan Kesler scored the only goal and was set up by Rakell and Steel.




Clayton Keller: One point in 22:14 of power play time.

Oliver Ekman-Larsson: Zero points in 22:10.

Richard Panik: One point in 19:14.

Derek Stepan: Zero points in 19:07.

Dylan Strome: One point in 18:29 of power play time.


The Coyotes were 1-7 this week and are 2-19 on the year. Brendan Perlini scored the lone goal with Jordan Oesterle and Vinnie Hinostroza drew the assists.




Matthew Grzelcyk: Two points in 23:19 of power play time.

David Pastrnak: Three points in 21:41.

Patrice Bergeron: Four points in 20:26.

Brad Marchand: Four points in 20:01.

David Krejci: Zero point in 16:59.


The Bruins were 0-10 and are 5-22 in 2018-19.




Jack Eichel: Three points in 43:48 of power play time.

Sam Reinhart: Four points in 39:21.

Rasmus Ristolainen: Three points in 38:52.

Kyle Okposo: Three points in 34:24.

Conor Sheary: Three points in 34:02.


The Sabres went 2-16 on the power play this week. Okposo had a hand in both with a goal and an assist. Ristolainen also scored with Reinhart assisting on both. Evan Rodrigues also had an assist. They’re now up to 6-34 on the man-advantage this season.




Johnny Gaudreau: Five points in 38:03 of power play time.

Sean Monahan: Three points in 37:08.

Mark Giordano: One point in 36:26.

Elias Lindholm: Three points in 35:51.

Matthew Tkachuk: Five points in 33:06.


The Flames were 1-8 on the power play this week. Tkachuk scored with Giordano and Lindholm picking up the assists. They’re now 6-33 on the power play this season.




Justin Faulk: One point in 30:14 of power play time.

Sebastian Aho: Two points in 27:36.

Teuvo Teravainen: Two points in 27:35.

Jordan Staal: Zero points in 26:41.

Justin Williams: Zero points in 24:23.


The Hurricanes are 2-30 this season after going 0-9 this week.




Alex DeBrincat: One point in 28:46 of power play time.

Jonathan Toews: Zero points in 28:34.

Patrick Kane: Three points in 27:49.

Nick Schmaltz: One point in 22:39.

Duncan Keith: Zero points in 19:41.


The Blackhawks were 1-9 on the power play in the last week and are 3-27 this season. Kane and Brent Seabrook set up Schmaltz for the only goal.

Gabriel Landeskog: Three points in 36:27.

The Avalanche went 3-13 on the man-advantage over the last week. Landeskog scored all three goals with MacKinnon and Barrie each picking up a pair of assists with Jost and Rantanen each getting one. The Avs are now 8-31 on the power play in 2018-19.




Zach Werenski: Two points in 34:05 of power play time.

Artemi Panarin: Three points in 32:14.

Nick Foligno: One point in 32:05.

Cam Atkinson: Three points in 27:32.

Pierre-Luc Dubois: Two points in 23:49.


The Blue Jackets were 0-6 on the man-advantage last week and are 4-29 on the power play this season.




Tyler Seguin: Four points in 26:01 of power play time.

John Klingberg: Four points in 24:04.

Jason Spezza: Three points in 23:21.

Alexander Radulov: Five points in 23:18.

 Jamie Benn: Four points in 21:52.


The Stars managed to go 1-10 this week with the man-advantage. Klingberg scored for the second week in a row with Spezza and Radulov drawing the assists. Dallas is 7-21 on the power play this season.




Andreas Athanasiou: Two points in 19:09 of power play time.

Gustav Nyquist: Three points in 17:24.

Dylan Larkin: Two points in 17:17.

Frans Nielsen: Two points in 16:57.

 Thomas Vanek: Two points in 16:52.


The Red Wings went 3-10 on the man-advantage over the last week. Vanek scored twice with Dennis Cholowski scoring once. Nielsen had two helpers with Anthony Mantha and Athanasiou also adding assists. The Wings are 7-25 on the man-advantage this season and the one thing that is going right in Detroit, is their power play.




Connor McDavid: Five points in 23:12 of power play time.

Ryan Nugent-Hopkins: Four points in 22:22.

Leon Draisaitl:: Four points in 22:14.

 Oscar Klefbom: One point in 22:11.

 Milan Lucic: One point in 21:09.


The Oilers went 3-8 on the man-advantage this week, as McDavid had two goals and an assist while Nugent-Hopkins had a goal and two helpers. Draisaitl had two assists with Klefbom picking up one. Edmonton is 5-18 on the power play this season.




Vincent Trocheck: Two points in 31:14 of power play time.

Aleksander Barkov: One point in 30:42.

Mike Hoffman: Two points in 30:00.

Evgenii Dadonov: Two points in 28:27.

Keith Yandle: One point in 27:39.


The Panthers finally found the back of the net on the power play as they scored three times and are now 3-27. They went 3-15 last week as Dadonov and Hoffman each had a goal and an assist. Jonathan Huberdeau also scored with Trocheck picking up a couple of assists. Barkov and Yandle each had one assist to complete the scoring.




Drew Doughty: Three points in 29:56 of power play time.

Ilya Kovalchuk: One point in 28:40.

Anze Kopitar: Zero points in 25:48.

Jeff Carter: Two points in 25:22.

Tyler Toffoli: One point in 19:42.


The Kings went 3-10 on the power play this week and are now 3-28 on the power play in the season. Doughty had a goal and two assists with Carter scoring once and adding a helper. Toffoli also scored with Alex Iafallo drawing a couple of assists. Kovalchuk also had a helper to complete the scoring.




Zach Parise: One point in 17:23 of power play time.

Matt Dumba: Two points in 17:08.

Ryan Suter: One point in 16:46.

Mikko Koivu: One point in 16:08.

Mikael Granlund: One point in 16:07.


The Wild went 1-10 on the power play over the last week. Dumba scored with Koivu and Parise picking up the assists. Minnesota is 3-22 on the power play this season.




Jeff Petry: Two points in 33:02 of power play time.

Jonathan Drouin: Four points in 31:40.

Tomas Tatar: Two points in 29:12.

Brendan Gallagher: Zero points in 28:20.

Max Domi: Three points in 23:51.


The Canadiens went 3-12 last week and are 5-29 on the man-advantage this season.  Drouin had a goal and two assists with Domi picking up one of each. Mike Reilly scored with Tatar, Petry and Charles Hudon picking up assists as well.




Filip Forsberg: Zero points in 25:52 of power play time.

Ryan Johansen: One point in 25:32.

Viktor Arvidsson: Zero points in 25:15.

P.K. Subban: One point in 24:29.

Roman Josi: One point in 23:14.


The Predators were 1-7 on the man-advantage, and are 3-27 this season. Kevin Fiala and Craig Smith scored with Johansen, Subban, Ryan Ellis and Kyle Turris drawing the assists.




Taylor Hall: Six points in 26:55 of power play time.

Nico Hischier: Two points in 26:43.

Kyle Palmieri: Five points in 25:39.

Will Butcher: Four points in 23:52.

Travis Zajac: One point in 20:20.


The Devils went 5-14 on the man-advantage this week. Brian Boyle scored twice with Palmieri getting a goal and an assist. Hischier and Damon Severson also scored with Hall assisting on four of the five goals. Butcher had two assists while Zajac, Miles Wood and Marcus Johansen all had one helper. They are now 8-28 on the power play.




Mathew Barzal: Four points in 26:45 of power play time.

Josh Bailey: Four points in 25:32.

Nick Leddy: Zero points in 24:21.

Jordan Eberle: One point in 23:46.

Anders Lee: Two points in 23:13.


The Islanders went 1-8 on the power play last week, with Bailey scores and Barzal and Eberle drawing the assists. New York is now 4-20 on the power play this season.

Chris Kreider: Two points in 25:41.

Mats Zuccarello: Three points in 24:44.

Kevin Shattenkirk: One point in 21:53.

Ryan Spooner: Zero points in 15:49.


The Rangers were 4-12 this week and are now 5-24 this season. Kreider scored twice with Zibanejad scoring once and assisting on another. Jimmy Vesey also scored with Neal Pionk assisting on three of the four goals. Zuccarello had two assists with Shattenkirk and Brett Howden also drawing assists.




Thomas Chabot: One point in 20:50 of power play time.

Matt Duchene: Two points in 18:47.

Mark Stone: Two points in 17:58.

 Chris Tierney: Four points in 16:11.

 Bobby Ryan: One point in 16:04.


The Senators went 1-4 on the man-advantage over the last week. Ryan and Stone set up Duchene for the lone goal. The Sens are 6-22 overall.




Shayne Gostisbehere: Three points in 38:09 of power play time.

Claude Giroux: Five points in 36:57.

Jakub Voracek: Four points in 35:49.

Wayne Simmonds: Three points in 35:17.

Sean Couturier: Zero points in 34:21.


The Flyers went 1-9 last week. Travis Konecny scored with Travis Sanheim and Jordan Weal picking up the helpers. The Flyers are 6-31 on the power play this season.




Phil Kessel: Two points in 17:10 of power play time.

Kris Letang: Two points in 17:10.

Sidney Crosby: Two points in 16:48.

Evgeni Malkin: Three points in 16:32.

Patric Hornqvist: Zero points in 14:54.


The Penguins scored once this week and are 4-15. That is not a lot of opportunities for such a powerful offense. Malkin scored with Letang and Crosby drawing the assists.  




Erik Karlsson: Two points in 35:38 of power play time.

Brent Burns: Three points in 33:14.

Logan Couture: Zero points in 31:18.

Joe Pavelski: Zero points in 30:35.

Tomas Hertl: Zero points in 27:43.


The Sharks went 3-9 on the man-advantage over the last week. Pavelski, Couture and Joonas Donskoi scored with Burns picking up two assists. Kevin Labanc, Evander Kane and Karlsson also had assists. The Sharks are now 5-30 on the power play this season.




Vladislav Tarasenko: Two points in 30:52 of power play time.

Ryan O’Reilly: Three points in 29:53.

Patrick Maroon: Three points in 27:20.

Alex Pietrangelo: Zero points in 26:45.

Tyler Bozak: One point in 25:42.


The Blues went 2-9 on the power play. Vince Dunn and Schenn scored with O’Reilly, Perron, Alexander Steen and Tarasenko picking up the assists. The Blues are now 7-23 overall this season.




Nikita Kucherov: One point in 31:07 of power play time.

J.T. Miller: Four points in 29:54.

Steven Stamkos: One point in 29:28.

Victor Hedman: One point in 27:04.

Alex Killorn: One point in 24:06.


The Lightning were 3-13 for the week with the man-advantage and are 7-28 so far in 2018-19. Yanni Gourde scored twice with Miller also finding paydirt. Ondrej Palat had two assists as the second unit did quite well for the Lightning, while Hedman, Kucherov and Brayden Point also drew assists.




John Tavares: Three points in 23:02 of power play time.

Auston Matthews: Five points in 22:50.

Mitch Marner: Four points in 22:44.

Nazem Kadri: Three points in 21:56.

Morgan Rielly: Six points in 21:16.


The Leafs power play had to slow down and this was the week. They still managed to score as Patrick Marleau found the back of the net with Josh Leivo and Jake Gardiner drawing the assists. They’re 9-24 on the season.




Brock Boeser: Two points in 24:29 of power play time.

Bo Horvat: Three points in 23:40.

Sven Baertschi: Three points in 23:34.

Alexander Edler: Three points in 22:32.

Elias Pettersson: Four points in 20:35.


The Canucks went 0-3 on the man-advantage over the last week. Pettersson scored against Florida. Vancouver is 5-22 on the power play this season.




William Karlsson: Two points in 24:21 of power play time.

Jonathan Marchessault: Two points in 24:21.

Max Pacioretty: Zero points in 23:50.

Reilly Smith: One point in 23:43.

Shea Theodore: Zero points in 21:09.


The Golden Knights finally scored as they went 2-8 on the power play. Karlsson and Marchessault scored and had an assist while Brad Hunt and Smith drew assists. The Golden Knights are 2-24 this season.




Alex Ovechkin: Five points in 35:07 of power play time.

John Carlson: Six points in 33:46.

Nicklas Backstrom: Seven points in 29:58.

Evgeny Kuznetsov: Six points in 29:30.

T.J. Oshie: One point in 28:41.


The Capitals scored three goals this week and are 10-26 this season. Ovechkin scored twice while Backstrom had a goal an an assist. Carlson had two helpers with Kuznetsov, Lars Eller and Brett Connolly also drawing one helper.




Mark Scheifele: Three points in 23:13 of power play time.

Patrik Laine: Four points in 23:04.

Kyle Connor: Two points in 22:49.

Blake Wheeler: Four points in 21:39.

Dustin Byfuglien: Three points in 15:09.


The Jets went 4-8 on the man-advantage as they had a great week. Josh Morrissey, Scheifele and Laine each scored and had an assist while Bryan Little also scored. Byfuglien had two assists with Wheeler, Connor and Nikolaj Ehlers also adding a helper. The Jets are 7-20 this season.
