It sounds bizarre to say it (and write it for that matter), but Emmanual Mudiay is getting closer and closer to must-own territory in fantasy leagues. His last eight games: 18.5 ppg, 5.8 apg, 0.8 spg and 1.5 3s. As for the percentages? 46.2 and 82.4 during that same stretch. It is Dec. 2018 and Emmanuel Mudiay is fantasy-relevant -- in a good way. I'm speechless.
Also in New York, No. 9 overall pick Kevin Knox has been getting a ton of run lately (minutes played, last four games: 41, 33, 42, 35), and has responded with averages of 20.0 ppg, 7.3 rpg, 1.0 spg, 0.8 bpg and 3.3 3s. (He has shot 42.9 percent from the field and 58.3 from the line, but we can't have everything.)
Another notable rookie Kevin: Kevin Huerter of the Hawks, who posted a disappointing line on Sunday (four points in 28 minutes), but has still put up 10.6 ppg, 3.1 rpg, 3.3 apg, 1.1 spg, 0.6 bpg and 2.3 3s his last eight games, shooting 52.6 percent from the field.
Meanwhile, out of nowhere, Derrick Jones Jr. is playing big fourth quarter minutes for Miami, and posting difference-making defensive stats, averaging 9.4 ppg, 9.0 rpg, 2.2 spg and 1.4 bpg his last five games. If you're looking for a fantasy lottery ticket -- here you go.
Plus, we discuss the continued rise of Monte Morris, and why he's worth adding despite a light schedule for Denver ahead.
