NBA DFS Plays: Saturday 12/21

Updated On: December 21, 2019, 12:14 pm ET

This article aims to highlight some of the best NBA DFS Plays at every position for your cash game lineups. Keep in mind that the following player write-ups were constructed earlier in the day, and sometimes injury/rest situations can alter the fantasy landscape. Monitoring our NBA News & Headlines Feed throughout the day will keep you in the loop while giving you the subsequent DFS consequences of each information piece.

We’ll take a look at the seven-game main slate starting at 7:00 ET on Saturday.

Damian Lillard - Portland (vs. Minnesota)

Lillard finds himself in an excellent situation, playing up in pace against a Minnesota team that ranks 26th in defensive efficiency to point guards. The Blazers’ floor general has looked good lately, putting up 60 and 47 fantasy points respectively over his last two. I would be very surprised if he didn’t fall into that range tonight, making him one of the best overall PG options of this slate.

Also Consider: Ben Simmons, Jeff Teague

Josh Richardson - Philadelphia (vs. Washington)

Richardson checks in as a solid bargain lift to help make the rest of your lineup work. He’s averaging 34 minutes and 30 fantasy points over his last two games, which is something that should continue against a terrible Washington defense. The Wizards rank dead last in defensive efficiency to shooting guards and team d-eff overall. Richardson should find enough opportunities to satisfy his non-imposing salary.

Also Consider: James Harden, DeMar DeRozan

Giannis Antetokounmpo - Milwaukee (at New York)

James Harden, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and Kawhi Leonard are all premium picks worth pursuing tonight. However, there seems to be less opportunity cost at the small forward position, which gives Giannis somewhat of a boost. That’s speaking more for FanDuel, as Leonard makes sense over on DraftKings. However, Giannis has an undeniable matchup against the Knicks, who rank 19th in team defensive efficiency. You better believe he’s looking forward to lighting it up in Madison Square Garden, so the reigning MVP makes sense through all DFS formats tonight.

Also Consider: Tobias Harris, Jae Crowder

Marvin Bagley - Sacramento (at Memphis)

We can play the pricing game with Bagley here. He returned from injury earlier this month, only seeing around 20 minutes in each of his first four games. However, he seems to be trending up with 27 minutes and 33 fantasy points yesterday at Indiana, and the salary has fallen due to the restricted playing time leading up to that. Making matters even better, Bagley will be facing a Memphis team that ranks 21st in defensive efficiency to power forwards.

Also Consider: Kawhi Leonard, Dario Saric (better if Ayton out)

Aron Baynes - Phoenix (vs. Houston)

This recommendation depends on the status of Deandre Ayton. If Ayton misses another game, Baynes makes for an interesting bargain lift. Even though Baynes didn’t make the most of increased opportunities yesterday at Oklahoma City (16 FP in 25 minutes), he should find room to thrive in tonight’s 237 over/under against the Rockets.

Also Consider: Hassan Whiteside, Gorgui Dieng (if Towns out)
